Blooming

If you've ever seen a dogwood blossom you know they're usually pink or whitish.  Since blue is my favorite color and this is my card, I figured I could make them any color I wanted!  So, I present you with blue (turquoise) dogwood flowers.

This beautiful stamp is from Impression Obsession that I stamped, colored, then stamped and colored again to pop up on dimensionals.  The background was sponged with Antique Linen.  The card stock I used was Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede.

Some beige sheer ribbon and bow were added and the card was completed.......UNTIL I noticed I had some type of smudge!  Of course it couldn't have been in a good place - so in order to cover it up I had to place the pearls as such.  Kinda wonky looking, but hey, again, it's my card so guess I can put those little guys any where I wish!

As I said, the stamp is from Impression Obsession and it's called Dogwood 3.  You can find it here.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Impression Obsession (Bloom Where You Are Planted) and the challenge at Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge Blog (Anything Goes).

Thanks for stopping by.......
Lynn

Dogwoods are lovely no matter the color, and your card is superb! I especially like the 3-D effect you've done with the double images. This is a lovely, lovely card!

Oh, this makes me wish they did bloom in blue, Lynn! Magnificent coloring and a bow to die for. :-D My granddaughter would be very pleased, btw. She's the one who always told me, "I can color the sky whatever color I want. It's my picture." Gotta love the freedom of being a child.

I would love to have a blue dogwood tree! These flowers are so pretty. Your pearl cover up looks great. I had to do that the other day and it really did look wonky. Maybe I need to go back and add a couple more!

What a beautiful card. Quite often I make my dogwood flowers blue and purple. I figure if I'm coloring I'll pick the colors I like. I love that you popped your flowers up and your sponging looks lovely. I see you have learned from me (the best there is) to cover up boo boos. LOL. I think your pearls look great and no one would have known about your boo boo if you hadn't let us in on the secret. Enjoy your day.

I happen to love BLUE dogwoods! We have pink ones in our yard (really, more white than pink, but they are supposed to be pink). I have this stamp (think mine is Hero), and I totally love it. Your pearls were great (you know I chuckled reading that bit, don't you? Sounds like me). Popping up some flowers took this one over the top, and sheer ribbon made it look so airy. Good job! It didn't look at all wonky!! Beautiful more like it. TFS & Hugs
