Watercolor Trio Birthday

All the veggies have been processed (the next batch won't have to be done until Wednesday) and the company is gone (until tomorrow) so I've been trying to leave some comments on different blogs and just generally relaxing.
This is a card that I completed last week I think for SCS Card Sketches. I used the Watercolor Trio set from SU. I can tell you this - it sure looks a lot better than if I had tried to actually water color it!!! My water coloring leaves a lot to be desired. I used Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, White and SU patterned paper. The piece of Not Quite Navy was embossed with the Perfect Petals folder but you really can't see it in the photo that good. It made a very light impression. The butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings die. After taking the photo I added a bit of sheer ribbon around bottom of the image and it gave it a nice "touch".

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Tracy's Clean and Simple Challenge

Tracy, over at Ink Spots and Gum Drops blog (isn't that just about the cutest name!!) is having her very first Clean and Simple Challenge! I'm SO glad I discovered her blog as I love making CAS cards and projects. The challenge for this week was to use paper tearing on a project. I like using this technique but had never tried it with a CAS card. So this was really a challenge for me. Go check out her challenge HERE........you have until almost midnight tonight I believe to enter.

On this card, I used Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, and Walk in the Park designer paper. The butterflies were made using the Beautiful Wings die. I added some rhinestones to their bodies and then kind of "fluffed" out the wings. I cut the three squares and adhered them using dimensionals on the middle one to give it, well, dimension! The sentiment is stamped in Brocade Blue using the Friendship image from the Wonderful Words set. All supplies are SU with the exception of the rhinestones.

This will be the last post for a few days as we just got over 100 ears of corn this morning!!! I'll be busy processing that - and then will have company coming for the weekend.

Flower Power

Just a very simple card for two challenges: Clean and Simple Stamping FTL91 for the layout and CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge for the theme - A Touch of Green. Some of the supplies I used were the Swiss Dots Embossing folder, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Little Leaves die, Oval Punches, Scallop Circle Punch, and the Rhinestone brad. The paper I used was Night of Navy,White, and an unknown navy polka dot. The leaves were in Certainly Celery.

I made a card very similar to this not long ago - at least as far as the flower went. I used black and white and polka dots on that one.

The trick on this one was getting the picture taken! I attempted to take a picture in the house but it just was not working right - even with my homemade light box and I couldn't take it outside due to rainy weather. There was finally a break in the weather early this morning, so I hurried out there to snap a photo. Just when I did, about a 30 mile an hour wind came up!!!! Really.......so then it was a matter of trying to snap the picture before it would blow over. Whew! I think it took longer to take a picture of this than it did to make it!

Howdy Partner

For the Bugaboo Challenge I have made a card with this little cow poke which was one of their free images. I finished this card and thought he looked pretty cute - showed it to my husband (which, I know, was a mistake - I'll just never learn!!!) - and the only thing he said was "where's his mouth and nose!" Then he wanted me to give him the card so he could draw in the mouth and nose! ARG>>>>>> Anyway, I thought the card came out pretty cute.

The paper I used was Chocolate Chip, White, and some patterned paper from CTMH. The sentiment is computer generated. I used my SU punches and then attempted to wrap the twine around the outer circle. It really didn't come out like I wanted it to though. I colored the little guy with Copics (still trying to practice with them every chance I get).

We're getting more rain today so the garden will be ready to be picked again tomorrow or Thursday! Whew! Alot of work. Plus the sweet corn is almost ready around here. We don't grow that but end up buying a 100 or so ears to freeze. At least I don't have to can that and will just process it and freeze it. So yummy to eat all year long!

Season's Greetings

I know that all the snowmen have melted and Christmas is over with..but I'm working on my Christmas cards for this year and when I saw this challenge for a one layer card, I knew what I wanted to do. So, Season's Greetings - only a little early!

This is for the CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge. The object this week is to make a one layer card that's CAS. I used a wheel from SU but cannot remember the name of it! I colored the little snowmen with my Prismacolor Pencils. The sentiment is from Snow Swirled (also SU).
What a busy weekend this has been! We have a big garden and it has now started to produce. I spent all afternoon canning green beans. It's alot of work but sure tastes nice! I may be kinda hit and miss around here for awhile because I stay very busy this time of year. We'll see. I do have a card scheduled for every day of this week though! So stay tuned........

VAROOM......

