Blue Poppies

I was playing around with my Poppy die and this is what I came up with.  I LOVE that blue color (Robin's Egg) and it matched perfectly with a scrap of patterned paper I had.  It's one of those cards that really is prettier in real life.  I used Confetti Cream as a base and for layering but do you really think I had any off white ribbon to match it!!!  Of course not......I only have about a 100 rolls of ribbon - but none the right color or width.......SO, I just used some white!  It gives it a different look but I wasn't about to start all over on this baby since this was like my 4th attempt at getting it to look similar to how it looked in my mind!  For some reason, things always look better in my mind.  It's a little like shopping for clothes.......you see something on the rack and it's knock dead gorgeous.  You're thinking about how awesome it'd look on you .........and then you try it on!  Uck!!!!!
It's pretty much an all occasion card but I'll probably use it as a sympathy card when I need it.

Short and sweet here today but I'll be back on Wednesday with a couple posts for you!

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

Lynn, this is absolutely gorgeous. I LOVE that poppy die and the Robin's Nest color is awesome.

I think your ribbon looks great. I had to laugh about not having the color you wanted. My sis and I have said no matter have many rolls you have, there is never just the right one. Ha So, I can relate. I can relate about the trying on of clothes, too.

I'm pretty sure that all of us know exactly what you mean about how these cards look in our minds and how they turn out IRL! LOL, at least sometimes they're better than in our mind! This will make a lovely sympathy card! I really like the light blue flowers against the dark blue background and the paper that ties it all together!

Enjoyed these pretty poppies in red over at Cathy's, then love 'em just as well here in blue. I really do like your color combo here, very restful & peaceful. Your white ribbon looked fine with the other colors (just as awesome as you'd thought too!). I love that dp you've got on the side rectangle. Really pretty with the other elements. This would indeed be a comforting card. Great work! (Yep I was with you all the way on the 'mind' things too!) TFS & Hugs

OHHHH Laa Laa I love that blue. Just gorgeous. I think the white ribbon goes great with it. I had the same problem the other day trying to match something. I was about ready to give up all together and then I finally found a Copic marker very close and just colored that darn thing. Wasn't exact, but it worked OK. I am still laughing at your comparison to clothes shopping. How True! Enjoy your evening.
