Guilty As Charged

I love looking at everyone's blog - so much inspiration and gorgeous cards!  All the coloring, layering, vintage, CAS, whatever - they're just a all so lovely.  I really do love coloring the images and coming up with something that's hopefully unique and pretty - and then ever so often I just want to punch out something and slap it on a card!  So yes, I'm guilty!!!  I punched out this bird and slapped it on a card!  Hey, I did stamp the sentiment though and even embossed the little wing - that's a plus!

Now, here comes the really weird part I'm afraid.  After doing the little bird and stamping "happiness" under it, all I could think of was the ditty.....may the blue bird of happiness fly up your nose!!!  I don't have any idea where I've heard this before - it may even be in some song from a hundred years ago - but that's all I can think of when I see the card now.  I know, I REALLY worry about myself sometimes too!  LOL!

The cue word at CASology is "Blue" and since that's my favorite color I have to enter this little blue bird!

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

Actually I do believe Little Jimmy Dickens sang:
May the bird of paradise fly up your nose. May an elephant caress you with his toes, May you wife be plagued with runners in her hose, May the bird of paradise fly up you nose! I don't remember anything I learned in school but I do remember that song! Fun card and a very pretty CAS!

You know some people can slap things together and other people can't. You do a fabulous job at slapping. Especially the embossing part. Good going girlfriend. Great card that anyone would be happy as anything to receive.

Very cute. You do CAS so well. Reminds me of the dove bring a branch back to Noah after the flood. I bet they were all happy.

Gorgeous CAS card! I think most of the time simple is better and this is no exception.

Delightful little card, Lynn! The quote about the blue bird of happiness -- Johnny Carson used that all the time when he was hosting The Tonight Show years ago. He'd often say it to Ed McMahon when Ed had managed to get some laugh from the audience at Johnny's expense. I know, I know, most of the world thinks that show started with Jay Leno but some of us still remember when Johnny Carson was the newbie and everybody said he'd never be as big as "What'sHisName", who hosted the show before Carson. lol

I thought of the bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover! Obviously blue birds have a firm place in people's minds! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CASology this week, Lynn!

Hi Lynn, Loved your bluebird...and he does look happy. Will bring some happy to whomever he visits on your card too. Like the clean simplicity of it. And Tammy's right: Jimmy Dickens sang the song, I remember from way back in the dark ages! It was cute too. TFS a sweet card.

It might be 'slapped on there' but it sure is pretty! Fabulous CAS design and I love how your little song musing led to so many great comments! Depending on who the card goes to, you could always use that as your inside sentiment! Wonderful card!!

So cute! Love the simplicity. And hey...you feel like giving somethin' a PUNCH? YOU GO GIRL!!!
Two things I long to be better at...CAS and shabby chic....two opposite ends of the spectrum. I haven't mastered either one. But that doesn't keep me from admiring cards like this!
Very simple, and understated. Reminds me of the Twitter bird...I guess you have to be understated with Twitter too with a limit of typed characters...I don't really have the hang of that either!
Cute - Cute - Cute card! The embossed wing was brilliant!
