Lonesome Windmill

This is probably one of the very first stamps I ever bought and I think I've only used it one other time!  It's from Stampablities.  I'm in the process of un-mounting some of my stamps in order to save space and I'm finding a slew of stamps I've never even used before!  Pretty scary.  I would say I'm not going to buy another single stamp until I've used all the ones I have at least once - but know that's not going to happen!  Why is this "hobby" so addictive!!!

A very clean and simple card but think it'll be good for a guy....for several different occasions.  I used some Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, and Kraft.  The DP is something unknown but showed up in my paper stacks and seemed to match!

Short post today as Jim's son is coming to do the old BBQ for him for Father's Day.  Of course, they sit outside and shoot the bull and thrown a slab of meat on the grill while I'm inside slaving away with all the stuff that has to go with it - plus entertaining the rest of the family and then cleaning everything up.  Sometimes these BBQ's just really aren't worth it! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by............
Lynn

Lynn, that is a great image for a guy. I really like your sponging and that star. I know what you mean. My family came over yesterday for my son's b'day and father's day and the same scenario places out here every time. Have the best day you can.

Glad to see you are being honest with yourself by admitting you are addicted, aren't we all!
Your card is beautiful. Love the soft shading around the edges and the background is so pretty too!

I like the clean and simple look of this card! I am very lucky, I didn't get into stamping until after the block stamping was done! So I have very few block stamps.

Hugs,

Chriss

What a great card! I have yet to see anything like this in my travels through TX :) I like how you did the twine and star. I agree on the BBQ, everyone enjoys it while I am inside cooking, thinking I am doing something wrong. I taking hubby out for lobster tonight. Enjoy the BBQ anyway, that is great that Jim's son is going to cook for him.

Hope you get to sit and enjoy the BBQ too, nothing worse than being stuck in the kitchen while everyone else is having all the fun! lol

Big hugs
Shannon

Your story reminded me of a quote we both liked recently concerning men and BBQ's! I remember we had a good laugh over it and here it plays out again IRL! LOL I threw a pork butt in the crock pot before I went to bed last night, and finished it into pulled pork this morning, then kept it on warm until everyone got here to eat! I like that kind of BBQ!!!
I like your card too, and that's a cool image with that blue dsp! Love the twine and star too! Time to rest up now :)

Great card! Love the simple image and the twine and stars go so well with it. Good luck with using all of those stamps! I started doing that about a year ago and then got new stamps... Maybe one of these days, I'll actually ink every stamp I own!

Hi Lynn!
Hope you survived the BBQ and weren't too exhausted!!!!!!!

The card is beautiful!! I hear you about finding long lost stamps and vowing not to buy more. (yah right!).

I have said to myself that I have to use ones I haven't before buying more but that challenge is a bit overwhelming, huh?? LOL

Have a great day!

I love that image, Lynn! Perfect paper for it. too. Don't you just love finding exactly the right thing in your stash? That always makes me feel like the purchase was justified. lol

Great masculine card, Lynn! The windmill is a great image, and I love the distressing you've done around it. Wonderful details too, with the jute and the star embellishment.

Great card!! Love that blue and I think you are right--perfect for a guy. Funny about the BBQ, my husband thinks it is easy too--he grills the burgers and I do everything else.

What a great masculine card. I like that it's a bit brighter than a lot I've seen. That paper reminds me of the old Lasting Impressions patterned papers.
