The Slacker Is Back

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and yes.....Happy Valentine's Day too!  I'm back.....at least for today.

I saw the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge last week and really liked it so figured I'm give it a whirl.  I attempted a technique that Jennifer McGuire showed using alcohol inks and water for the background on this card.  I don't have any alcohol inks so used some Copic refills.  The hearts are from Stampin' Up.

What surprised me most of all was that I didn't turn my craft area into a pink, red, and blue room due to spilling the water everywhere.  I also didn't end up looking like a pink Smurf either which was a plus.

I'll enter this in the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by............and I'll hopefully be back soon.

Lynn

Happy everything Lynn..good to see you and love your inky background valentine card.I watch Jennifer spray water and always wonder how it only goes on the ink and not all over the walls where my spray goes..love the sentiment in black and white too..they really pop..

Love you, too, Lynn! Glad to see you back! Your refills gave the same effect as the alcoholic inks and that's a gorgeous thing! Love the tones and swirls and how the itty-bitty heart was cut from the same paper - clever you!! Hugs, Darnell

Welcome back! Your and your amazing cards were missed! Love what you did with this card. Water? Is that all...I manage to spill my coffee sitting next to me... (next time I should use it for a background of some sort)? spill my embossing powder...I could go on and on..
Hope you have a good day...Blessings, Jill

So wonderful to see a card from you! And it's gorgeous. This must be the alcohol marbling technique, and you've got a lovely background. It's just a really pretty Valentine, and you're ahead of the game. HOpe things stay calm, that you can get some rest, and get back to enjoying crafting soon. Big hugs, TFS
