This is so me! I got the entire card finished, used the "you anchor me" sentiment - and there's not a single anchor on the card! Ok.........So......I added an anchor on the inside! Sometimes I wonder how my mind works (or rather, doesn't work)!
The little "fish" background paper is from Fancy Pants called Down by the Shore. Really cute paper pack too. I used the Wicked Nautical images from Paper Smooches stamping the waves and then the sailboat. Of course this was the third (or forth) try on those waves getting them straight and still the bottom one looks a little squirrel-y.......Waves aren't meant to be perfect are they? Oh, and then I added the little bird. Now, I realize that sea gulls (what we associate with the ocean, etc.) are not black.......so you'll just have to use your imagination on that one! Anyway, added the sentiment and then twine. On the inside I added a strip of the "fish" paper and an anchor.
I'll enter this is the Anything Goes challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks and Creative Card Crew (nautical).
Thanks for stopping by.........

Fabulous card, Lynn! Love the red and blue! I think the waves look great, and the fish paper is perfect!
Anchor or no anchor, it all looks fabulous to me! Great card!
lol! Let's assume there's an anchor!
Love that fishy background!!!!!
Love this card Lynn! Great image and that fishy paper is perfect for this!
Your stories about your card creating always makes me smile. This is such a cute card and I love the circular element and the paper pack is perfect.
Fabulous card and loving the fish background. You do make me chuckle with your tales of how you make your cards.

The sentiment is great on it's own, who needs an actual anchor??? Not me. Love the darling paper and your boat and waves work very well together. The boat is not suppose to ride straight along the top of the waves anyway. When I look up at seagulls they all look black to me. Well I hope I've done my job to dismiss all of the doubts you had about this darling card. Have a great day.
Lynn--this is such a cute card. I love the colors and that image is sweet!
Too stinkin cute! I adore that tiny fishy paper!
Fantastic card and I love the fishy paper!!
You could always go with the philosophical approach and tell everyone that you were explaining how a sailboat, out to sea, would be lost without the anchor... :) As for the bird... When we are out on the lake, the buzzards and hawks fly overhead and they look black!
It looks just perfect!! Well done! I have eyed this paper for 2 weeks now, you just may have pushed me over the edge, LOL!
Baby seagulls are pretty dark grey, so it totally works! And I think the sentiment is perfect even without a visible anchor - it just goes with the sailboat theme! I love the cloud background & that fishy paper is cute!
This is adorable Lynn! I love the scene you've created and that fabulous fish paper! AND I think your waves look great!!

This is fabulous Lynn, I like the image and the colours.

I love it! That fish paper is so sweet. The seagull is dark because we're looking into the sun... yeah, that's it. I think we can infer that a boat uses an anchor so its okay to not have one visibly present!
You totally crack me up. This card is awesome.
I love your simple card. The seagull isn't black, it is in shadow. LOL
Really cute card.
Thanks for joining our nautical challenge at Creative Card Crew.

Of course waves are not even Lynn!! Love your card, and the anchor is implied by the presence of the boat.
Blessings

That is clever to have the anchor on the inside with the sentiment leading on to it.
Very sweet masculine card.
Thanks for not giving up on me,
Monica
Super adorable! Love the colors and your fish PP! The twine is a great touch too!
This is the cutest nautical card, and I agree - it's so YOU! The whole idea is perfection, including the black bird! I love it all, great job!!
I think your waves look perfect. Probably more perfect than actual waves. And the anchor is under the water so you cant see it...unless you open the card! Love the bright and wonderful colors!
What perfection, Lynn! I love every detail of this delightful card from the tiny fish background to the anchor (inside)! Awesome work!
It is so you and so cute! I love that fish design paper, how perfect.
This is such a great card Lynn, love that paper xx
I like the nautical theme and how you picked the fishy pattern paper to go with the focal image :) so perfect!
Really nicely done!
Card looks fabulous! It's sooo funny, I am watch Erin Brocovich on tv while looking at this and the guy in the movie is wearing a shirt that matches that fish pattern paper! I had to do a double take lol.
Adorable nautical card, Lynn! I love the fishy paper and the waves look great...I ran into a similar problem earlier this week and came to the same conclusion, they aren't meant to be perfect.
The anchor is implied. Great card. I think I have that fish paper....hmmm.....I will be looking for it now that I see how cute it is! Waves are only uniform at the water park! The black gull...thought it was a silhouette! I really do love that sentiment! The twine is perfect really looks like tow/sailing line! Best use of twine EVER!
This is really a very pretty card!! I love all the red and the fun fish dp to go with the boat image :)
Fabulous card Lynn. Love your image and waves. They do have a look of movement. Cute fishy paper too. Wearing a different hat today instead of your blogging buddy. Thanks for joining us at Creative Card Crew. Good luck. Maggie, DT
I just assumed the anchor was in the water! :-D Love the fishy paper and your waves. Maybe the bird is an albatross instead of a sea gull? lol Fab design.
This is so cool in the red, white, and blue, Lynn! I think your bird is just on the shadow side of the sun. At least that's how they look in photos sometimes. I love that pp with your circle spotlight and rough seas!! Hugs, Darnell
so cute! lovely card! thanks so much for joining us this week at Paper Smooches SPARKS!
You are cracking me up Lynn! Now silly girl, the anchor is deep on the ocean floor under all those waves where we can't see it! And your bottom wave isn't squirre-ly at all and yes waves are not meant to be perfect. And as for the bird-well it is simply so sunny because it is such a beautiful day that the sun makes the gull a silhouette! See it's all good! lol I love it! And I love the papers you used. Hugs, Brenda
