Trash to Treasure

I started making this card and didn't like it so tossed it in the trash.  It sat in there for about two days before I dug it out and decided to try and do something with it.  I'm not a "splatter girl" at all but attempted it on this card.  Looks more like it has measles than anything else  - but whatever.  The image is from My Favorite things and I used watercolors to color it.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and was embossed in gold.  The oval frame was leftover from another project.

I actually needed to send this "get well soon" card to myself!  I've been a little under the weather and that's why I haven't been around to your blog lately.  I'll be trying to catch up when I can.  I'm still not 100% but getting better - hopefully!

A Ha Ha Birthday

Not much to say about this card other than it's for a birthday and I need to get it in the mail pretty quick.  I used a stamp from Paper Rose  - colored in Copics, mounted on a piece of patterned paper, and some twine and a sentiment added.  Done deal.

Double Cluck

A couple of clucks here today.......what else can I say!

Both are using a stamp set from  Essentials by Ellen

First Cluck..........a window die from My Favorite Things, couple of embossed clouds and some sponged clouds.

Second Cluck........just the chick image and some little footprints.

Two VERY clean and simple (fun) clucks for some birthdays coming up on the calendar.

Thanks for stopping by........and keep smiling........

CAS Butterfly

This card started out for a male......then a female.....then back to a male.  It's still for a male as I'm going to be sending it along with some things to my brother who loves butterflies.

This was one of those cards that I had in my mind and then it took at totally different turn somewhere along the way.  Before it took the turn I couldn't figure out what to do with it.  I had the Kraft card base and then stamped the grid type image across the top with Frayed Burlap Oxide ink.  Then it sat there looking at me.  I even asked a good blogging friend for ideas on what to do next.  She had such a great idea but I didn't have any images like she suggested so it sat for a couple more days.  I finally decided to see what a butterfly looked like on it and yep, it worked, and I like the card now.  The butterfly die is from Impression Obsession and it's cut with vellum and also white cardstock.  The "Hello" sentiment is an old one from Close to My Heart and is also stamped in the Frayed Burlap Oxide ink.  I always forget about those inks stamping nice.

I'll enter this in the challenges at:  Creative Knockouts #490 - Add a sentiment and Krafty Chicks Challenge  - CAS, and The Male Room Challenge - Sketch

A Couple of Flowers

I have a double-r here today using a stamp from Unity - just a vase with a flower in it but I thought it was a pretty stamp.   Adding cards to the stash.

Both are "git 'er done" cards.  On the first one I stamped the flower twice and popped up part of it to give it a little dimension.  Also used some patterned paper that was sitting on my desk from another recent card I made.  The second card - did a little stenciling behind the image, colored, stamped with a "thank you", and added some Nuvo drops.

Two simple cards but will be good for whenever I need them.

For A Guy

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone movie or something.  The plaid paper on this card is green (yes, for real) and tan.  Really, really green - and so pretty too.  However......as you can see, it's not green.  Or maybe it is and you're just seeing something that isn't really there.  Yep, Twilight Zone........Green!

I've taken a picture of this in the house, outside in the sunlight, and just about every place I could think of and yet the green won't show up.  Use your imagination.........The stamp is from a set of Inkadinkado stamps that was given to me a while back.  It's stamped on some patterned paper.  The sentiment, also on patterned paper, is a very old one from Close To My Heart.

I've been trying to re-organize and go through all my stamping stuff around here and am finding all kinds of goodies - like the silver star.  I have brads, eyelets, and charms, etc. all over the place.  The star just had to go on this card.

I'm going to enter this in the challenge at Farm Quest General Store Challenge Blog.  Horses are on farms you know......along with cows, pigs, chickens, etc.  Maybe not on all farms, but some farms so it'll qualify hopefully.

Birthday Gnome

This is for a special friend who has a birthday coming up next week - and it just so happens it's on St. Patrick's Day too - so I had to add a tad bit of green to the card of course.

The stamp set I used is from Inkadinkado.   It reminds me of spring (which I hope is coming pretty quick around here as I'm tired of cold weather now).  Anyway,  he's colored in Copics.  The banner....ah the banner.........I got it  made with the intention of placing it vertical and not horizontal.   However, it got slapped down on the card and I knew if I tried to get it up and re-position it, I was going to wreck the card - so.........

Barely There

No, we're not talking about my mind being barely there - although it appears it's that way a lot of the time.  We're talking about the bucket.  Yes, the bucket!  The challenge over at Farm Quest is to use galvanized tin, wooden items, etc.  I knew I'd have something for this challenge and yep, I had the bucket........and also the wooden crates for the flowers too!  So, here you go......

The stamp is from Stampendous and I colored it with watercolors.  The sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps (no longer in business) and was a perfect fit for the image.   For that good old country feel we have the pickup truck, crates/baskets of flowers, the dog in the back of the truck (of course), the gingham paper - and last but not least - that little old bucket!

(You'll notice I forgot to color the grass or dirt or whatever the truck is sitting on.  Now I could delete all this, color it, take another picture, and add the new picture - but do you realize how much trouble that would be!!  So, use your imagination and pretend the ground is either grass or dirt and colored so pretty.  It is what it is!)

I'll enter this at Farm Quest Challenge Blog

Thanks for stopping by.........and keep smiling!