My husbands young nephew has a birthday coming up soon and this card is for him. He's at that age where he thinks he's too big for a bicycle and of course, he's too young to drive a car! I thought this would be a cute birthday card for him. On the inside it will say : "You have to go to the three-wheeler before you can get the four-wheeler!"

This was a free digi from Wards. The streamers on the handlebars and the banner sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge (Out for a Spin). I don't know who made the patterned paper but for some reason it reminded me of car racing (keep in mind I know NOTHING about car racing though). I also used Real Red, Black, and White. I colored the image with Prismapencils and Bic Markers. The layout is one that was on SCS Card Sketches several weeks ago.
This is for the weekly challenge at Cowgirls Sunday Stampen Challenge.

In Honor of All Frogs

Some of you may not be aware of this, but today is FROG JUMPING JUBILEE DAY!!! Yes! So, in honor of all frogs, here is your card.

My image is from Toadily by Penny Black....isn't he a cutie! The paper I used was from a Martha Stewart paper pack. I colored Mr. Toad with Prismacolor Pencils. I painted the daisy with Creative Inspirations paint, and then added some glitter for a little extra bling. The layout is from SCS card sketches (I believe it's 279). This is also for Tuesday Morning Sketches - to use your favorite colors and some glitter. Green and Pink are one of my favorite color combos. It just makes everything look "happy" to me. If you click on this little guy you will be able to see all the shine to that flower - and also see the embossing folder I used and the stripped paper that that ribbon goes around.

Cowboy Up

In my mind, this was going to be the absolute best and "coolest" card you had probably ever seen! BUT, when it started going on paper, I just don't know what happened to it! LOL! The object here was to have the fence kinda "stand out" to make it look dimensional. Well, after cutting out the fence (which by the way, is NOT easy) it just did not want to bend like I wanted it to. Of well, hope you enjoy looking anyway. This is for all the real cowboys and of course, all the wanna-be cowboys out there!
The image is from Yehaw by CTMH. I used Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and some CTMH DP.

Happy Monday

A little bit of humor to start off the week! Karen sent me this image the other day after I commented on her wonderful card. Is this not the cutest outhouse or what!! On her card, she had a different sentiment but I thought the "hand crafted" that I used was kinda fitting too, you know! LOL. (You may have to click on the picture to enlarge it in order to see the sentiment a little better).

The "hand crafted" is from Tiny Tags (SU) and I also used the Chicken Wire backgroud stamp from SU. I colored the image with my Copics....I'm still working on the shading part of those things!

So, again......Happy Monday everyone!

Circle of Love

The challenge at Cas-Tastic Wednesday is to use circles on your project. When I saw this challenge I immediately thought of this sentiment image I have from CTMH. It was just a perfect fit! I like the card with the exception of the "heart" ribbon. I wanted to use this ribbon instead of a solid red, but don't like how the hearts of the "tails" are upside down. I think I tried to do this every which way I could think of and it just wasn't going to cooperate like I wanted it to.

Other than the sentiment (which is from the Endless Love set by CTMH), the images are from Little Pieces (SU). I used Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi, and Yo Yo Yellow ink. The image with the heart was popped up with dimensionals.

Stamps R Us Challenge

I am a member of the Stamps R Us blog group and this was my month to host the challenge. The challenge this month is to create anything but a card! It can be a scrapbook page, altered item, bag or basket, sewing project...........just whatever............as long as it's not a card. Anyone can play and anyone can WIN, WIN, WIN!!!!! So come on over to the Stamps R Us Challenge Blog and play along.

I used a tutorial on You Tube to find out how to make the little bag I have here. I think it was listed as a 12 X 12 box from Chickn' Scratch. These are super simple to make and will actually hold quite alot of items or a cute gift. I have also covered an "adult" composition book and a "baby" composition book. This was a "FIRST" for me as I've never attempted anything like this. I think it came out ok though. I like the "adult" one better I think. The "baby" one is pretty plain. The papers I used were from a Martha Stewart paper pad. The "Journal" letters are chipboard that I covered with some of the patterned paper. I also added one of the little puffy flowers at the top.

Go check out the Stamps R Us Challenge blog and enter your project today. You have until the end of the month to enter but you may want to do it now so you don't forget!! Be sure and sign up as a follower too. We'd love to have you.

Splendor

A very quick "thank you" card using the Splendor image from Penny Black. The layout was actually one that was for the challenge LAST WEEK at Stamping 411. I really did have this made but just never posted it. Oh well........

