Lovin' That Bug

Since Valentine's Day is only a couple of weeks from now, I figured I'd better get off my duff and get some cards made - at least for the grand kids.  I actually got two finished and need to finish the rest so it won't be Easter when I get these mailed!

I used a Hero Arts stamp on both cards.  LOVIN' THAT BUG!!!!  I always wanted one of these but never got one.  No, I wasn't a hippie, but did love the car.  When I was a senior in high school my dad surprised me with a vehicle - and I was really keeping my fingers crossed the he'd gotten the "bug", but got a GTO instead.  I really don't think he would have ever bought me something like that if he'd had any earthly idea how fast those babies could fly.  So I didn't get the "bug" but DID get a lot of guys that wanted me for a girlfriend!  LOL!!

I did a lot of paper piecing on this first card to kinda jazz it up a bit.  Um......actually did pretty much the same paper piecing on the second one too.....of well...  The sentiment I used on this is from Hero Art.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Simon Says Stamps Challenge (paper piecing) and at Totally Stampalicious (paper piecing).

The jury is still out on this one.  Yes or no?  Just seems like a LOT of red on here.  Same image, paper piecing, a SU sentiment, and an embossing folder from Paper Studio.

I used the sketch from Sweet Stop Sketches and will enter it in their challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.
Lynn

How crisp and fresh looking these cards are, Lynn. I like the first one, it is more your style - CAS, which I LOVE.
Anyway, the second one is lovely too with the heart embossing. The font of the sentiment is so neat.
I read the compliments you gave to Aleeza - thanks a heap. Atleast one of my girls is doing art and craft.

Love,
Monica

Oh Lynn, I LOVE these cards! Great paper piecing, and I actually prefer the 2nd one! The polka dot ribbon breaks everything up and perfectly balances all the red! LOVE that little bug!

Two fun cards!!!
Didn't we all want a bug!? I still think of it today.....a little convertible.....toolin' around in it.

There's still time for both of us to get one!!

Love the embossed hearts on the 2nd card!
Great job!

I absolutely love them both, Lynn! I don't generally use red except at Christmas and for Valentines but I don't think the second card has too much red. Nope, it has exactly the right amount. :-D Love your take on the sketch for that one.

Love your "bug" Lynn. The details with the paper piecing really make it a "love bug" for Valentine's Day. I did see a bit of Texas as we flew into the Huston airport on our way home.

I never had one of these cars either, but always wished I did. I still ask DH to get me one!

I LIKE red...not too much for me. The white tones it down too. We used to own a bug (long years ago) and I loved the paper piecing. Like the way you used the diecuts to frame Little Lovebug. So cute. Good luck in the challenge. TFS

Both of these are great, but you know me and my love for CAS! I think the first is my favorite.

I had to laugh at your Bug story. I'm sure just about anyone would call the GTO an 'upgrade' from the Bug!! I always wanted one too and ended up with an old Rabbit for a while. Not at all the same thing...
