A Basket for Fall

All the stores around here already have their Halloween candy out and every time I walk by I groan and then snarl a bit.  If I buy it now I'll have it eaten long before Halloween ever even gets here!  The good thing though is that it means cooler weather is on the way - and I'm so ready for it I could scream!  When it got to 103 yesterday I decided to quit looking at the thermometer.  Of course the air conditioner just HAD to go out last night too.  Makes for a really, really, really long night!   Anyway, on to cooler weather and my card.....

The image is from Deedee's Digis and it comes in a set of four - one for each season.  Very pretty images and they come in pre-color or the line version that you can color yourself.  Like a dummy I decided that coloring the image would be a wonderful stress reducer so started coloring it with Copics.  There were so many details and tiny pieces on the image to color so not sure how much stress it reduced - as it was giving me fits.  Of course right in the middle of it all one of the Copics ran out of juice and guess who didn't have the refill ink!  I just sorta winged it from there.  It is what it is.

Anyway......back to the images!  They're so pretty and if you played along with Deedee's challenge last month you got them for free this month.  If not, you can always purchase it in the shop.  There's still a little time to play this month and we'd love to see you there.  Be sure and check this out because these images can be used all year long!

Thanks for stopping by........
Lynn

OH my! I can so relate to your post! And Yes, the Halloween candy is out in our stores too! I would do the same thing if I bought it now. I would have it all eaten by Halloween, and have to go buy more.

I can't count how many times I have ran out of of ink or something similar while doing a project. (Or can't find something I need to complete the project)

Back to your card. Very pretty, makes me dream of cooler weather too. I like how you added the burlap on the side.

What a sweet card this is!! The image is adorable and colored perfectly!! I love the strip of burlap, too!!

Ugh...sorry your air conditioner went out. I wish I could send some of our weather your way...It's been in the low 70s with no humidity and down to 50 at night. I've had to wear a jacket the last two day!! But it's supposed to warm back up next week...and by warm, I mean 80-90, not the 100's like there. Have a great day :)

Your card looks great even if it did cause stress. Since it's National Dog Day, be sure to give Rambo a big hug :-)

This is a real cute card, but, yes, I agree that there is a lot of coloring to this one. I started coloring one of the baskets and ended up giving up and going to the pre-colored version. I HATE that when you run out of ink and you don't have the refill. It has happened to me more than once. I do hope it cools down for you real soon. I can even imagine no a/c with those types of temps. Be careful in this heat.

Hi Lynn,
I am sorry that instead of fun the colouring became a pain. This often happens to card makers and I know how we feel. Only a fellow card maker would understand. Lol. And I do.

Inspite of all the pain, this card is full of gain. I love the jute and the colour scheme and EVERYTHING about it.

I am sending you and Jim lots of positive energy and hoping he resumes use of his arm sooner than expected. I do beleive that prayer works miracles. I have seen it.

Take care my friend and keep your humour about yourself,
Monica

Yeah, it's been unbearably hot and humid here but today was actually cool for a change but of course it rained! Your card is adorable - love the burlap strips! I don't see any problem with your colouring at all so no worries! I'm really looking forward to fall too! Hope Jim is doing okay - and you as well.

Coloring all those details would make me tense! You've done a fabulous job of it! Love the burlap too! Hope you can get that AC fixed today. No fun being hot!

Oh wow that's too much heat for me! I complain when it's 90 here which it's supposed to be by Sunday. I was enjoying the cooler temps at 70ish!! :) So maybe we'll send some of this cooler weather your way from the Midwest!

LOVE your stunning country-feel Fall card!! My favorite time of the year with the pretty colors and texture!! Your card is a stunning example of it too!! Love the added burlap as well!! Thanks for sharing!

I love the burlap with this great fall basket! I, too, am looking forward to the arrival of my favorite season! Great coloring here, Lynn!

Hope your air conditioner problem is a quick and easy fix! We can't live without it here in Texas, can we?

Love your coloring, Lynn! It certainly doesn't look like you had any trouble with the Copics. :-D Cute polka dots on her dress. Love the color combo and that burlap strip is perfect. :-D

Bummer on the a/c conking out. Hope it got fixed awready. We had a nice much cooler morning today. Yesterday morning was quite nice for a while too, but then warmed up. I LOVE this image. I have the summer basket printed out, not had time to card it up yet. Love the circle treatment and the wonderful design in the background paper. Great design idea to add a trim strip over that texture burlap. Also liked the tiny trio of droplets. I feel the same way about the Halloween & Thanksgiving stuff in the stores. And now Christmas is pretty much an all year thing. Oh well. TFS & Hugs.

Oops, just realized I missed that you did the line art, and colored it! Fabulous job and you did outstanding - yep, the coloring can be soothing, but it can aggravate too! Good you keep your hand in, though. Hope all is going well down your way. Hugs

This is a real stunner Lynn! Oh my gosh, I love how the card background flows with the burlap panel, and everything looks so beautiful with these great colors! Impressive indeed!
I'm rooting SO hard for TX to win tonight!! I didn't care who won until I saw 2 intentional hits by CA on the first base player that were just mean and ugly! UGH! Go Texas!!!

A beautiful card, Lynn! I heaved a huge sigh when I read what you wrote about Halloween candy! It is so wonderful to know I'm not the only one who does that!! I usually can count on gaining eight pounds between now and New Year's! My will power is nonexistent when it comes to candy and NBUS crafting schtuff!! I sure hope you were able to get your a/c fixed immediately and that it cools off there soon! Hugs, Darnell
