Same and Different

Yep, same image and two different cards!  Both are CAS but were really fun to do.  I used the You're My Type image from SU and did one in blue and one in pink.  I did a different type of bow on the blue one - and the little rascal keeps flying apart!  I'm going to have to work on that I'm afraid.  I stamped the typewriter in Versa Mark, used black embossing powder, and then heat set.  I actually sewed around the edges on the blue one but I did it in a light colored thread and you can't probably see it unless you click to make the picture larger....and I even sewed semi straight lines!!!

Ok how many out there in Blog Land remember this kind of typewriter???  Telling my age, but I actually learned how to type on one of these little jewels.  I was SO excited the first time I got to type on an electric typewriter - thought it was the best thing since sliced bread!  Now we have computers.....just amazing!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.......
Lynn

Hiya Lynn,
Love the paper on the firsr card - so elegant and soothing and the sentiment on the second card is so witty... that bow is so unusual - sorry that it was misbehaving... just hold it by it's ears and ask it to stay there! Lol!
I am loving CAS!!!

Monica

They are beautiful Lynn. How different they look! I remember the old electronic typewriter with the daisywheel. You had to put in one for CAPS and one for lowercase...LOL Stunning work. Sharon

I'm 40 years young and had to work on this type of typewriter!!! I remember having to use white out to correct mistakes too (before they had the correction tape added to the machines).

I can't imaging using them BEFORE whiteout!!

Love both cards. Ribbon on the first - awesome!!

Hearts coming off the second...LOVE!!!

Remember erasing your mistakes on those babies? Ha! Loved your cards; I'm swooning over that Everyday Enchantment DSP you used in the first one. Must get more... Thanks for your lovely comments! It's good to "see" you, too! :)

Warmly,
Sara

This typewriter takes me back in time. I remember the first electric I typed on. I like the computer better for fixing all the mistakes! Love both cards and think that blue ribbon treatment is wonderful. Hopefully you can get it to stay together. I like the stitching too.

Oh, so many memories ... Can you believe the other day someone asked me at work if I had any carbon paper. I had to laugh. Not sure why they would have needed it. Your cards are adorable!

I am raising my hand because I do remember this typewriter, but then I remember when color tv was introduced :) Love your cards, such a great job with the black embossing, that ends up being a mess for me. Lucky said he has lots of room in his Jeep so come on along. Not sure he knows about the ocean yet. Have a great weekend.

I remember these gorgeous typewriters and the lovely clunk of the keys. I was pretty rubbish at changing the ribbon though! Electric typewriters seemed so space-age when they came in and then - oh my goodness, the first computers happened! I love these cards Lynn - the typewriter is just the thing to set off those gorgeous papers.

Yep, my hand is raised - in fact, I had a year of typewriter class in high school. It was horrid, lol. I actually still have a working typewriter - its in my dh's home office where I keep "saying" i'm going to write my book. When in fact I use my laptop, lol.

Gorgeous cards - love how you gave us a view of it in two different looks! Beautiful!

Yep, I learned on one of those old Royals, too! Remember how hard we had to pound the keys compared to the keyboards of today? Love both versions of the card and the paper on the blue one is just delightful! When I'm layering ribbon or bows, I use super sticky double sided tape. Never comes apart. If you want to know where to find the best tape ever, e-mail me. You can find it on line. Hugz.

I have a thing for typewriters, so I adore BOTH of these cards. It is amazing what a different color scheme can do...these look totally different, yet equally perfect.

Yep, I learned to type on one of these dinosaurs too :) Great cards in both colors, and I really like the bow on the blue one. Have you ever tried scor-tape? That stuff really holds with just a tiny piece, hidden under all those layers! NJ!!

Isn't it fun to see how cards can look so different by just changing the colors? This is a set I have my eye on! Great cards!

Great cards Lynn, and I do hate to say that I too remember this typewriter. In fact learned how to type on one. Much prefer the computer...at least you can make many copies and correct your spelling errors much easily.

Fab job on the C&S Lynn!! That image sure brings back memories! I still have one just for looks ;)

Both of these are fantastic! Love that sale-a-bration paper!! The hearts are a wonderful addition to the second card.
While we had electric typewriters at school, I did use one of these at home and didn't have an electric until I went to college. Just look at us now!

Wonderful job on these two. Have to confess, I really like the blue one! LOL about sewing straight, cna totally relate. And, yes, I also learned to type on one of these beasts. This was pre "carple tunnel syndrome". Maybe that's where it all originated from!!
