The Lonesome Tree

I know you're probably looking at this card and thinking - where in the world did she come up with THAT!  LOL!  This is soooooo not me!

A group I belong to on SCS called Stamp Addicts decided to start doing a technique challenge among ourselves to try to learn some new things.  Darlene got it all coordinated and our fist challenge is the Reflection technique.  You can find directions on how to do this in the Resources at SCS.

Anyway, I read through the tutorial, then read it again - and again.....Ok, I can do that!  But then when I started putting the stamp to the paper it was a totally different story!  This was the end result.....and I really wasn't going to put that sentiment there, but, it's covering up this wonderful  smudge!!!  After stamping this baby about 15 times to try to get it right, I sure wasn't going to worry about a little smudge!

I keep thinking of it as a work of art - you know, the further you get back from it the better it looks!!! So scoot back from your computer screen and you'll see what I mean.........looks pretty awesome now, doesn't it! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by...........
Lynn

Lynn, your post is so funny! Your card is beautiful - good job with the technique - exactly how it is supposed to look! It is a work of art - you signed it, right?

Lynn, I think it's incredible! I'm going to have to go find that tutorial. If I manage anything nearly as successful as yours, MAYBE I'll post it on my blog. :-D

This is yet ANOTHER technique I haven't tried. I have my list by my computer of challenges to do - so I will add this!!

Sentiments are great for smudges!!! LOL I've been known to cover mine via sentiments or ribbon :)

I would guess a stamp-a-ma-jig would be a perfect tool for this technique for aligning the stamp too!

Love it Lynn! Great job!
Maria :)

Actually, Lynn it's looks pretty good up close. I've tried the reflection technique and it wasn't easy to get it to look good. Maybe it's one of those things you have to do a lot to get the hang of it.

Wow!!! You nailed this dead-on!! I totally love how the reflection is a little faded, because that's exactly how reflections are IRL. I LOVE THIS CARD!! The grass is super pretty and matches the style of the whole card.
LOL, I can't even count how many times an extra little something has covered up one of my boo-boos. I'm telling you, this card rocks!

Lynn, It looks good to me close or far. I love that technique, but I only do it about once a year because I'm not good at it. Love how you covered your smudge. Have a great night.

Lynn, this is beautiful! I've always intended to try this technique, but haven't gotten around to it! You pulled it off quite well! So you put things in odd places on cards to cover up smudges too?! And here I thought I was the only one...LOL! :)
