Spinning Around in CIrcles

The story of my life at times is like this mouse - spinning around in circles - but this one is spinning around to celebrate!  Just a birthday card that I'm sure I'll be needing in the next month or so.

The image is from Colorado Craft Company and the rest of the card came about from scraps from  my desk.  I'm really trying to use up some ribbon now since I have enough for an army.  Ribbon is something that's just so pretty you can't pass it up - and then it starts breeding in the craft room.

Moving right along.......... I thought I'd show you one of the quilts I'd done a while back.    It's a log cabin quilt and instead of quilting it on the sewing machine I hand tied it.  Just something different but  I think it made it fluffier.   Another one for Goodwill when I die I guess!

Thanks for stopping by..........and keep smiling.

Lynn

That card is just precious with the spinning mouse and I love the ribbon! I have 4 shoeboxes full of the stuff, so yes - it does breed in the craft room for sure! LOL That quilt is absolutely STUNNING and I cannot imagine hand-tying the whole thing! It must have been so cumbersome to do that by hand, but what a gorgeous result! That's a family keepsake without a doubt! Right now I am sleeping with a hand-made quilt on my bed that my grandmother made and I remember her every night I cover up with it!

I love the card...so cute! I am really in awe of the quilt. Log cabin is my second favorite quilt pattern, next to flying geese. This is stunning. My favorite color, too. I started a blue flying geese scrap quilt in blues much like yours. I did it before I knew how to quilt. All the scraps were from clothing I had made for my family. Everything was lopsided and uneven. I was going to throw it out, but decided to just put it away in a closet. Well, thirty five years later, after I had some quilting lessons, I found it! I took it all apart, removed the threads, took the blocks apart and ironed all the pieces. I then re-cut all the triangles with a smaller pattern piece so they were cut uniformly. I cut new white pieces, which was just easier that trying to fix the old ones. I finally started piecing the geese back together. That's when my spine collapsed. Someday, I will get back to it again. I have about four family members that have asked me to make them quilts. Quite annoying. My oldest daughter wants a Christmas quilt before I die. I would just tell her I'll teach her how to do it, but she lives quite far away. She's waiting for a toddler quilt for her son. I have to start that soon so my quilt will wait again.

I love this adorable mouse from Colorado Craft Company. I came "this close" to grabbing the one they had for Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember event.

That quilt is gorgeous, Lynn! I'm sure it won't end up at Goodwill!! What a treasure!!

This card is so cute and it's good to build up a stash. That quilt is just gorgeous and in my favorite color. I can't imagine hand tying something so large. I had to laugh about Good Will. I keep wondering what my kids will do with all my stamps and ink and Good Will comes to mind. This quilt won't end up there I'm sure.

I think my DW would agree that the ribbon multiplies on its own. She likes ribbon, thus ribbon challenged, but has trouble with knots and bows. Love the card. The quilt is gorgeous and well done.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Love, Hugs and Blessings

Your going in circles and I'm always spinning my wheels...we are a pair! lol Love this sweet card Lynn, the mouse is too cute and I am loving the polka dot red paper. OMGosh, your quilt is gorgeous! I love the blue and white color pallet and I love the log cabin pattern. Now I know you can find someone to gift this quilt to lady instead of Goodwill although I know Goodwill would love to get their hands on this beauty! Just gorgeous! Hugs, Brenda

The card is precious! I love the cute little mouse and good for you for using up some scraps. It feels great - I'm trying to do the same. However, no matter how many I use, it seems I end up with the same amount or more. Your quilt is stunning! What beautiful work! I would hate to see it go to Good Will - wouldn't someone in your family want it? I certainly would! In any event, family or Good Will, someone will treasure this beautiful quilt!
