This week at Seize the Birthday we need to see your masculine cards - using the same sketch as last week. Yep, it's time again for another challenge and we can't wait to see all your wonderful creations! We're again sponsored by Uniko Studio. Come on over and play along!
Lots of stripes on here and super CAS - but I think the guys always like something this. I again turned the sketch on the side and did a little scoring under the sentiment (that's from Uniko Studio), added the DP, punched out some stars from SU die, and added the brads. That's about it, folks!
Just a note here - as your reading this post I'll be on my way to visit my daughter and family for a few days. I'll be back to visit soon though. So, until then - hope you have a nice Easter.
Thanks for stopping by..................and be sure and check out Seize the Birthday this week!

Homework
This was a "homework" assignment from the Pattern Play class that I took last week. Pretty much like what happened when I was in school and was late with my homework! Sigh! I finally decided to buckle down and see if I could manipulate some of the pattern pieces like they showed on one of the videos.
This turned out to be a CASE of one that was on the video but figured that was ok since I didn't know what I was doing. I changed the patterned paper, embossing, and image - but otherwise it's close to the same. I used some patterned paper from DCWV called Linen Closet. It's gorgeous paper (some with glitter on it too) but I had absolutely no card stock to match it. I didn't realize this though until I got all the strips of paper cut out!!! Figures! Anyway, I put all the pieces together and this is what came out - not perfect, but at least I got all the strips on the card.
I picked this SU image to use and then added the "welcome, little one" and got to thinking......this is pretty tacky putting a HIPPO on a baby card!! I mean, I sure wouldn't want some brand new mother or dad to think that I thought their baby was as big as a Hippo! LOL! I think maybe I need to change that sentiment to Happy Birthday or something!

Swimmin' By
Well, a couple of days ago I was "Buzzin' By" and now I'm "Swimmin' By". We had a couple of days of Spring and are now into Summer it seems! Monday, it was 96 degrees here - and then cooled down a little. The last couple of days we were back up in the 90's! Today, we've cooled down again. Crazy Texas weather!!
These little fish and sentiment are free images from The Alley Way Stamps. I used some Paper Studio DP and then colored and cut out the fish and placed them on dimensionals. I didn't have any green paper to match these little guys so colored a couple of strips of white card stock with my Copics.
This card is for the Inspiration Challenge going on right now at The Alley Way Stamps.

Here's the Buzz.....
Ok, everyone.....here's the latest "buzz"........It's SATURDAY!!!! (Um, I can tell everyone is so excited now!)
I CASEd this card after seeing a beautiful one over at Stamping With Klass (Bonnie) a couple of days ago. She always makes the prettiest cards - and even though this one can't compare to her card, it's my attempt. I used the Honeycomb embossing folder from SU and Just Buzzin' By stamps (also from SU). The snips of DP in the little hexagons was given to me so long ago and is great for "bee" cards.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.........

Female Butterflies
I'm back with a post today for Seize the Birthday! We have a new sketch for you to try and need to see your feminine birthday cards. Our sponsor is Uniko Designs and I've used the same stamps as I did last week when I created a masculine card. Be sure and check out all the details for the Seize the Birthday challenge and be inspired by all the wonderful creations from the Design Team.
Now I, for one, can not tell the difference between a male and female butterfly - but figured since these were stamped in pink and I have girl-y type DP, they just gotta be female butterflies! I stamped these in Pretty in Pink and added pearls to one of them to say it was "simply the best" as the sentiment says. I even did some straight stitching on this! GASP!!! I almost got it straight too! As you can see, I turned the sketch on the side for my card today.
Be sure and head on over to Seize the Birthday and join in on our challenge!

Belly Button Pearl
I've been SO bad lately! Don't think I've posted a card since Friday!! The last few days have just been a "I'm not in the mood to craft today" type deal.......so, I didn't! I'll try to be better - but no promises. The weather is just too beautiful to stay indoors right now.
I got a "wild hair" the other day and signed up for an on-line class called Pattern Play! I'm so bad at mixing and matching patterned paper so thought maybe I could pick up some hints. I can tell you right now though, all the patterned paper on this card is just making me dizzy!!! I'm thinking I still must have a lot to learn but am picking up on some fantastic hints on working with patterned paper! Anyway, I tried to mix some of it together and this is what came out. I'm going to have to re-think my thinking on all this as I just like a lot of white space on cards.
Oh, almost forgot.......you're probably wondering about the title of this post - Belly Button Pearl! NO, I do not have a pearl in my belly button - but this little owl does!! It's one of those tiny pearls from SU and if you look REALLY close, you can see it in the center of the punched out flower.

