Sunflower/Daisy Note

I just found a great challenge called AAA Cards and thought I'd play around this week with their sketch and see what I could come up with.

I used a die from Memory Box for the trellis and then cut some of that wonderful burlap with paper backing that Connie sent to me.  It's so nice because you can die cut it and don't have a bit of raveling.  If anyone knows where you can get that stuff, let me know because it's just great for adding to cards.  I cut the frame with a SB die and then used yet another die from SU for the daisy/sunflower.  The sentiment from Hero Arts was stamped in Versafine Brown and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I only used the sketch and not the colors on this one.  I'm so bad at color challenges and it's like a have a mental block against them!  Next time I will try though........hopefully.

Thanks for stopping by............
Lynn

Another winner from you, Lynn. The simplicity of it is a total class act in my book. I think I may have to look into picking up that trellis die. I had not heard of that burlap/paper backing, but I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you. Enjoy your day.

I'm having a hard time finding words to describe this card Lynn. It is strikingly beautiful in it's simplicity. It is a masterpiece in its own right. It should be in a display case somewhere.

Fab CAS card- love the trellis die and the burlap shape is awesome! I die cut burlap without too much trouble and it only unravels if I pull on the threads.

That burlap is simply awesome - no raveling! I don't use mine as often as I might because of all those little hairy bits. I love the trellis piece too. And I find colour challenges really challenging too :)

I have been trying to comment on my last visit but blogger would not let me enter your comment box.

I am a big fan of sunflowers and burlap together, so this card is a winner for me.

I have always wondered how I would use those intricate die cuts! This is fantastic! The lattice and burlap give a great texture and dimension to this!
