Black and Blue - and Silver

Two very quick and easy cards for Christmas.  Since all my cards have been mailed for the holidays, I'll be saving these for next year.

The first one is done using a SU stamp and silver embossing and the second is with a Impression Obsession die and SU greeting - also embossing in silver.  I used a stencil on the background and embossed the silver on black.  Basically a whole bunch of embossing going on with these two cards.  I saw a video by Kristin Werner the other day using this stencil and embossing.  This is a CASE of her card - but I just KNOW she didn't have the mess I had!  Mercy, I had embossing powder every where - and then some.  Also, she has all these cool supplies and I didn't so I was substituting and think it would have been easier if I had all that neat stuff.  No matter though since it's going to be a good mailer for Christmas next year.

I'll be back later in the week.  Wishing everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thanks for stopping by.........
Lynn

Lynn, how beautiful they turned out even with the embossing powder flying all over. Ha That gave me a chuckle. Maybe if you're good, Santa will bring you all those items Kim was using. Or, is it too late? LOL

It's great to have a good start to next year's cards.

Have a wonderful Christmas.

Messy doesn't matter when they come out looking this good. I really love them both. I wish you had done them earlier so I could have CASED them. LOL I will for next year though. Wishing you and Jim a fantastic Christmas.

These turned out so pretty, and I saw Kristina's card too and it was a beauty! But then, so is yours! It may have made a mess, but it turned out fabulous! I love the embossed image in silver on blue for the first card too!
Have a very merry Christmas my friend!!!

I can well imagine you had embossing powder for miles after the second card - a dramatic outcome though. Love them both.

Wowzers! These are eye-poppin'. Took a quick look last night just before powering down, so zipped over to comment this morning. I also looked at the video you mentioned, and enjoyed that too. I liked YOUR cards better, (shush, don't tell on me!). Especially loved that blue one, but I enjoyed seeing how you used the masking technique to make the black & silver one all your own. Superb job on the cards, and also on adapting your supplies too. Merry Christmas to you & Jim, have so enjoyed your beautiful cards, your encouraging comments & emails this past year. Looking forward to much more in the New Year! Hugs & TFS

Utterly glorious, Lynn! Especially love the blue and silver though that embossed snowflake is pretty magnificent itself. What a great idea to embossed the striped background. WOW, what a task that must have been! I'm proud of you for undertaking it even without all the cool tools. Well done, my friend. I'm off to my daughter's home for the next 2 days and will be by to visit your blog when I return.

The wise men look so elegant embossed in the silver! And the snowflake is gorgeous as well as that awesome background! It may have made a mess but it sure is pretty! Hope you and Jim have a wonderful Christmas!

I'm always suspicious of the not-messy crafters...I figure they must edit out the parts where they spill the jar of EP, have the cat jump on their desk, all those sorts of fun things :) These are both gorgeous - I love the silver! The embossed stripes look AMAZING!
