This is not your typical little "happy feet" type guy I'm afraid. He reminds me of the day after Christmas when you're not even sure how you made it through the last two weeks - and wondering what exactly you're suppose to do next. Or maybe he's just thinking about all the money he spent at Christmas and realizing he's going to pay for it all now!
This cute image is from Rubbernecker Stamps. Isn't he the absolute cutest penguin ever! The sentiment is from MFT and the snowflake from Lawn Fawn.
I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches where they're celebration their 400th sketch! I'll also enter it in Rudolph's Day Challenge for August.

Summer's Done?
I'm not sure if this gal is heading to the beach - or leaving the beach! If she lives in Texas, I'm sure she heading that way though. Way too hot here (we hit 109 the other day) to even think about anything other than a little sand and surf. I know winter is coming, but we still have a few months to go around here.
Lots of layering on this card for whatever reason. The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is colored with Copics. I just wish I could get a tan like that! As it is, looking at me in a bathing suit is like looking at a ghost - and it not even being Halloween! Anyway........a fun card to give you a smile.
I'll enter this in the Tuesday Throwdown challenge - stripes.

With Sympathy
I don't think anyone likes to make sympathy cards but we do have to send them on occasion . I did this one really fast - mainly because my daughter needed one quick.
I used some very shiny white paper for the background but it appears in a muted gray somewhat. The patterned paper also in grays and pink is from Paper Studio. The butterfly die from Impression Obsession and the sentiment from Hero Arts. The pearls...........ah............the pearls! I can't even remember when I used pearls on a card the last time but they seemed to be needed on this one. I actually even found them pretty quick too! Surprise there!
Anyway, I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches so will enter it in their challenge. I'll also enter this in Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

.....And She's Back - YAY
Yes, I'm finally back. No, I didn't hit the beach like I wanted but still had a good trip I guess. Seeing a bunch of relatives doesn't compare to sand and surf sometimes but it was fine. WAYYYYY too much driving. Now that I live in the northern (Panhandle)part of Texas, in order to go anywhere you feel like you have to drive for days and days. After 8 hours of driving on the first leg of the trip and then 3 and a half hours on the second leg of the trip, everything on my entire body hurt. Rambo went with me and he slept almost the entire time. What a life!
Anyway, back to the real world. This is a card I did before I left. (In fact, I haven't done anything since I got back other than help move one of the granddaughters into the dorm for college. THAT made that 11 and a half hour trip look soooooo easy!!!)
Ok.......I used a die from MFT and not sure where the sentiment came from. The background stamp with the swirls is from SSS. Did some quick blending with the oxide inks and it was done!

Beaches and Birds
But we're talking about birds today and not surfer dudes. I'm not sure if this flamingo qualifies as a bird with that hat on and carrying a purse but it's a cute one. In fact, the entire stamp set from Inkadinkado was cute so instead of doing one card, I did several. I'm trying to do that with more of my stamp sets now. So many of them that I buy I only make one card, file away the stamp set, and then don't use it anymore. Not really paying for itself at all that way so I'm trying to change my ways. Not sure if you can teach an old dog new tricks though!!!
From looking at all these cards and the one from yesterday, it seems I'm heading to the beach. I only wish!!! However, I am going to be gone for a while but will be back. Summer is almost over with and hopefully I'll be getting back to the regular routine of things around here.
Thanks for stopping by...........and will be back soon.

Surf's Up.....Or Maybe Down
Not sure if the surf is up or down but life is good - and especially if you're at the beach like this little surfer dude from Newton's Nook. I wish I was at the beach right now but it's so hot in Texas I would imagine that the sand at the beach is too hot to stand on. It'll cool down soon enough since they're already putting Halloween stuff in the stores now. By next week I'm sure they'll have Christmas ornaments on display - if they don't already.
Anyway, as I said, the bear and surf board are from Newton's Nook. The palms and clouds are from MFT and the sentiment from Lawn Fawn. I used distress inks for the sand and sky.
I'll enter this at The Male Room Challenge (surf's up) and at Inky Paws Challenge (theme challenge).
