Silly Bird-Day

I had five birthday cards to send out this month and as I was going through my stash I realized I was really running short on those - so you may be seeing a few cards for birthdays coming up soon.

I can't think of anything cuter to use on a birthday card other than this little bird from The Alley Way Stamps.  I used Birds of a Feather for the silly guy and the sentiment - and then added the paper pieced tree from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.  The dots on the trees were done with the Wreathed in Love set.  I actually stamped a little "grass" on top of the mint colored ground but it didn't show up very much.  Oh, and speaking of the mint 'ground'..... I didn't have any paper that color but did have an ink pad.  I cut the ground and then rubbed the ink pad over it.  Instant colored paper.  Some clouds were lightly sponged in and then went ahead and added a couple more fluffy clouds with a die.  Glossy Accents were added to the eyes.

I'll enter this in the Be Inspired Challenge for The Alley Way Stamps.  I was inspired by the circles and pink and mint colors.

OFF TO THE WILD BLUE YONDER...........
On a different subject now.........I'm going to be leaving town tomorrow and won't be back until October 1st.  I'm flying to visit a dear blogging friend - Tammy.  Check out her cute and creative blog.  I see a little shopping on the horizon, maybe some creating, and a TON of laughs for sure!  I'm super excited about this little adventure and of course getting to meet Tammy!!!!!    Jim and Rambo will be holding down the fort here once again - but this time I HAVE stocked up on paper plates!  I'll see everyone around the first of October..........

Thanks for stopping by............

Christmas Critter

Every year we're invited by friends of ours to a "Critter Christmas" party.  They don't serve penguins to eat (and I'm not even going to tell you what all they DO serve!  LOL!) but it's always fun and entertaining.....to say the least.  This critter is too cute to worry about things like that though.

This cute little guy is from the Lawn Fawn set Winter Penguin.  I also used a Stitched Hillside Borders die and cut this out with glitter paper for him to be skating on.  The sky was sponged in distress ink and then I white embossed some tiny little snowflakes that were with the stamping set.  He's colored with Copics and then some clear Wink of Stella was added.  The sentiment, also from the same set, was stamped and then some red sequins added.

I'll enter this in the Critters challenge at Lawnscaping Challenges this week.

Leaping Deer

Christmas is right around the corner it seems.  Not too much longer now so I'm trying to kick it up a notch on making a few Christmas cards!

Scrapy Land Challenge starts up again today and our theme this time is Heat Embossing and use at least one or more dies!  Check out all the rules and regulations at the Scrapy Land blog and enter your creation for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from the Store!

I used the Leaping Deer Memory Box die and also Spellbinders Ovals.  Both of these can be found in the Scrapy Land store.  I used some very old CTMH silver embossing powder both on the deer and the oval.  The center of the smaller oval was completed using the Swiss Dots Embossing folder and the sentiment, from SU, was heat embossed.

Here's a list of all the brands of dies in the Scrap Land store.  Remember, to enter our challenge just use one of the brands that is listed - and do some heat embossing too!

Thanks for stopping by......now head on over to the Scrapy Land Challenge blog to enter your creation!

The little friendly ghost is from Paper Smooches and that sentiment from Riley and Company.  FUN card that will be sent out this year for Halloween!

Chubby Chipmunk

What's more fun than a chubby little chipmunk!  Um......can't thing of anything better to put a smile on my face.  This little guy is from Deedee's Digis.  If you played along last month in our progressive challenge you've already received this cute set - which comes with two images and some wonderful sentiments!  If you didn't play along you can purchase it in the store for a special price (here) - then when enter your creation for this months challenge, you'll receive another digi set next month for free!

I used the pre-colored image along with some fall looking card stock in Kraft, Chocolate Chip,  and patterned paper.  The sentiment was printed on Kraft and then the button and twine added.

I'm not sure if Fall will ever get down here in Texas but I'm ready for it if it ever does - chipmunks and all!  I'm not even sure if we have chipmunks in this area since I've never seen one.  We are pretty well overrun with squirrels though.  So, I'll say that this looks like Rambo after the pecans fall.  He loves those things and always has one in his mouth.  He even carries them in and tries to bury them in the carpet!  Maybe he's part chipmunk!!!

Squirts For Squirts

According to the dictionary, "squirts" can either be "to  eject liquid in a jet" OR "a small or young person". The liquid used was some Distress markers ejected with one of those Tim Holtz squirting thingy's AND this is for one of the grand children for Halloween.  So, we have squirts for squirts!

I used Monster Mash from Lawn Fawn.  After stamping and masking the images, I also masked off the rectangle in the center and squirted it down with the Distress markers in some orange, green, and yellow type colors.  The squirts were colored with Copics and then I added a tiny google eye to the center squirt.  A couple of enamel dots were added using the Paint Pen.  A little doodling was done around the rectangle and the sentiment stamped.   A one layer card for Halloween!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Lawnscaping Challenges - one layer.

Poppies and Scrapy Land

Today is the BIG day when we start the new and improved challenge at Scrapy Land!  It's an "ANYTHING GOES" challenge and all you have to do is make a card or project that incorporates one or more dies from the brands that Scrapy Land carries!     This is so easy to do because we all have dies and Scrapy Land carries over 40 different brands.  The challenge runs for 2 weeks and the winner will receive a $15.00 gift certificate to the store!  They have great prices there and also carry stamps, Copics, and other supplies.

The poppy die that I used for this is from Memory Box and can be found in the store here and it's called Prim Poppy.  I embossed the background with a wood grain folder and popped it up on dimensionals.  The poppies were added and then a strip of patterned paper.  I then added another die ( A Little Thanks) from Memory Box for the sentiment.  This was cut out four times and stacked.  The red gingham ribbon was added and it was complete.

Be sure and check out our blog and see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT,  see the rules for the challenge at the Scrapy Land blog, and enter!

Sweet Little One

It's Tuesday Throwdown time again!  Our challenge this week is to create a project with the theme "Sweet Little One".  Be sure and check out the blog for all the inspiration from the DT.  On sponsor, who also provided the images, is Robyn's Fetish.

I used cute little Lucy from Robyn's Fetish.  Her outfit is paper pieced and then I added some gems as buttons.  Even though her name is Lucy, I made the card with several colors of blue - little (and big) girls like blue too!  The sentiment is from SU.

Thanks for stopping by........and check out Tuesday Thrown and enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize package from Robyn's Fetish.
