Driving Like Hell

I don't know about a Funny Friday - but I do have a Fun Friday here I think........

I live in an extremely small town in Texas and the nearest "larger" town is Hondo (about 5,000 people!).  Back in the 1930's (and NO, I was not even thought about then!!!) the Hondo Lions Club erected a sign on the main highway running through town.  Due to many complaints by the citizens, in the 1940's they re-did the sign to include the word "Please".  This is very much a "picture taking" attraction in Hondo and has been in many magazines, newspapers, etc.  It even made the cover of National Geographic magazine!  Sorry it's so blurry.  Thought y'all may like to see it...........

Now on to my card........looks like this little guy and his dog didn't pay much attention to the sign at all!  But they are having fun!  The image is a freebie that I found on the OWH site.  I made the cloud background using Tumbled Glass distress ink and tore some CTMH white core paper for the "ground".  The image was colored with Prismas and then popped up.  The sentiment is from OCL.  I think this will be a fun card for a young boy - or maybe even a man, to bring back memories of his childhood.!

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

Cute stuff, what an awesome card, loving how you popped it up and the clouds with the ground. That sign is too funny and then to add the please, at least they are polite. Have a great weekend, our warm weather is gone for a couple of days :(

Now that is the funniest sign, Lynn! LOL! How neat that your state (city) has been in Nat'l Geographic and beyond :) And what a superb card! I love the torn paper as the grass and this is definitely how every little boy should grow up - wind in his hair as he's doing something daredevil and with his doggie! Just PERFECT!! x0x0

Lynn, Love the card and the sign. I think all town and cities should have that sign. Great job on your sky and grass. Fabulous coloring and the twine is just the right touch. Have a wonderful weekend.

What a great sign! Something like this is more effective than any number of speed cameras (do you have those over there?) I love your card - the way you stamped the go kart with the back wheels up is very clever and gives a real impression of a bumpy ride!

Fun-tastic card, Lynn! Very creative sky and ground. Love the sign at Hondo, and I've seen photos of it before, though I don't remember where. Your post today has given me a smile to start my Friday. Here's one in return. :-D
