Have a Peaceful Day

It's a brand new year!  Happy 2014!  Hope you have a healthy and Happy New Year!

I know I'm probably totally weird, but I really like to make masculine type cards.  The stamp and sentiment  are from Mark's Finest Papers and I believe this bird is called a nuthatch.  I've never seen one and was too lazy to Google it to see what color they actually were - so just colored it up (with Copics) like I wanted.  If it's not the colors of a nuthatch I guess I've just come up with a new breed!  I spread a little Frantage around the image and cut it out with a circle Nestie.  The card stock I used for the base is Chocolate Chip and then added some scraps of patterned paper.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets) and Sweet Stampin' (a little bird told me).

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

Stunning work on this awesome masculine design, Lynn! If those aren't the colors for a nuthatch, than they certainly should be!

Wishing you a fun and creative new year!! Take care, my friend!

Lynn this is a stunner - love the way you have layered the background and the colouring on the bird is gorgeous - even if it may not be true to species.

Beautiful, Lynn! I have no idea what color a nuthatch should be either, but I vote for your colors. :-D That frantage is such wonderful stuff. I have to use it. You keep inspiring me with everything you do with it.

I don't know what Nuthatches look like either, so your bird looks lovely to me! Love your coloring, and your treatment of the image is really pretty. Loving that frontage stuff you've been using. It really added a lot to your little birdie. Super card to start off 2014. Gotta get back in the groove as soon as we can get sorted around here. TFS & hope your New Year was good. Hugs

Okay, this is just gorgeous one in these colors, Lynn. It is a beautiful stamp, for sure! Now, if you would like a Nuthatch lesson, he is a bit of a thing who loves to cling on the side of a tree, and hops head first, up and down. He has black, white, and blue/grey on his body. He really likes my suet feeder. Happy New Year,.

I'm late with my comments, sorry. I LOVE this card. I think it just fabulous. The Fran-tage looks great on here and I just love the way you've positioned your papers. I total winner, that I will have to try to CASE. I know mine won't look as good as yours, but I'm going to try. I don't know what a nuthatch looks like anyway, but they should look like this because it's a beautiful coloring job you've done. Enjoy the evening. We're bracing for 9-15 inches of snow, but it is suppose to be light and fluffy, thank goodness.

Who cares if it's not the correct Nuthatch colours? This card IS STUNNING.

I really love the layout, and the Nuthatch image is just lovely, and Frantage is just about my fave thing to add to a card. This is my FAVOURITE card of the week.

Holy smokes Lynn, what a gorgeous card! I love the image but your layout is really nice and I like how you coloured the nuthatch. Looks like a nuthatch to me too because I've never seen a real one either and to be honest, don't need to Google it either! That Frantage looks crazy good on here... it softens everything up and sort of looks like snow. Love it!
