Don't Forget the Toilet Paper!

Is everyone ready for a smile for today?  Just don't forget the TP - or newspaper - or heck, just forget about the whole thing and drip dry!

This is one of my favorite stamps from Impression Obsession - and yes, it brings back memories too.  No, I didn't grow up using an outhouse.  That was a little (not much) before my time I guess, but I have used one before and it wasn't a pleasant experience at all.......One of my boyfriends (back in the day) and I went to visit his grandmother out on their farm.  She had an outhouse and when you have to go you have to go you know.  So, very nicely I asked where the bathroom was and was directed to the outhouse.  Eek!  I swear she even had an old Sears catalog in there too!

I sorta colored this with watercolors - very lightly -  mounted it on black cardstock, added an embossed sentiment strip from Taylored Expressions, and then last but not least ---- went digging around for something to put in that top corner and found this spiral from Close To My Heart that's probably 15 years old.  It worked!

I also found a new challenge called FarmQuest General Store - Anything Goes,  This will be a really fun challenge for me since I usually love all that country type stuff.  No frills here you know (except for maybe a real bathroom)!

.....and Piglet Too

Everyone just has to love Pooh and Piglet.  My daughter loved Piglet so much she called her brother that all the time.  I'm not sure that was an endearing name though.  She also called him other things like Butthead, etc......Brotherly/sisterly love I'm sure.  (Oh, and she doesn't call him things like that anymore since he's bigger than she is now)!

Anyway, here's a little Pooh and Piglet for you from Unity Stamps.  I can't even remember ever having used this big old sun die but here it is.  It was either going to be that or some clouds and I went with the sun (probably because I'm ready for springtime and sunshine)!!

Early V Day

Happy early Valentine's Day to everyone.  Hope you have a great Valentine's - not only that day, but every other day too of course!

Here's a super CAS Valentine using a couple of dies and one sentiment.  The frame die is from Lawn Fawn and the heart die is (maybe) from Simon Says Stamp.  Sentiment from Hero Arts.  Not sure where my mind was going with this but I used some wood-grained cardstock for some of the card.  Gives it a different look anyway.  I thought about putting a big  rhinestone in the center of the heart or something, but nah......just leaving it as is.

I'm going to be away from my computer for a few days but will be back soon and check out everyone's blog.

Thanks for stopping by........and keep smiling!

White Shoes and Easter

When I was young (many moons ago) my mom would never ever allow us to wear white shoes until Easter Sunday.  That was the day we'd break out the white patent leathers and get all dolled up for Easter.  We also couldn't wear white shoes after Labor Day in September either.  It didn't matter the weather and if it was 108 degrees outside, after Labor Day you did NOT wear white shoes.....or white pants either.  You just had to wait it out until Easter Sunday.

So............that's why this little chick from Jan's Digi Shop is all decked out in white shoes (and besides that, they're easier to color too)!  I saw this image the other day and thought it was just the cutest and knew I had to have it.  There's a couple of images of the chick and it also comes in black and white or colored - plus several sentiments.  I decided to do it in black and white and then colored her in Copics.

I'll enter this in Jan's Digi Shop Challenge - Anything Goes

It's not too early for Easter cards is it?  I guess that's kinda skipping over Valentine's Day right now but I just imagine by next month all the store will start selling decorations for Halloween or Christmas!

Just a Cat

Some of you may remember Tammy  from Tammy's Spot blog several years ago.  Sadly she passed away a little over a year ago and her daughter sent me several images that Tammy had printed out - who knows when.  I have no idea who created this image or anything about it at all.   It looks like a pencil drawing but I doubt if Tammy actually drew it.  It's printed on what appeared to be watercolor paper, but it wasn't that and is wasn't something like paper for Copic coloring either.  I didn't want to mess it up trying to color it so I just used my colored pencils and lightly colored the butterfly, tongue, and a bit of the "grass".  (Oh and in case you want to see some of the wonderful cards Tammy made over the years, her blog is still there - http://www.tammy-tammyspot.blogspot.com).
