This isn't a rubber ducky or even a plastic ducky.....it's a nice "made to last" wooden ducky - the kind I probably had when I was a little baby. The adorable image is from Floppy Latte and was given to me because yes, in case you haven't already guessed......NO, I'm not pregnant!!!!!! It was given to me since I was recently asked to join the design team at Digi Haven and we all got an image from Floppy Latte to use on our card today!!! Head on over to Digi Haven and join in our challenge (themed Vintage or Old) and while you're there be sure and check out all the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team, which I might add, are a fantastic group of ladies - and one handsome gent! Oh, and prizes......yep, we have those too! Check it out.
Y'all know I don't really do vintage, but thought the yellow, that Kraft that I sponged (um...maybe overloaded it a bit on the sponging), and the old button would qualify. Notice that pink bow on the duck.....I had to add it in pink since my son and his wife will be having another little girl in a couple of months.
Head on over to Digi Haven and enter for your chance to win!

Take a Hike
There's several people I would probably like to tell "take a hike" but not the one this card is going to! This is for Jim's sister who lives in California as she loves to hike the hills around where she lives. I tried to use earthy type tones in the DP to give it more of a "nature" feel without giving it too much of a manly look.
I'm not a hiker at all unless you include shopping at Walmart. Those stores are so big you feel like you're on a hike! I love it when Jim and I go together since he'll head for one part of the store in his little electric cart and I head to another pushing a basket. No way am I going to roam all over that store looking for him so I just call him on the cell phone - that is, unless I see all the displays he's wiped out in his cart. Then I just follow the destruction!
The image - ah....now this makes me happy - is from a CD that Just Inklined has for sale in their store for a fantastic price and includes the best of 2012 digis! So many fabulous digis on there - everything from Christmas to flowers to fun! Take a look.

That Gold Stuff
If y'all remember - last week I made a card and titled the post "A Little Late". Well, this one is definitely a little early!! Everyone is going Fall and Christmas so I thought I'd jump right on along to Valentine's Day!
The heart and sentiment are from Filled With Love (SU) and I found this Cuttlebug embossing folder recently and figured it'd be good for Valentine's Day - or just a simple love type card.
Now, on to "that gold stuff"........It's Frantage - a little gold, pink, and white. I recently purchased some and I must say it's fabulous!!!! You kinda sprinkle it on and then heat set it and walla......prettiness! Not sure this is the type of card it goes on but it's on here anyway because I couldn't wait to try some of it out. If you'll take a peek at Marilyn's blog, One Stamping Fool, and Tammy's blog, Tammy's Spot you'll see the way they've used it and it's gorgeous!

Hairballs and Hairy Twine
The first time I saw this stamp set from SU I knew I would HAVE to have it!! I mean, look at that sentiment! Can you think of a better way to say happy birthday! LOL! This probably isn't for everyone, but I know I'm going to be using it a ton!
Now, on to hairy twine and hairballs.......well....we'll just talk about the twine since hairballs really do make you want to gag! I love using twine on cards but it always has these little stray hairs sticking out all over it. I finally decided that I was going to get rid of the strays. Got a match and very carefully held it under one of the strays.......and POOF, the whole thing went up in flames! Um......not good.....! Let's try that again......and again.....and again........No go! All I had was a bunch of burnt twine. Even though I didn't do it on the twine on these cards I'm really thinking the best way is to just get a pair of scissors and give it a hair cut!
While I had stuff scattered all over my desk anyway, I decided to make another one with this set. Although you can't see it I actually stitched two PERFECTLY straight lines on the inside on the DP. Pretty proud of myself even though you can't see it. Two very CAS and quick cards.
I'll enter this second card in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop - snippets of the DP and twine. I wrapped the twine around the card and forgot about making the bow - UGH - so grabbed another snippet of twine, made the bow, and slapped it on there. Works!
Thanks for stopping by............and have a great weekend!

A Little Late
I want y'all to look at those stamped dots.......they're ALMOST straight!!! Of course, this was the fourth or fifth try with them - but they're close to being straight - or at least as straight as I'd ever get them! The other thing that makes me happy are the balloons........woohoo!!! On Pinterest the other day there was a video of making the balloons from a small oval punch and the foot of the owl punch! Hey, I can do that - and did. I used some baker's twine to tie them all together! Yea......card finished!
I used the sketch from CASe This Sketch and will enter it in their challenge. I'll also enter it in the snippets challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop and Drunken Stampers for twine.

Happy Thoughts
Not much to say about this card except.......here it is!
I used various scraps in blue, stamped the sentiment (SU), added the white twine, and popped on the die cut from Memory Box. Done deal! (How's that for a short post!)
I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Here's Looking At..................
So, what's he looking at????? If it was Jim, he'd probably be looking at things that start with a "B" and it's not birds either. I was thinking more in terms of babes, bikinis, boobs, and butts......typical male I guess. If it was me I'd be looking for crafts of course!! This really is going to be sent to my brother though you does love to look for things with a "B".........birds! Most of the other males in the family would probably be looking for deer - as hunting is coming up in a few months. Or how about just looking at another year gone by for a happy birthday card! What would you be looking at?
The image is from Art Impressions (Hollis) and is one of the Front and Back stamps - I only used the front for this card. The DP is some old paper from CTMH.
Thanks for stopping by.......and have a great weekend!

