Smiling Plants

I'm not real sure my plants are smiling today since I really need to water them, but pretty much all plants smile and especially when they're blooming - and have a little water!

I used a cute set of stamps from Newton's Nook (Garden Whimsy) along with a piece of burlap, tag, grass, and cloud dies, Recollections paper, sequins, ribbon, twine, and a wooden embellishment thing-a-ma-jig.  This is colored with Copics.  Of course, being very typical of me, I forgot to color in some sky on the tag - until after the entire card was put together.  Went back in with some light blue Pan Pastels and added some barely noticeable blue for the sky.

I haven't entered the Inky Paws Challenge at Newton's Nook in a while and finally found some time to play along with their sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

Hi Lynn I'm back again LOL that card on my blog is sooooo easy I don't like folded ones too they look so hard but this one is great! Take an 8x8 card and cut 2 inches off it so your left with a 6x6..and the piece you have left score at 6inches then 3 then 3 and just add whatever paper you wish and stick the small piece on and viola it's done LOL xxx

Besides the doxies, Winston is probably my next fave character from NN! :) Love your take on the sketch and the whole design certainly looks happy to me! :) I am in the middle of working on a card for this sketch too, hopefully I can finish it to post it!

Cute little water bear!Love all the shapes & elements, loads of sunshine colors too. The tiny wooden 'sun button' look great under that sentiment, and of course, you always have just the right papers. Loving the stripes with the dots. Burlap was a great addition to the cute tag too. TFS

I knew that was a Newton's Nook the instant I saw the image and before I read a single word. How adorable! Love the stripes and the burlap. :-D I watered my plants really well this morning but since it got up to 98 today (might even get to 100 tomorrow!), they are dry and thirsty already. They just have to survive another 2 days because we're still on water rationing when it comes to watering our yards.

What a fabulous card Lynn - love your wee sentiment, and the burlap is a great accent - reminds me of earth - don't know why - maybe 'cos I have been out in the garden this afternoon.

Perfectly adorable for the sketch challenge! Inside plants just do not stand a chance around here... outside does a little better.

This is so cute, Lynn. All the colors are perfect for spring. Terrific coloring job and I can see your light blue sky. I;m hoping we have a sky just like your all day today before it starts to rain tonight. I will be watering today as I'm heading out to buy my herbs and some annual flowers this morning. Wishing you a wonderful day.
