Married Life

I'm trying to practice a little on coloring with Copics and created this super CAS card for an upcoming anniversary for Jim and I.  Still don't know if I'll give it to him though because I don't want to shock him with something too sweet.

This weekend I finally decided I'd better get off my duff and start creating a little.  I've been so busy this past week and haven't been able to even think about creating.   So Saturday morning, I woke up and told Jim that "today is MY day".  I'm going back to the cubby hole and will be buried in card stuff and NOT to bother me.  And then.........

Not even an hour later, I hear - "Hey, I think we should try to plant a little garden!  All we have to do is till a small area and put some seeds in.  It won't take us long at all (notice how he used the word "us" in that statement!"

Jim is feeling a little better but still not able to do much - so, the "we" business of us doing this turned into more of a "me" business.  Four hours later I'm still digging in the dirt and feeling like a semi truck hit me after being beaten to death running that tiller.  It's all done though and now we just have to give it a little water and watch it grow......hopefully!

I'm thinking one of the key ingredients of being married is having patience!!!  Of course, wanting to wring their neck, is another one though!

I finally did get a little "ME" time in on Sunday so hopefully will be posting more - no promises though. Oh, this image is from Sarah Kaye.  It's colored with Copics, sentiment added, and a couple of tiny hearts coated with Wink of Stella.

Thanks for stopping by......
Lynn

Beautiful coloring Lynn! So glad you had a little time to create. Your card is totally adorable and sweet! Time to get out the cast iron skillet and reintroduce it to the back of Jim's head to make him behave!

I love this precious pair and I bet Jim will, too. It looks like the "younger" two of you off to put in a garden! Congratulations of the amazing love you have grown for each other over all these years!

Sweet card, Lynn, and I am sure he would love it. I always tell Jim to wait until I put my boots on, when I pull a sugary card out of an envelope. I think he feels like he can't win. As for the garden thing...Jim planted cold crops cause it was just not warming up here. Now it is in the 80's and he used space that was for tomatoes and peppers... Grrrr. I hear ya on the neck thing!

Gosh, your coloring looks amazing here! I sure do love these images and have a bunch of them that haven't even seen ink!! I do love this image!! :) Happy Anniversary to you guys!!

I can always count on you for my laugh of the day, thank you for that. I think Jim may be shock but will still love the cuteness of this one. I don't see where you need practice with Copics at all, you've got them down pat. I love the card. Yeah, don't you love the "we" statement? I'm sorry you had to do most of the work, but it will pay in the end. Very glad you did finally get your me time in the end. Have a restful day today.

Very sweet image and fab colouring Lynn..a gorgeous CAS card.
If you made the suggestion it would have been "you 'all the way...but when the male of the house does it is always "We "..I had to laugh though..and hopefully you will reap the reward when things start to grow.

This is beautiful and I think you should give it to Jim. I'm glad to hear he's feeling a bit better too. My hubby does the same thing with the "us" and "we" being changed to "me" with him supervising :-).

Thanks for the viewpoint on married life! LOL I can attest to all of it, and patience is the utmost important part of a marriage......next to respect, honesty and all those other important qualities :) I'm glad Jim's feeling better and you got a little crafting time in! I always love me some Sara Kay!! Adorable card, and happy anniversary too!

Lynn, I needed to read your blog today! I am feeling so overwhelmed. My hubby Matt had back surgery about 4 weeks ago. I had to rush him to the E.R. on Sunday, they think he is going to have to have gall bladder surgery! I am soooo worn out from taking care of him, I just put my head down and cried today! I love him so much, but wow! This is wearing me out! So reading about "your little garden" really struck home. I guess this is why we are the "long time married" gals, we do so much for them!

I love your card, very pretty!

Hugs,
Chriss

Great to 'see' you back creating and sharing Lynn - and yes, patience and the ability not to act on the thought of wringing their necks is essential in any marriage :-)

The card is so cute Lynn and the colouring is fab! I find it so hard gardening..Paul can't do any because of his health and I have spinal trouble so after I've finished doing it I can hardly walk so I know how you felt LOL lots of huggles Sue xx

Fabulous coloring, Lynn! I love that adorable little image even if it is too sweet for Jim to appreciate. :-D I can't believe you were able to handle a tiller all by yourself but am so happy for you that you got a garden in. I have tomatoes just beginning to turn from green to red, zucchinis that are almost ready to pick and another half dozen just starting on another plant. The strawberry plants are still increasing their leaves instead of putting on flowers but those will come, and my carrots have gone crazy! I can pull one or two each day for the evening's salad. The watermelon plants are vigorous in their expansion but no sign of flowers or fruit yet. The first of the peppers are nearly ready to pick and those go straight to my SIL. Good luck with yours and keep us posted as to progress.

"We" had a garden for a few years when I was much younger. It's a lot of work! I hope it grows well and that you both enjoy watching it grow! This is a sweet, sweet anniversary card! I don't think you need "practice" coloring with Copics. You always seem to have it perfected!

Such a cute image, and beautiful coloring too! You're doing great with the shading, etc. Had to laugh at your patience comment. If that ain't the truth! Hope all your soreness is gone by now, and Happy Anniversary too! TFS & Hugs

Now my Jim would like to get a card with an image like this.
I think it makes a perfect Anniversary card. Happy Anniversary to you, and, Yes, I know what you mean about the "patience" part.
Whoops, Now I have to hope that MY Jim doesn't read this...smile.

Congratulations on your upcoming Anniversary, Lynn! I hear you about the "we" becoming a "me" but in my case the tables are turned around and it is Jack who gets stuck with the extra effort, or so it seems to me. We have been harvesting green beans. Lots of other veggies growing, too. Your card really is sweet. Sometimes I think the guys like sweetness but feel they cannot openly admit it. LOL your coloring is wonderful!
