A Privlege To Have A Privy

As some of you may already know, we live in the country (in other words, the sticks, boonies, whatever you want to call it).  When we first moved out here one of the first things my husband said he wanted to do was to build a smokehouse for making deer jerky and smoking sausage, brisket, and wild hog, etc....  I'm telling ya, he got several eye rolls from me....but I finally just said whatever!

Several months later, after coming home from work, this is what I found sitting in the BACK YARD (minus the moon)!!!  I'm SOOOOO lucky!!! LOL!

So I sat on the back patio looking at this little jewel and all I could see was an outhouse!  I finally said, it NEEDED a half moon.  The next day when I came home, this is what I had!  It's such an eyesore but a wonderful conversation piece!  LOL!  The first time Jim's sister and husband came to visit  we told them it was a real outhouse and they'd have to use it since we didn't have an inside bathroom.  The expression on their face was priceless!  If you've never used an outhouse you haven't missed a single thing - trust me on this as I know it for a fact!  LOL!   I will say this though - Jim has fixed some delicious slabs of meat out there.

And all of the above was just to introduce you to my card!!!

Several weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a challenge at Impression Obsession and this was one of the stamps I selected with with gift certificate.  They have so many pretty stamps - and several different outhouses that are so cute I want them all!  This is just your basic outhouse and thought it would be a good one to start off my collection with!

Thanks for stopping by.............and have a great weekend!
Lynn

Thank you for your story. I would love to have seen your relatives faces for myself when you said the outhouse was to be used as you had no indoor bathroom LOL.

Your card as always is fabulous. I love the image and the beautiful colours you have used. Have a fab weekend.

Lynn, I'm still laughing partly because I HAVE used an outhouse. When we were kids we went to my friend's grandmother's house on a small lake and you had the choice of the outhouse or a bucket in the bedroom. I tried both and neither was fun.
We also had to pump up the water from the ground if we needed or wanted any. Good Old Days!!??? Your outhouse on your card is a bit cuter than Jim's smoke house (no offence Jim) and I love the whole look of your card.
Side note: In our company we produced Pewter figurines and one that we made was an outhouse and it sold like gangbusters. Enjoy your weekend.

What a funny story! I am the one that usually makes Kip do the eye rolling! He still rolls his eyes every time I mention getting chickens. I love your card too, that is a fun image.

Your card is sensational!!

I don't miss using an outhouse, but I think it's kind of neat to have a reproduction in your yard. Particularly if it serves a good purpose. The outhouse on your card is even better and will give folks a chuckle. Have a good weekend, Lynn!

Oh, I'm going to be laughing all day at both this card and your fantastic stories, Lynn! I know outhouses well, having used many of them in my time, in Montana and Alaska (where one really needs indoor plumbing in the winter time!) Many a time out backpacking, I would have given anything to HAVE an outhouse! :-D

OMG your story is hiliarious and yes, I thought it was an outhouse, too, based on the thumbnail picture, lol. You are definitely a wonderful wife to allow that in your yard - I think I'd drawn a line in the sand at my dh's mamoth shed that showed up!
Great card, love the clouds!!

Your story is priceless, you two have the best sense of humor ever!!!! I love it. The card is amazing, girl, what great coloring, so vibrant, just makes that little ole outhouse stand right out! :)

so funny Lynn! The stamp is perfect - now you need to decorate the "outhouse" to match the stamp - add a barrel and some flowers :)
and yes, I know outhouses - we used to have one when I was small (we got indoor one when I was about 5yo) - nicely tucked in in the back yard between the chicken coop and the pig sty - the spiders and wasps liked it more then me. Oh, we even had outhouses in my first year of preschool (and I'm not that old) :)

You are such a stitch! I love the moon on the outhouse and how you found that lovely stamp image just like it....awesome. So, will this be a Christmas Card? It will surely bring a smile to someone's face!

Lynn, what a perfectly fun segue into your card! Your card is delightful and fun - just like you!

Oh, how fun is that?! You can also tell dinner guests that their meal is waiting for them in the outhouse!!

Your card is great and I love the banner piece and the twine. A wonderful stamp choice!

I've used the occasional outhouse, but still cringe when Dad talks about using corn cobs as wiping material...
