Old is New

Vicki, over at Stamp Smiles, has a weekly challenge where she wants to see "old".  Well, good golly!  I though she was talking about ME!  No, she wants to see us revive those old stamps, etc.  Check out the Flasback Friday Challenge!!

I'm pretty sure this stamp was given to me when I first started stamping and I've never, ever inked it up.  Mainly because it's just really not "me".   But, a challenge is a challenge, so......I got it colored and then had no idea what to do with it!  When that happens I usually just slap it on a piece of patterned paper and call it a day - which I just did with this!  For some unknown reason when I got to the top portion I colored all those little squares (that are hidden by the pearls) in YELLOW!  I have no earthly idea whey I'd do that!  Anyway, it was really looking weird in yellow so I stuck some small pearls over it.  Done deal!  The sentiment is also an old stamp and I embossed that with some of the Platinum embossing powder.  At least I have another birthday card finished now.

Here's a picture of the two stamps I used.  The sentiment is an old one from SU and the flowers are from PSX.  Also on the side of the flower stamp it has "stamp class" and "flawed".  I still don't see where it was flawed but with all those flowers bunched together like that there's no telling what's hiding in there!  You can see it's been used a LOT by someone anyway!

Thanks for stopping by............
Lynn

This may not be "you" but you did it proud. With that precise and beautiful coloring it is a gorgeous birthday card. The pearls do add a nice touch. Have a good day. So far we still have power and Jack is having a ball snow blowing.

This old stamp my not be YOU in your mind but it splashes all over the card that it is most certainly you, unless of course someone else did this beauty for you. LOL. It is feminine and very personal. Whoever eventually gets this card is going to love it. You should do more of this kind of card. - Jim

Yep, this is different from your usual CAS style, but you've done it beautifully. The coloring is fantastic, and since I love flower motifs, I'm really enjoying this one. Your pearls added such class & elegance and smart you - to think of covering up the color you didn't like. I LOVE this PSX stamp. Great job. TFS & hope the day was a good one. Hugs

Well for this stamp not being "you" you did a great job with it Lynn! I love the pearls at the top, so I am glad you didn't like what you colored it in. lol The flowers are colored so pretty and this really made a pretty card. I though, know what you mean about a stamp not being you. But yes, now you have a beautiful birthday card in your stash now! Hugs, Brenda

This turned out really pretty! Love the pearls and all that detailed coloring! I use pearls a lot to cover up "why did I do that" and those smudges that keep showing up! Sometimes I have to use the big ones!

I have just a couple PSX stamps and they are just so lovely! And I can definitely relate to the 'um, why did I colour it like that?' scenario :)

This is so pretty and very elegant and classy. I love florals but don't stamp them often so when I see a fab card like this, it makes me want to dig them out. Lovely card Lynn.