I used Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, and some patterned paper from My Minds Eye. As I said the image is from Penny Black. The sentiment is one of the images from Gracious Greetings (CTMH). I also used the SU Texturz plate on the Very Vanilla card stock but it's very hard to see the pattern in the photo.

CAS Birthday

The challenge at CAS-tastic Wednesday is to create a clean and simple birthday card. I don't know if you can get any cleaner or more simple than this one. But I thought it came out very cute and will make a wonderful birthday card - especially when you need one in a hurry AND you can change it to whatever colors you want!

I used the Daisies #2 die from SU to create the flower out of Real Red card stock and red gingham patterned paper. Of course I had to add a little red button with some white floss in the center. The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday set (CTMH).

Have a Magical Day

This card looks SO very pretty in real like and yet the picture looks so plain and just blah! But, trust me, it SHIMMERS AND SHINES! A week or so ago I won some blog candy and part of it was Creative Inspirations paint. Oh my goodness! That stuff is wonderful. If you haven't already tried it, do so. You can find their web site here. This was my first card using the paint and I can already see so many possibilities.

I received four little bottles of paint and I actually used some of all four of them on this card - Tutu Pink, Silver Frost, Fairy Dust, and Amethyst. The image and sentiment are from Pony Party (SU). This is a nice little image and you can add the horn, a hat, butterfly, etc.....I stamped it once and then stamped the wing again and popped it up after using some Fairy Dust paint and then glitter (the bottom wing only has the Fairy Dust on it). On the tail and mane I used Amethyst and Tutu Pink and on the hoofs and horn I used Silver Frost. The flowers were just some "plain Jane" white paper flowers - those I painted with the Tutu Pink. On the smaller flower I used Fairy Dust.

My next task will be to figure out how to get a picture to do this paint justice. It's just too pretty.

The sketch I used is from Tuesday Morning Sketches, the theme "Magical" from Crafty Creations Challenge, and for Aly's Sunday Challenge (to feature an animal).

No Button Bits

I think it's PTI that has a set out called Everyday Button Bits. Ever since I saw this stamp set I've wanted it - but haven't bought it. I keep thinking - "Do I REALLY need it?" Anyway, I probably do need it (LOL) however, I haven't bought it. BUT, last week I was in Hobby Lobby and found this little image called Flower Garden from Stampabilities. Yes, I can add buttons to those little flowers!!!
I stamped the image twice after coloring it with SU markers. Buttons were added to three of the little flowers. The paper I used was Pretty in Pink and white. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU).

This actually qualifies for several different challenges: Clean and Simple, CAS and SCS, and Cowgirl Sunday. Whew! I've NEVER done one card for three challenges!!

Reach for the Stars

With Graduation right around the corner, it's time to make some cards! I really don't think I have to make that many this year, but it's always nice to have some extras on hand. The little town where I live actually has a school - and are you ready for this? - They usually have a graduation class of about 15 kids (sometimes alot less)!!! No kidding. Very small town and school. We have a post office, bank branch, and convenience store - that's it folks! As I said VERY SMALL! I can't believe it still has the little bank branch - I imagine it's been there since the early 1900's though. Anyway.........

This is for the challenge at Crazy4Challenges (C4C35). The paper I used was Brilliant Blue, White, and DP from CTMH. The sentiment is from Well Scripted and the stars from Paper Studio. The stars were stamped in various colors, cut out and then adhered. I used the Oval Nestie and some brads and it was completed.

Aboard the Baby Train

I was getting pretty low on my stash of "Baby cards" and figured I'd better get some made pretty quick.

The train image is from Teddy and Train and the sentiment from Warm Words - both SU products. I used Brocade Blue, White and Brocade Blue DP. As always, I didn't have a button the right color so I used a clear button and Liquid Glass with some Brocade Blue card stock. I colored the little train with Prismacolor Pencils.

A Summer Birthday

Now whether it looks like it or not, this is a flower!!! I've seen several cards in "blogger-land" with flowers made in this fashion and so thought I'd try it. Why is it that everyone else's always seem to look a little bit better! Actually, I was pretty satisfied with this one. Kinda different anyway.

This is for the Eyelet, Ribbon, Paper, Oh My...challenge. We were to follow the sketch and create two cards accordingly. I can't post the second card just yet (although it has been sent in for the challenge) - the reason being, it's being sent to a super lady that did something very, very nice.

The sentiment is from Well Scripted by SU. I used Summer Sun, Creamy Caramel, Garden Green, and Tangerine Tango paper.
