Back When......

Ok, I know you're probably looking at this post and thinking that there is no way this card could be for a guy! Well, believe it or not, IT IS!

This is a birthday card for a friend (guy) of mine that was, and probably still is to some extent, a "hippie" - "BACK WHEN"! He probably even still has his love beads. I know not too many of yall remember "back when" - but it was a totally different "scene" for sure. It was hard to tell the guys from the gals and you just "did your own thing" and "let it all hang out". It wasn't unusual (at all) to see guys in pink and purple with some shimmer and shine! I know I'm really telling my age with this post and as my daughter would probably say - "Mom, NO ONE IS THAT OLD!"

Even though I already had this image, if you hurry you can pick it up at Dude Time Doodles for free. This is for a challenge they're having using this image - with a chance to be a Guest Designer for December.

Thanks for stopping by........

Lynn

Lynn this is just great!! I love your post also!! I worked with a friend who was a die hard hippie from back in the day and she would get sooo angry at the kids that called themselves hippies today.. it was funny.

How adorable! I remember that era, er, um, from watching the History Channel. :)

I got my Thanksgiving card and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! All of my stamping and scapping friends have commented on it and say how talented you are! I have to agree.

Hugs,

Hiya Lynn,

I tried leaving a comment yesterday but it went all funny - I thought I would just leave it for the time being.

This card is cool... the colours are great and I love the papers. The image is funny! I think it is VERY apt for your hippie buddy.

And lest I forget - the sentiment fits so well.

The colors and patterned paper really suit the "groovy" image. I remember the 70s well and was a bit of a hippie myself.
