Saving The Best for Last

I've had these sitting on my computer table for a while and thought I'd go ahead and post all of them at once.  Pretty picture heavy but at least they'll be out of the way now.  Be SURE and scroll down to that last photo - as I saved the best for last!

I was playing with stencils on these first couple of cards.  I used vellum and very seldom do that.  I will say these are much prettier in real life.  Nothing spectacular to say the least though!  The third card is nothing more than paper with the sentiment added and a couple of tiny butterflies.  I had actually started making another card and then ran into this paper so had to stop what I was doing and throw together a very quick birthday card.  Gotta love that paper business!

AND THEN......comes the last one!  The BEST!  Oh what FUN!  They don't get into the yard very often but when they do, Rambo is Johnny on the Spot!  They're very strong so Jim picks them up by their tail (hanging on for dear life) and puts them on the other side of the fence.  Rambo lets us know in a hurry that we need to get these things out of his yard immediately!!

Yep, a true Texas 9-banded armadillo!!!!!  Looks a little like some type of prehistoric animal for sure.  They generally move very slow - but can run fast when needed.  Their shell is leathery like armor - hence their name and some people actually have eaten these things.  NO, not me for SURE!  I'll usually try anything once.....but not that!

Panda Bear Love

I thought I'd start the week off right with a cute little image from Deedee's Digis.  This little guy is from the set All My Love that you can find in Deedee's store.  He's pre-colored and I'm really enjoying working with this type of image - especially when you need a card in a hurry or just don't want to take the time to color one.  When you order this set you'll get the colored version, line version if you want to do your own coloring, and sentiments.  Can't beat a deal like that if you ask me.

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the red heart background and a snippet of black and white polka dots for the strip across.  The little panda was printed twice and I popped up the heart and used the Wink of Stella pen on it to give it a little shine......added the sentiment and doodled a little around the tag.  The red net was recycled from a Christmas present we received this year.  That's about all there is to it - except for the fact I LOVE bears - panda, koalas, etc......Yep, bears and frogs.  That either says I'm very strange or just like nature.  We'll go with the liking nature bit!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Thanks for stopping by......and check out Deedee's Digis for some fantastic digi stamps.

Snow Buddies

It's time again for another challenge over at Digi Haven.  Our theme this go-round is Snow Buddies.  We're being sponsored by Dilly Beans, who also provided the DT with images.  Be sure and head over to our challenge at Digi Haven and enter our challenge for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from the sponsor.

I know some of you are sick of snow, snowmen, and the whole scene.....but this image was just just too cute not to use (and besides that it fit the challenge! LOL!).  I've used some strips of scrap paper  and embossed the pink panel (Pretty in Pink from SU) with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The image was colored in Copics and popped up over the DP.  You'll notice I said that pink was called Pretty in Pink.  In real life it really is pretty but no matter what I do I can't get pink to look like the shade of pink it's suppose to be in a photo.  One of those little quirks of life I guess.

I'm also going to enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).  It's been way too long since I entered over there.

Thanks for stopping by............and head on over to Digi Haven for our challenge.

Celebration Time

Time for a little celebration over at Tuesday Throwdown challenges.  Our challenge this week is themed "Baked Goods".  In keeping with the theme of the challenge, what's better tasting than a nice non-fattening and yummy cupcake!  The image is from Sweet n Sassy stamps who graciously provided all the images for the DT to use.  Be sure and check out their store.  Head on over to Tuesday Throwdown and show us your "baked goods" for a chance to win a wonderful prize package.

Yep, I'm now on the Tuesday Throwdown design team and just couldn't be happier!  What an honor to be among so many talented ladies.  As far as my card goes......pretty self explanatory.  The cupcake was printed out twice so I could pop up the icing.  I mean that's the best part of a cupcake anyway, right!  I added some tiny hearts and pearls.  The DP I used is from "somewhere" but no idea where.  It's bright and fun though and that's what a celebration should be all about!

Be sure and stop by Tuesday Throwdown and see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and then enter our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by......