Another Woof
What can I say here except WOOF! Yes, it's super clean and simple but I did stamp out that dog, bowl, and sentiment (and didn't use a single die)!!! "Spot" (the name I've given this big guy) and bowl are from The Alley Way Stamps and sentiment from Paper Smooches.
I'll enter this is the challenge at Retro Sketches (sketch).

Die-Mania
For some reason or another, I seem to be on a die rolling kick around here! I've got several dies and every time I decide to make a card I grab one instead of a stamp. I'm really thinking that due to the hot weather we've been having I'm just getting extremely lazy!!! I need to get back into the ink again for sure - and will!
I stumbled across a blog the other day called I'm in Haven......oh my........fantastic cards! I was sitting here drooling over all her pretty cards - and her use of this die - and then remembered I have that die too (thanks to someone VERY special) !!
I know this is very clean and simple but that tree is so pretty I didn't want to add anything else to the card other than the twine and sentiment. I used snippets of three different fall colors and placed them behind the cut out leaves. I used Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Pumpkin Pie. Nice fall colors! The sentiment is from SU.
I'll enter this in the challenges at Hiding in my Craftroom (super scraps) and Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Non-Bikini Beach Babe
Like the Great White Shark, this is one of those things you hope you never see at the beach! No bikini for this classy lady either - that'd be worse than seeing the shark!!!
The image is from Art Impressions and palm tree from Stampendous. I'm still not sure why I added that starfish charm - except maybe it added to the "charm" of the card. It looks a little lonesome stuck down there all by itself. The images were colored with water colors and the "sand" type paper is from Paper Studio.
Don't you just love that brown purse she's carrying! It either HAD to be black or brown and I picked brown to go with the sand and shore look. Things need to match when you go to the beach, you know. Even though she doesn't really look like me (my hair's much shorter), I probably would want the little rubber ducky life preserver along in case I had to get past my knees in the water..........and to think I used to teach swimming classes so many years ago!
Thanks for stopping by.......and have a great weekend.

Git 'er Done Christmas Card
Everyone seems to be Christmas cards right now - and I just think it's too hot to even think about! I really had good intentions to make all my cards early this year but it's not happening.......so decided I'd better get with the program a little. I cranked up (or down - however you want to look at it) the AC and got this one done. It's a start anyway.
Very CAS using the Swiss Dots embossing folder an Impression Obsession die. Added some Garden Green card stock as a snippet behind the tree and some green ribbon that matched. The sentiment is from Stampabilities. I didn't even add any bling or anything like that. Oh, I used a Quickie Glue pen by Sakura to attach the white part to the green tree. Mary had sent this to me in some blog candy I'd recently won and let me tell you.........this is worth it's weight in gold! I didn't have glue all over my desk, hands, hair, on on the dog! Fabulous little tool to have. Anyway, the card is completed and it's a done deal!
I'll enter this in the challenge at Twisted Tuesday (Christmas - twist of CAS).
Thanks for stopping by.................AND .......I see a Fun Friday on the horizon!

My Happy
Sometimes you just gotta a card that makes you happy!! This one makes me happy since I really like all the colors.
The circles and sentiment are both from Hero Arts.
I'll enter this in the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays (buttons).
Thanks for all the comments on the hand and paper cutter madness! It's getting better every day, the paper cutter is in the trash, and yes......this makes me super happy!!!

Floundering
Thanks to Tammy telling me about a sale on some rolling craft carts at a craft store, I hooked it to the city on Monday and picked up a couple....then started the job of cleaning and reorganizing the little crafting cave. It was going to be a great week!!!!!!!! YEA! I worked my behind off part of Monday and all day Tuesday and was on a roll - and then........! Of course it couldn't last! Let's just say that those huge desk top guillotine paper cutters have SHARP-A_ _ blades! I got my tetanus shot though and am all bandaged up so I'm almost ready to rock and roll again. I was doing SO good there for a while........Anyway, I was able to get this card together so I'd at least have something to post for today and y'all wouldn't think I was completely worthless.......Right now though I'm just floundering.
This is one of those cards that really looks better in real like. (Don't you just love it when someone says that. I mean you aren't there so you really don't know if they're telling the truth or not! LOL!) The DP is from some that's been breeding for a while back in the cave. I made the tissue paper flower out of some paper from a Vera Bradley bag and added a brad from SU. In the center of a bunch of the flowers on the DP I added some sparkle with a glitter pen (they're only showing up in the photo though about middle way down). That's it folks!!!!
I personally think this card is not very practical. The tissue paper flower looks so pretty but if you put this in the mail it just gets squished! To top it off, the tissue tears really easy too.....so after you handle it for a minute or two you're going to snag a fingernail on that stuff and tear it and then wonder why someone would send you a card with a torn flower on it! Just my opinion.................
I'll enter this in the challenge at A Blog Named Hero (Recycle, Reuse - the tissue paper from a Vera Bradley bag for the flower) and the Simon Says Stamps Challenge (anything goes).
