CAS and Ribbon

One of the challenges recently at Less is More or Casual Friday  - or somewhere.....was to make a CAS card and use ribbon.  As usual, I'm too late to enter it into the challenge but for some reason it stuck in my mind so decided to make one anyway.

This was actually going to be a one layer card (wouldn't you be proud of me, Kathy!), but it was just too flat looking.  So after I stamped the squares and added the sentiment - and ribbon, I went back and stamped the squares again and popped them up and then angled them on top of the original ones.  So much for a one layer card!  The ribbon is some I found at Walmart in the sale bin and really like the colors.  It has just a tiny tint of pink in it and is really pretty - just looks a little ucky in the photo!

Thanks for stopping by...............
Lynn

Lynn, Your card screams Spring to me. I think it would have been very pretty as a one layer card, but I like it very much with your second layer, popped up angled sqaures. Your ribbon doesn't look yucky to me and I can see the pink in it. I just managed to pick up a couple of rolls of ribbon in a sale box also. I love it when I get good finds that way. Enjoy you day. Talk to you soon.

Jeepers Lynn... this is so pretty and who would have thought a few squares and a ribbon could make such a gorgeous card. I totally admire your skills because for me, if I don't have my markers, I probably don't get a card!

I am glad you made your card anyway, Lynn, as it's just beautiful!! This is so classicly elengant and the design is really great - the contrast of the green and pink are just lovely. Very springy! :)

I'm so glad you posted your card even without the challenge, Lynn - it is so lovely! I love the color combo and the contrast of the pink and green and GINGHAM is my fave (right after ric-rac, lol) so this just drew me in - so classicly elegant and ever so lovely! Beautifully done! x0x0

So different from what you make generally, Lynn, love it. Super soft colour combo. And what a nice stamp that is... Unusual ribbon as well!!! Looks lovely - the ribbon, I mean.

What an interesting way to use the squares, Lynn! I like them popped up and turned. Pretty ribbon. The squares pick up the color in the ribbon.

I am proud of you for thinking about it, it is a tough thing to get use to, but watch out once you start you can't stop :). This is a lovely CAS card, love the ribbon and how it has the squares like the front and such great colors.

I love this "not-quite-one-layer" card, Lynn. I can't seem to do just single layer cards, either. :-( Even adding just one more layer seems to make all the difference in my mind about it being 'finished'. Oh, well -- we try.

What a nice and preppy color scheme!! I love it! I made my LIM card this weekend too! I think mine is posting right under the deadline!

I like the popped up layer!! Close but no cigar on the one layer - but who cares...it's a great card!!
