I Colored!

I know this isn't my normal type card  - but I had this image and was determined to color the dang thing!  Got it all colored and thought it looked ok and then had no earthly idea what to do with it!!  It literally sat on my desk for about three days with just me staring at it.  Ok, everyone else just about can do all those cards with the flowers, flourishes, etc. on it - so I can too!  Got busy and had all kinds of stuff on it........UCK!!  Just looked tacky!  So, I started taking off some of the flowers and flourishes and couldn't get it to look any better.  Stared at it for another day and finally decided just to slap it on a piece of patterned paper, add the sentiment and pearls and be done with it.  LOL!  So, there you have it!

I colored the image (from Delicious Doodles) with Copics and then added shine to the butterflies and flowers with the clear Wink of Stella pen.  I even colored in some eye shadow on this gal!  It's not like the "big boys" do at all and I won't be holding any coloring classes for sure - but I'm satisfied with it anyway!   The sentiment is from SU.

Thanks for stopping by.........
Lynn

Lynn, do not be so hard on yourself. I think this is a beautiful image and your coloring looks great. You did a good job with the hair...the thing I don't like to color. I love that you gave her some eye shadow. Oh, and her skin looks super. Consider yourself one of the "big boys".

Lovely hair she has and I like her eye shadow. This card is not you however it looks super elegant and graceful without the addition of a million flowers and sequins and all that jazz. I love the way you chose to present her.

We have found a home, now to close the deal and wait for our shipment to arrive.

Will visit your other creations soon,

Monica with love

Let me finish you post title for you: I colored and did a phenomenal Job. This is amazing. I have this image and was always afraid to even start to color it. And I think you did it so much justice by letting it take center stage. The pearls with the sentiment are just perfect for this card. I can't say enough about this one, Lynn. You really out did yourself here. You should frame it. Have a great weekend ahead.

Wow! This coloring is fantastic, and the image is a big WOW too. Your design reflects your taste, and I think it is super. The clean design layout & the pretty papers let your wonderful art take pride of place. It's beautiful just the way you did it, and doesn't need all the flourishes. The flourish in the sentiment is wonderful as are the dainty pearls. WTGo! TFS & Hugs

It's absolutely stunning, my friend! Your coloring is superb and when you do CAS better than anyone in the world, why would you change that for fussy and fancy? Do what you do -- it's incredible! :-D

OK Lynn. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but are you nuts. My GOD that is a spectacular coloring job. Had you covered it up with a bunch of stuff I would not have been happy. You should be very PROUD of this card and especially the image. Bravo does not do it for this one. Exceptional is more like it. WOW,WOW,WOW.

I TOTALLY understand your angst! It is hard to "work out of the card"...our go-to ideas! I too start something and then let it simmer in a pile wondering what that heck will I do with it! I think you did you a fabulous justice by letting her be the feature! BTW - if Texas wasn't such a jaunt from Iowa I would ABSOLUTELY come over for a coloring session with you - you did an amazing job oh her hair! Oh to have such natural highlights myself! (hehe) Eye shadow - I never would have thought! You 'applied' it with a light and expert make-up artist hand! She is wonderful as is her presentation!

There is some satisfaction about banishing items only to a quiet muse take you by the hand and encourage you to find a home for them! (I have a basket FULL of Copic'd items waiting to find a home on a card...)

P.S. I love your determination about making yourself use an image! I seriously laughed out loud at that one - as I have done that myself. Then I hear my practical side whispering: "what are you DOING? Life is too short to color images you don't 'bond' with!" Then my stubborn side hits me with a "you bought it now USE it!" Ahhh the life of a card maker!

I think you did good with this card. The main image is rather busy so I can see why all the flourishes, flowers, and fluff didn't work with it. You made it turn out perfect with some little pearl embellishments.