A Little Bit of Love
Thought I'd make a card today that wasn't themed Easter or St. Patrick's Day and just show a bit of LOVE! A couple of years ago a friend of mine gave me a small box that was filled with stuff that belonged to her mom - buttons, charms, old coins, and looks like some old pieces of jewelry. This heart was in the box. I mounted it on a square of burlap and added the ribbon and "I Love You" sentiment. A quick and easy card that I thought I'd give the hubs - so he could give the heart back to me with a chain on it! LOL!
This is for the challenge at CAS(e) This Sketch this week.

Masculine Birthday-Seize the Birthday
I'm back again with another Seize the Birthday challenge! We're using the same sketch as last week, but this time need to see your masculine cards. Come on over to the Seize the Birthday blog and show us your masculine creations. We're again sponsored by Uniko Studio who graciously provided myself and several others the Bright Butterflies stamp set. Be sure and stop by the blog to see all the inspiration from the DT.
This will be a birthday card for my brother who's an avid butterfly (and bird) watcher. I tried to use some male-ish type colors on this with the red, green, and yellow. They're mounted on a piece of Very Vanilla that's been embossed with the Wood Grain embossing folder. This was all placed on some older CTMH DP. I added a silver brad to each of the spots on the butterfly wings.

You Make the Call
It's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!! Thought I'd share a fun card (border line Funny Friday) but there's a catch on this one!
I need y'all to "make the call" and tell me what you think is going on with this crazy cat!!! Yikes! What could have happened to him (or her)? What did he see, sit on, eat, hear, etc......let's see what your Funny Friday would be with this card! Can't wait to hear your answers!!!
Thanks for stopping by.......(oh, and by the way - that polka dot paper is really gray, not brown - the camera thought it was brown though so that's what you get!) Now let's hear some fun answers for this Funny Friday!

Framed Flowers - Seize the Birthday
A brand new month and a brand new sketch at the Seize the Birthday challenge this week! We want to see your feminine cards this go round. Be sure and stop by the challenge blog and see all the inspiration from the DT. We're being sponsored by Uniko Studio! Check out their store - fabulous stamps and papers.
Those flowers and the butterfly make me think that Spring is just around the corner now! Hooray!! I used a couple of stamps from Watercolor Trio (SU) for this birthday card....added a bit of DP and a tiny butterfly with a pearl. I've framed it out using the Tulip embossing folder from SU, cut down to a size to fit the image. I haven't used this folder much because it always seems to be larger than what I want. I saw on Pinterest how to cut it down (here), so tried it and it seemed to fit my image just like I wanted it to.
Great sketch AND a great sponsor for this challenge!

Froggie Music
I love frogs!! When I was young, my cousin and I would get on our bikes and head for the nearest stream of water and catch those little suckers. We'd put them in a coffee can, get on our bikes, and pedal on home. Of course by the time we got home, they were pretty stiff! Even at this age, I still like them (except for last year when one squirted Rambo in the eye, his head swelled up like a watermelon, and we had a horrid vet bill). I think I like them a lot better on paper now!
This little froggie is from Penny Black and I used some SU DP with it. The sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps. I scored a bit around the image and am thinking I really needed a smaller button but couldn't find one the right color (without cutting one off a shirt). The sketch is from CAS(E) this Sketch - and yep, I'm late once again and didn't get it entered in the challenge! Sigh!
I'll enter this in the challenge at Simon Says Stamps (A Bit of Green).

Something to ALWAYS Remember
Thought I'd start everyone's week off with a little humor! Hope you have a fun week planned!
See..... I told ya.............ALWAYS remember this!!!
If you've ever worn spurs and you've ever been out in the brush without the "proper facilities", then you know what I'm talking about! I personally don't wear spurs but do find myself in the brush at times. The only real problem I have with that (other than being a tad bit uncomfortable) is that I'm always afraid a snake will come along and bite my butt! What more can I say!!! LOL!!
The image and sentiment are from Crackerbox Palace - I love their stamps!!! If you get a chance stop by their store! (And Connie, I'm going to have to dedicate this card to YOU)
I'll enter this is the sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday.

Late Again
I made this card for a challenge at The Craft's Meow - last week! As usual, I'm a couple of days late to enter it, but thought I'd post it anyway. They had another sketch starting yesterday, so maybe I can get one made in time for that!
Not much to say about the card.....I scored a little around the edges, added the DP strips, made a double bow, and have the sentiment as the focal point. Ta-da......it's done!
Thanks for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.
