Trash to Treasure

I started making this card and didn't like it so tossed it in the trash.  It sat in there for about two days before I dug it out and decided to try and do something with it.  I'm not a "splatter girl" at all but attempted it on this card.  Looks more like it has measles than anything else  - but whatever.  The image is from My Favorite things and I used watercolors to color it.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and was embossed in gold.  The oval frame was leftover from another project.

I actually needed to send this "get well soon" card to myself!  I've been a little under the weather and that's why I haven't been around to your blog lately.  I'll be trying to catch up when I can.  I'm still not 100% but getting better - hopefully!

Thanks for stopping by........and keep smiling.........
Lynn

I don't know why you trashed this in the first place because it looks wonderful to me. Your spattering looks just fine and adds to the beauty of those gorgeous colorful flowers. I'm glad you saved it and shared it. I hope you get well soon my friend - spring's coming and you'll be wanting to get outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather! Get well hugs to you!

Wow Lynn! I think this is stunning! I love the oval popped up over the flowers as a window! the colors are brilliant and the splatters bring a nice feel to the watercolor look too! I wasn't sure about splatter at first either, but now I find myself doing it more and more! LOL I hope you start feeling better soon my friend!

I don't know why but splatter makes such a difference on a card. I'm not good at it but I don't let that stop me from doing it. Yours looks perfect and aren't you glad you rescued this from the trash. It is lovely. Send it to yourself, you will enjoy it. Seriously, I hope you are already feeling better. Sending good vibes.

Hope you are feeling better! I wasn't doing so great myself last week. I had one of those dreadful migraine headaches! Believe me, no card making while I'm having one of those.

Your card is lovely and I like your coloring and splatters. I did one for a challenge at Split coast stampers. It may be the only splatter card I will ever do...smile.

Oh, I love your card! I think it’s gorgeous splatters and all! Beautiful oval over the flower, too! I hope you are feeling better with each new day! Hugs!!

I pray it is nothing serious. Get well soon. Your "salvaged" card is very pretty. Love the spatter and coloring. The oval frame is the perfect finish. I am not a spatter person either but this is an exception. Just enough and not too much.

Hugs and Blessings

I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well, Lynn. I hope you'll feel better each day and soon be back to your shenanigans. I'd say it's good that you rescued this from the trash! These flowers are beautiful and your splatters look like splatters, not measles. Great idea to add the frame for extra interest.

I think this is a gorgeous card Lynn and I'm so glad you dug it back out the trash and continued on with it! Nothing wrong with the splatters either, but maybe it is the color you don't like? Gold, silver or black splatters would have been nice too. I really hate that you have been under the weather, that is never fun for anyone! I pray that you feel better soon and do not worry about "catching" up with blogs. We all have lives and crap happens in everyday life! Big hugs, Brenda

Oooo, Lynn, I think you brought all those elements together perfectly! Love your water coloring and the spatter. I'm not much for spattering techniques, either, but you did it so well. The circle frame really puts the focus on the flowers. I'm just so impressed!

Beautiful card and design. I often find coming up with something to fix a problem I make a nicer design than it would have been. I hope you are feeling perkier now. Emmax
