I Made A Card!!!

Believe it or not, I'm here - and yes, I even made a card.  I won't comment on the quality of this card at all, but hey it's done and I'm posting it!  Such is life...........

I was unloading all the boxes in the craft room and found this scrap of Kraft paper.  Found my colored pencils, and another piece of cardstock!  WhooHoo!  I'm on a roll.  So, stopped with the unpacking and decided it was time to just take a break and color.  The image I used is from Newton's Nook.  Simple card since I couldn't find much of anything else but after finding the twine and dies, I got it colored and all ready to go.........and then couldn't find the paper cutter to do anything else so it all sat there for a couple of days.  Groan!  Finally found the paper cutter yesterday and cut away.  Also found a red heart.  Now granted there's no red on this card so why I added a red heart I have no idea other than the fact, I found it and used it -  so we'll deal with that.  Then found the die and cut out one in blue too and added it.  I mean, why not!

Ok, now I'm really rocking and rolling.  Camera, charger, and cord for the camera - check!  Adding it to Blogger in order to post - not so good.  It was an all morning affair.  It's amazing how you forget what you've done for so long but with some help from a cheat sheet, here it is.

The reasoning behind the Kraft and colored pencils (which I will say is NOT my cup of tea at all) is because of a challenge Darnell is having celebrating several things in her life.  Because Darnell is such a sweetie, I figured I'd at least toss this in the mix and enter.  Check out her challenge. I'll also enter this in the Inky Paws Challenge (to use a heart).

Everything else is going ok right now.  We are finally moved in - correction.......everything is in the house.  As far as putting it where it belongs and little things like that, it could be a while.  A LONG while.  I think Jim will be a happy little camper once I get the sheets off the windows and hang the curtains!    Just hanging in there and hoping that 2017 is a much better year for us.

Anyway.............thanks for stopping by and I'll try to be back soon.
Lynn

Hello Lynn! :) I've missed you and was wondering if you'd be back!...after reading about your moving and putting things in place....still wondering now! LOL!!

Love your Winston all colored up on the kraft card stock and looking pretty awesome with your coloring too! I'm not so great at it and just bravely posted my version! LOL! I think the addition of the hearts and twine set him off perfectly! P.S. You could actually also enter this into the new Inky Paws challenge (add a heart)...they have a separate blog now for the challenges...so check it out!

Will let you get back to your move and wishing you lots of happiness for 2017 my friend! :)

Oh Lynn, this is a cutie and I love that touch of red with the heart. Great coloring. You sound like me when we had to move everything out of my craft room for a new carpet to go in. It took me forever to find everything. LOL
In any case I'm happy to see your blog up and going for now. Take everything one day at a time. Enjoy your weekend.

I'm glad to see you are moved in. It takes a while to get everything unpacked and find a place for everything. I hope you'll be very happy in your new home and that you find all your craft stuff! Love the bear and I think that red heart gives just the right amount of pizzazz! xoxo

Welcome back to blogworld again! And straight out of the gate you made a cute and fun card! Love this image and the fun sentiment with those fun hearts! It all coordinates together perfectly. Good luck getting organized and settled in - I don't know if I'd ever completely unpack and organize at my age if I had to move now! Might be easier to sell everything and start over!? LOL Seriously, take care of yourself and good luck with the challenges! Have a great weekend!

So good to see you posting again, my friend. Good to know that you have the unpacking priorities straight - coffee, toilet paper, crafting supplies! lol I remember moving more than 3 years ago and I admit that I still have boxes waiting to be unpacked (but not in the craft room!)
I adore this fun little image! Great coloring, especially on kraft. The pop of the red heart really works so pretend you intended it. :-O

I am loving your sweet little card Lynn!!! This little fishing bear is just adorable and made for a great masculine card. I love the little hearts by the sentiment and yes red is quite nice and the color we associate with a heart, but the blue one with it tones down the red and it just works on this card! Love the sentiment too. Yes, I too, hope that 2017 is a better year for you and Jim and Rambo!!!! That's my prayer anyway! Big hugs, Brenda

I add my wishes to yours that 2017 is a much better year for you! It HAS to be, right?! Sending lots of love and hugs, Darnell (Curtains are SO overrated!)

Whoo-HOO! Welcome back to blogging and if you don't want to comment on the quality of the card, I sure do! It's adorable. Great pencil coloring (which I don't do well at all). I like the spark of the red heart, but I'm glad you found the die, (just cause you found it!) and added a matching blue one. Mr. Bear looks totally cute atop the kraft paper, and the blue & tan look real purty together. Glad to know unpacking progress is being made. Hope all continues to be well & things be found too! Big hugs, & TFS.

Hello, Lynn! Yay! You are all moved in! I remember it well! I still have boxes I haven't unpacked and we moved almost 3 years ago! But in all fairness we had to pack everything back up after our water damage in 2015 and then the repairs weren't done until 2016, so after all that I just couldn't be bothered unpacking some of it! I got used to the boxes! I'm thinking I might be able to get rid of some of this stuff since I haven't used it for so long! Glad you're settling in and I hope everything else is going okay for you and hubby. Your card is so cute and fun! I just got back online a couple days ago. I just checked out this challenge but it ends today so I probably won't get to join. Next time!
