One Big Button and a Door

I made a card similar to this last year but it wasn't for Christmas.  It's another one of  my "git 'er done" cards (CAS).  I think the hardest part is fraying those edges on the material to get it to look decent.  I made two of these - one having a green button on it and the other a clear button.  The one with the green button looks cute but just wasn't showing up that good for a photo.  The sentiment is from SU's Warm Words.  Then I just had to add the little bell on some red floss.

My second card is a CASE of a card I saw on Donna's Designing Keepsakes blog.  I really liked her door better, but here's my ATTEMPT at making one.  I made the wreath using a MS punch and added several red rhinestones to it.  The "door knob" is a small brad (and probably should have been a larger brad) and the panels were stamped with a SU background stamp and then popped up on dimensionals.  I don't have a scoring tool so did all the scoring on the panels/door with my paper cutter and a stylus (so, there is some scoring on this but you really can't see it in the photo - which may not be a bad thing!!!).

Thanks for stopping by...........
Lynn

Two fabulous holiday cards, Lynn!! I love the button on the frayed plaid and that sweet jingle bell on the first. And your beautiful 4 paneled door with your punched wreath is divine!

Both of these are terrific, Lynn! I love the door and will have to CASE that one. Should I give credit to you or to Donna? :-D I adore the plaid fabric you chose for the first card, and the little jingle bell just makes the whole card! Fantastic!

Lynn, I love your Get'er done card. That is one of my favorite plaid patterns. That sentiment with your ribbon and bell it just precious. I'm going to have to CASE this one for sure. It is total class. I am honored that you cased my card (that I cased), but I truly love the red door and that wreath with the MS Punch is fabulous, especially with the added red rhinestones. When enlarged I can see your scoring and it look very good. The way you did this card is just stunning. Thanks for giving me such good ideas.

Love your cards, what a great idea with the frayed fabric and button, such a CAS card which I just love. The door is amazing, great job on that, reminds me of CT since everyone up there has red doors, it is supposed to mean something like the pineapples we had, means "Welcome". Have a great Thanksgiving, hope hubby is doing better.