Ready for Spring

Is anyone other than me ready for a little Spring or Summer weather!!!!!  They need to shorten winter to about one month and let it go at that if you ask me.......or course, no one has asked me just yet!

I'm here today with an inspiration post for our All Dressed Up DT.  I used one of the three Little Autumn Girls that you can find in the STORE.  Cute images abound over there so be sure and check all of them out.  The sentiment is from SU and the patterned papers are from a Simon Says Stamp kit of the month.

I don't normally wear shorts in the winter time around here but do on occasion.  Some days are almost warm enough to crank up the AC.  Gotta love Texas winters!

Don't forget!!!!!!!!!   All Dressed Up is having a challenge AND Blog Hop!  Check it out!

Going Buggy!

If going buggy is the same as going crazy,  I need to take this card and plaster it someplace where I'll see it daily!!!   But, I knew it was time again for a way overdue Fun Friday!!

First of all I'd like to apologize if I haven't been by your blog to visit the last couple of days.  My internet service went poof!  You just gotta love computers.......I logged and tried to get on-line and this huge message came on the screen saying that I couldn't access my internet and to call their number to get re-activated.  OK....called the number and that little gal took down my name, put me on hold, came back, and said her computer was "down" and she was putting me on hold again to go to another computer!  YIKES!!!!!  This is NOT a good sign at all!!!  I won't even go into all the details but I'm back in business again and will get by and visit as soon as I can.

Out here in the boonies we have bugs!  Yep, no other way to put it I'm afraid.  Thankfully they're usually outside though so that's a good thing.  We also have frogs on occasion - but definitely not in the house.  Right now I could use one of these little green wonders in the house.  We've got this flying type insect that really looks a lot like that bug on the card and every time the door is opened I swear at least 10 of the little suckers fly in the house.  Of course Jim, being Jim, feels he has to go in out all day long (not one to sit still at all).  So these little critters come in all day long!!  Jim has some fancy name for them but to me it's just a bug!  Squash!

That happy looking little frog is from I Brake For Stamps...one of the after Christmas gifts to myself.  I cut a circle in the top panel and then placed the scrap of green strip paper on the card base.  Popped up the frog (after coloring and adding his googly eyes) on the stripe and then also popped up the circle panel.  The sentiment is computer generated.

One last note here before I go away and quit "bugging" you...........Don't forget to check my two previous posts regarding a couple of Blog Hops going on that I'm involved in!!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.......and thanks for stopping by.........

Blue Poppies

I was playing around with my Poppy die and this is what I came up with.  I LOVE that blue color (Robin's Egg) and it matched perfectly with a scrap of patterned paper I had.  It's one of those cards that really is prettier in real life.  I used Confetti Cream as a base and for layering but do you really think I had any off white ribbon to match it!!!  Of course not......I only have about a 100 rolls of ribbon - but none the right color or width.......SO, I just used some white!  It gives it a different look but I wasn't about to start all over on this baby since this was like my 4th attempt at getting it to look similar to how it looked in my mind!  For some reason, things always look better in my mind.  It's a little like shopping for clothes.......you see something on the rack and it's knock dead gorgeous.  You're thinking about how awesome it'd look on you .........and then you try it on!  Uck!!!!!
It's pretty much an all occasion card but I'll probably use it as a sympathy card when I need it.

Short and sweet here today but I'll be back on Wednesday with a couple posts for you!

Let It Snow

I'm back again with another card for our challenge over at Digi Haven.  Our theme this go-round is Baby It's Cold Outside.  We're being sponsored by Bugaboo who graciously provided the images for the DT to use.  Head on over to Digi Haven to see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and enter our challenge.

No snow around here but I can at least put it on my card!  I used the Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp and some embossing paste against a Bashful Blue background.  The sentiment and label are from Studio G I believe.  After printing and coloring this little guy I slipped the bottom of his broom behind the hill of "snow" and then popped him up a bit.

Be sure and stop by Digi Haven and enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize package from Bugaboo.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Kaboodles Doodles (Let it Snow).

Krafty Heart

I thought I'd throw in another little 4 by 4 heart card today that was a breeze to make.  Gotta love those CAS and quick cards you know.

