In The Wild

This will be a birthday card next month for my brother who loves wildlife - and especially birds. The image is from In Wilderness (SU). This fantastic sketch I used is for Sketchsaturday. I keep thinking that maybe I should have used a little distressing or something....but then I like it just as is, so why mess with it! Right!

I hope everyone had a good weekend....we spent ours watching ALOT of football. Well, actually hubby watched football and I was in the craft room - with no mojo! I struggled so bad with a sketch I wanted to try! I finally just gave up and started watching football! How bad is that!

Thanks for stopping by........

The card for your brother certainly doesn't show a lack of MOJO. Great card.

Terrific guy card! I like it even without the distressing. The watercolor effect of the DP is a perfect addition!

At first I thought the background panel was an actual piece of birch bark. It really has such an interesting pattern and color. I like how you kept the bird simple and didn't color it.

I also struggle with the decision to do any kind of distressing or ageing. When I chalk or sponge ink, I think it looks like I got my project dirty. When I tear or distress edges I think it looks like I had a problem with my cutting blade.

I really want to try all the challenges every week and sometimes I try so hard to use a sketch or color combo (and sometimes trying to combine the two) that I get frustrated and give up all together. But never once have I been desperate enough to watch football :-) ! I'm not a fan at all. One skinny guy running with a ball while a whole bunch of big guys try to knock the snot out of each other. I just don't get it.

I think your card is fabulous! I love the background behind the circle, how did you do that? Love it. I know the Mojo thing, I am trying to get into sketches but find them hard. We watched football off and on at least our favorite college and NFL teams.

Super card... am sure your brother loved it. And yes, you are right, it did not need any distressing. The green paper in the background and the twine give it a great feel.
