Out of the Rut

I was scrolling through my blog the other day for some reason and felt like all my cards were looking exactly the same!!  A rut!!!  So, even though this is a clean and simple card, I did try using some of my Distress Inks and sprinkling a little water on them, etc.  The blending isn't perfect at all, but I'm working on that.  The image is from Serene Silhouettes (SU) and was stamped with CTMH ink.  I used some of the Confetti White card stock (also from SU) and love the color of that stuff, but don't really care for all the "confetti" in it.  All of the specks were almost covered up by the main image panel.  Just something a little different for me.

Thanks for stopping by...........
Lynn

WOW I love that background, it's just beautiful. I disagree with your thinking on all of your cards looking the same. I think you have quite a big variety of designing and layouts. I enjoy each and every one of your cards. Enjoy the week.

Gorgeous background! I want to try that water splattered background! It's so perfect for the Serene Silhouettes! And I don't think you are in a rut. Me maybe, but not you. You use a variety of images.

Not sure what you didn't like about your blending..looked lovely to me. Your water spots were great! I can't get mine to look that way. Must be the different ways we 'flick our fingers', eh? This card is very serene in look, yet still has your signature 'clean & white' touch. I think it's great...you did a good job. Love that silhouette against your colors...like a Texas sunset???Hugs & TFS - also, I didn't think you were in a rut either!!!

Beautiful...I think it is perfect as is...the whole beauty of the inky look to me is the randomness of it!

Oooo, I love the exact effect you got on your background, Lynn. I don't know what else you'd need to practice -- this is magnificent! I have a ton of that confetti white paper and forget to use it. Depending on the project I'm doing, sometimes I love the confetti and other times I really could do without it. :-D

Huh? Your cards don't look the same... you have a style and I suppose that might make it appear that way but don't ever change.
I love this background Lynn and you've inspired me to give it a go. I definitely get into a rut so this would be a nice change up.

WOW. This is crazy cool - such an amazing inked panel & yet so much white space - you are incredible! I know what you mean about feeling in a rut - no one else sees it, though. Trust me :)

Lovely to see 30 comments on this, Lynn, and know so many others stopped to tell you how much they like this card! I simply am drooling here. I love that the blending isn't perfect, because to me your background looks like a stained glass with sunlight shining right on the flower heads. Really stunning card!!