I used some Kraft card stock and embossed it with the Square Lattice folder from SU.  I die cut a white Memory Box Whimsy Circle and then also cut the heart from a Simon Says Stamp die.  The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and embossed in white.  Just as a little something extra I wrapped some twine around the heart.

A quick little Valentine card that may just go to Jim.  He's not real big on Valentine's Day......used to give me a box of candy but since I'm not a big sweet eater I told him not to do that anymore.  Then he went with the flowers - hey, come on....they just wilt and die.  Next was a fancy, smanchy pair of earrings.......Somehow they just never look right with shorts, sweats, or jeans!  LOL!  Finally I told him if he couldn't give me that Corvette that I've been dreaming about for years, to just give me a hug.  Needless to say, I get a nice hug every single year!!  It works!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Addicted to CAS ( Die Cuts), Mod Squad Challenge (my three favorite things used on this card are Die Cuts (heart and whimsy circle), Twine, and Kraft Cardstock, and Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Love's the Word

I have no earthly idea how I managed to get all those "Love" words lined up and spaced pretty well even.  I had a piece of white card stock sitting on my desk and saw this wood block stamp that I recently found in the dollar bin at a local craft store.  There's not even a company name on the stamp so don't know who made it.  I sat there wondering what it would look like stamped in different colors and just started stamping......no stamp-a-ma-jig or anything.   After I finished stamping them I looked down - and WHOA!!!  They look pretty much evenly spaced and all that.   Purely an accident I assure you!  Never in a gaz-illion years could I ever do anything like that again!  I like the way they looked and decided to finish up a card with it.  I die cut a heart, stamped a small "love you" sentiment, embossed it in white, and it's a done deal.

I'll enter this in the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays (In a Word).

Bunny Hugs

Gosh, I believe this is my very first Valentine card for the year!  I don't send out a whole bunch of these cards but do like to ship one off to all the granddaughters.  So, I'd better get busy!!!  And this little image from Deedee's Digi's was a great way to start.  I entered my card last month using one of her digis so received this one for free this month.  Check out her site and come on over and play along with us. She has really cute digial images in her store.

This is a pre-colored image with some red and blues in it.  I layered it with Midnight Muse and Real Red card stock (SU).  The patterned paper is a piece of scrap from probably Paper Studio.  I embossed all the hearts with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then added some hearts, button, and twine.

A quick little Valentine's Day card for one of those special granddaughters.

Froggie Madness

I think I must have gotten a little bit weirder with all the Christmas happenings going on lately, but every time I see a card with a frog on it now, I want it bad!!!  Frogs really aren't all that good unless you're dining on their legs I guess (Uck!) but I'm loving all of them right now.

It's a good thing I'm having this love affair with the little guys because blogging buddy Darnell sent me a Christmas card and this stamp from Personal Impressions included!  Thanks again Darnell - I love him!  Check out Darnell's blog - such fabulous creations and I guarantee she'll leave you in stitches with her posts!  Jim and I love to fish so this just fit the bill to make a cute "just because" card for him.

I colored it up with Intense Water Color pencils and added a little glossy accents to the fish bowl (minnow keeper).  The sky was sponged with Distress ink and then used a few scraps of paper and ribbon to finish it off.

Since I'm pretty hung up on frogs right now, be prepared as you may be seeing more in the near future!

Have a Peaceful Day

It's a brand new year!  Happy 2014!  Hope you have a healthy and Happy New Year!

I know I'm probably totally weird, but I really like to make masculine type cards.  The stamp and sentiment  are from Mark's Finest Papers and I believe this bird is called a nuthatch.  I've never seen one and was too lazy to Google it to see what color they actually were - so just colored it up (with Copics) like I wanted.  If it's not the colors of a nuthatch I guess I've just come up with a new breed!  I spread a little Frantage around the image and cut it out with a circle Nestie.  The card stock I used for the base is Chocolate Chip and then added some scraps of patterned paper.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets) and Sweet Stampin' (a little bird told me).
