Chicken Talk

I'm back again with Funny Friday!  Yeah!  Take a look at the chicken - isn't it just the cutest!  Love that expression!

The image is from Crackerbox Palace and you MUST check out their blog and store!  Right now, if you become a follower and comment on either their blog or Karen's blog, you have a chance of winning one of the featured stamps this week!

Back to talking chickens!  Even though we live out in the country, we don't have chickens - thank goodness.  The little chicks are always so cute but the bottom line is that basically they're nasty little critters!  My husband grew up on a farm that had a bunch of chickens and he tells me about having to butcher them, etc....and then every Sunday for lunch, they'd have fried chicken.   Just hearing him tell what all they had to do makes me never want to put a piece of chicken in my mouth again.  Anyway.........a couple of years ago a lady down the road from us had chickens and her dog kept killing them.  Jim stopped by one day and she was complaining about it.  I'm not going to go into what he suggested she do (and she did) to keep the dog from smoking out the chickens - don't want to lose all my followers, but I will say it wasn't cruel - just not pretty.

So, this little chick made the "cut" and didn't get eaten by the dog but she's wondering if she's going to be in the next pot of soup!

Inside..................

I haven't been very chatty the last couple of days and guess I MORE than made up for it today!  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.........so, what's for dinner tonight!!!!!!
Lynn

Lynn... this card is wonderful! First of all the papers are smokin' and I love how they match your theme so perfectly. Then the image, my gosh, that is a cute chicken. The sentiment could not be more perfect... it's funny and I had a good chuckle.

bahaha! See now, I'm totally curious about the solution! My oldest LOVES chickens - all animals, really - but chickens are his favourite bird, hands down.
I LOVE that sentiment on the inside, that's hilarious :)

You know, I think if we all had to kill and prepare our own food, a lot less meat would be eaten! Love your cute card Lynn and surely no-one could think of hurting that little cutie - just look at her eyes!

Love this little chick. I need to find that stamp, as I have a Sis-in-law who has the chicken theme in their house. This one would be perfect and I love all the elements you used. This card is going to cheer somebody up a whole lot. TFS

LOVE the sentiment and your card is wonderful! I love the chicken wire paper and the happy red bow and buttons!!
I grew up on a farm, raising chickens and to this day, I can not stand the smell of wet feathers! I love the eggs, but the hens can die of old age as far as I'm concerned!!
