Don't know if this is common knowledge or not, but Santa actually resides in Miami and not at the North Pole like you've thought for many years. It's true! I mean, if several of the pro basketball players can believe that the world is flat, I can surely believe that Santa lives in Florida! Why not? (That's probably the reason Santa likes going down the chimney's too - I'm sure he doesn't see too many of those in Miami)!
So anyway.......we go from beady to blob! You know how all those cute little stamps from Penny Black have the beady eyes - well, this cute cat from there had them too. I was scooting along pretty good doing a little bit of coloring on him and decided to sorta dot the eyes a bit with the Copic. Really BAD idea! All of a sudden the ink came flowing out of the Copic! Yikes! All that was there was a huge blob. I really hated to toss the card since I'd already masked it off and did the clouds and "sand", so I just gave him sunglasses - he DOES live in Miami, after all. The little crab from Lawn Fawn just had to be added too. (Looks like it's already been cooked - or has a terrible sunburn).
The first challenge where I want to enter this is over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies! It's a brand new challenge that Connie has started. So much fun - and all you have to do is use a critter. Looks like I have two of them - the cat and crab!
The next challenge is from Darnell - April Fool's Boo-Boo. Even though it was no fault of my own for a change, I did have the big boo-boo and just used that to give him sunglasses. I've never used this Penny Black cat before so it qualifies for the NBUS.
Thanks for stopping by..............
Lynn

I love his sunglasses, Lynn! Of course he lives in Miami. It's only the elves he leaves behind at the North Pole, working away in the toy shop. I'm just so tickled that you are supporting us in our new 'critter' challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies and I'm wishing you the best of luck in the draw. :-D

Haahaa Lynn this made me laugh, he is one cool Santa !!! And that Sky looks fantastic!
I hope you had a lovely weekend x
Way to inspire us with how to change boo-boo blobs into cool cat shades, Lynn! In fact, he would have looked really silly sitting in that hot sun on the sand WITHOUT sunglasses on! So you improved him!! (Note to Penny.) Your clouds are awesome, by the way! Thank you so much for being a good sport and sharing your boo-boo and joining in my NBUS Challenge #11! Love ya, Darnell
That's a genius fix for that glob of ink boo-boo! The sunglasses look perfect with the blue skies and warm sunshine! Love the sunburned crab too :) Way to save that card and make it look great to boot! I believe Santa lives in Florida too - I mean, just look at your card! That's all the proof I need :)
Awww this is so cute Lynn! I love the fabulous scene you created and his sunglasses are adorable, that crab looks so happy too!!

LOL. I've had the blob copic thing happen to me several times. You really saved your cute card. I think it was a happy mistake. Your kitty looks adorable.
Well, I think adding the sunglasses over the boo boo just made it even more perfect for your design. So cute and fun!
How clever you are...I would NEVER have thought to do that...great save...to make this card what you thought was a boo boo. To a masterpiece!
Hi Lynn, what a relief that the blob from the Sharpie fell right on the cat's eye. What a brilliant idea to make him wear sunglasses in the intense heat with the sun shining so bright. The crab is very cute and I am so proud of you for not giving up on this fantastic card.
So glad to see your humour back in form. May it stay that way,
Monica
What a great 'save' Lin - and I do love how you have given him sunglasses and a beach - a fabulous card!! No Santa does not live in Miami - that's a Kiwi (N.Z.) beach there!!
Blessings
Maxine
What a brilliant rescue for a boo-boo - the sunglasses are perfect for the theme of your card. And that little crab is the most adorable finishing touch

What a great save, Lynn! I am sure Darnell will appreciate this one!
What a delightful design Lynn, good save on the eyes. Your background masking is fabulous and love the little crab.

Gosh, I didn't know Santa lived in Miami! lol Well know, I'm at a stand still knowing this. lol Your card is adorable Lynn! I love this cute image and the scene you have made! Your mistake is a happy one as this little cutie looks so great in sunglasses!! And had you not told us of the mistake, I would have been non the wiser because it looks like he came with the sunglasses!! Your crab is definitely sunburned. lol Love the sky and sand, you have definitely made this a Miami scene Lynn and I love it! Hugs, Brenda
Great job of making lemonade, Lynn! The sunglasses are totally appropriate and that blob was for a good reason! Love the crab too! And red crabs are so much more interesting than any other color!
I love the Santa Kitty sunglasses!! After all, he is cool dude and it is awfully bright in Florida! You always make such fun cards! I love coming to your blog for a good chuckle or two!!
It is so cute how you turned a mistake into an adorable card. So cute.
Love this delightful card!! Sand crabs need love, too!
Now this was a really cute boo-boo save, because of COURSE all cats in Miami wear shades. (and I know this to be true!). I also know that Santa does like Miami, cause he gets bloomin' tired of the North Pole cold! Your coloring is cool, and love your save...If you hadn't told on yourself, no one would know. The red crab was perfect with Cool Cat because these critters do scrabble along the beachfront (we had blue ones, that would smash under the car tires as you drove along the beach road...you just couldn't manage to miss them, they would be so thick on the road!) TFS & thanks for the grin. Hugs
I would not call the blob eyes a boo-boo. I am guessing people may case this cute idea. Delightful card.
You are such a stitch! I guess Santa does live in Miami- LOVE this fab card and the sunglasses are awesome.
Great card and I love the story! The Copic Blob has happened to me and it is immediate panic. I just had a brand new one do that earlier this week but luckily it blobbed within the image so wasn't too big of a deal and I didn't have to make sunglasses.
These are never mistakes... I always say we 'create an opportunity'!
This is fabulous. Great coloring and I especially like the background. Thank you for joining our first challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies. Hugs, Teresa
Hee hee! What a story! Super cute image and I love your scene (and back story!) of this super (HOT) Santa kitty! All you are missing is the coconut :)
