Springtime Gardening

Time for Ma and Pa to do a little springtime gardening!  Actually, Ma and Pa are going to have to handle it this year as Jim and I won't have one......first time in 16 years!!!!  The part of Texas we live in is suffering from a severe drought so we decided not to plant our usual huge garden.  We love digging in he dirt, but with no rain it's kinda hard to grow much.  I'm personally going to like taking a break from all that hard work of canning everything under the sun!  So, Jim is just going to have to stand around with his garden rake and I'll make pies (yeah, right!!!).

The image is from Riley and Company and I love those little moose.  The blue DP is from SU and the orange pinstripe is digital paper from Pink Petticoat!  Thanks to that wonderful enabler Tammy for telling me about Pink Petticoat digi papers!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Riley and Co. (Spring theme) and Simon Says Stamp Challenge (anything goes).

Thanks for stopping by...............
Lynn

So adorable, Lynn! And I can tell these are pigs, either! :-D Sorry you won't have a garden this year. I'm sure by mid-summer, I could send you tomatoes and zucchini to can. I always have an overload on those two veggies and they seem to be doing especially well this year.

So cute - fab color combinations. Being from Iowa I immediately had the Grant Wood 'American Gothic' pop into my mind! Twine - a standard 'tool' on the farm!

Oh cute! I haven't seen Riley's in quite a while, and they're always a welcome sight for sore eyes! I love the colors on this one! That's going to be so hard not having a garden this year I'm sure!!

I wish any of us had a green thumb - our growing season is short but last year was the first in 10 years that we had any water shortage. It rains plenty in the summer ;) Mm, humidity, my favourite.
If you're going to be baking pies instead, I think I'll head down thataway! Or perhaps you could just hang out & colour?

No pies? That's okay, we don't want you doing anything but make cute cards. You've done a very life-like card of the two of you! I'm sorry you guys are experiencing the drought, but happy for you that you get a year off from all that work!

I love the blue and orange together! This is sure a cute picture of you and Jim! Gardening and canning is HARD work! But there's nothing better than fresh vegetables.

Lynn, this is jut adorable and I love the papers you went with here. What do you mean you won't be making pies? I was expecting you to send me up one. LOL I'm glad you will be getting a much deserved break on gardening and canning this year, but I'm sure you will also miss it to some degree. Enjoy your weekend.

So very cute. Love this image, and your orange stripes with the blue dots. So bold...liked this combo. I may get 2 tomato plants & a couple herbs to try again this year. Last year was my 1st foray in trying to grow tomatoes (in tubs on the deck). Then Life stepped in, DH had his hands full with #1 patient, and farming sort of got sidelined! It was fun watching the 'maters grow though, and the herbs smelled delicious when I watered them. TFS
