You Shine

Since the Lawnscaping Challenge is to use stars and/or stripes I thought I'd include both of them on my card.  A normal type person would have probably made the stripes yellow to represent the sun rays or something - however, since no one has probably considered me normal I thought I'd make them blue to represent the sky!  You can still have the "shine" from the windows on the lighthouse!  After all, it is my card so guess I can make the stripes any color I want! LOL!

I used two Lawn Fawn sets on this card - Life is Good and Lucky Stars.  Both are really nice sets and after stamping the lighthouse and coloring - and cutting it out - I realized I also had the dies to this set!  Duh!  When I added the birds I did remember to use the dies though!!  I used a stencil and smushed out some blue ink to color the embossing paste before spreading it down for the stripes.  After that dried I added some of the "sand" looking patterned paper and then the birds.  The two stars were stamped with Momento ink and heat embossed - as was the sentiment after stamping in blue.

I'll enter this in the Lawnscaping Challenge - stars and/or stripes.

I'll also throw in with the entries at Darnell's challenge - that never before used shtuff - With a focus on friendship.  ALL my friends just "shine" so this will be going to one of them.  This is the first time I've used the Life is Good set from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for stopping by...........
Lynn

Of course you are not normal and no one would expect you to be, but that is what we love so much about you. You did an amazing job on your stenciling job and I love that you made the stripes blue. This is a great summer time card and can be given to any one of any age or gender. Have a sunny day.

I think the blue stripes are best for a naughy Cal scene, Lynn! And I have to tell you I snorted through my nose when you admitted that you remembered you had the die AFTER cutting out the lighthouse! SO something I would do!! Love the sand, too! Thank you for playing in my NBUS Challenge again and posting the button!! Enjoy the weekend! Hugs, Darnell

I love your blue stripes, Lynn! I think they make a perfect sky. I probably would have been lazy and settled for the stripes on the lighthouse. lol Love the birds and the sentiment.

I can't imagine those stripes in yellow, as the blue just gives this card an overall wonderful nautical look! Great hand-cutting, and the simple design is just wonderful!

I thought Blue Sky when I saw the stripes (guess I'm odd too!)& it really made the red lighthouse sparkle in a way I doubt sun stripes would have . Absolutely loving the textured sea birds. A cheery wonderful card, and how you have time to do cards with all your other chores of the moment, amazing! TFS & Hugs.

LOL! You are so funny! Personally, I think the yellow would have been a bit too much... Your card looks wonderful and did I just see you admit that you forgot that you had something? Glad that NEVER happens to me!

Very vice! I felt the blue sky thing right away. The stripes also made me think of waves, appropriate for a lighthouse by the beach. So now I'm ready to go to the beach as long as I don't encounter your hot dude from your other post.
