A fun card for someone special here at the Back Forty. Guess this will probably have to go to Jim since they resemble each other - and he really is a special someone in my life. Don't know if he'll agree with the resemblance though!
This is one of those - where was your freaking mind? - cards! I stamped the image, from Crackerbox Palace, and then colored the bandana and hat band in blue. All's good.......after getting it completed though I decided it needed to be red instead. Stamped and colored again and paper pieced the bandana and the cut out the hat and popped it up over the one with the blue on it. Instant dimension! All's good once again.
Ok, let's make it look like a wanted poster. YIKES! Don't ever try what I did in the house! I decided to burn around the edges for that rustic feel. Got out the matches and fired up. When you do that you're not only going to have burning paper everywhere but also a stench that will knock your socks off! It was too windy to attempt this all outside so just carried on and then started spraying Fabreze everywhere! Gives it a different look anyway.
Oh, the image was stamped on some vanilla Neenah card stock and then added the Paper Studio wood looking paper. I sponged around the image and base card with Antique Linen. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and I added a tiny red heart and the twine.
I'll enter this in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
Thanks for stopping by.........and have a great weekend!

Cow Are You
Cowabunga. how now brown cow, till the cows come home, and all those other cute cow sayings! We have cows in Texas. Yep, all kinds of cows....but don't know if I've ever seen any as cute as these two. Although I did have one a long time ago named Harold that was almost as cute. Anyway.....
They're from Deedee's Digis and I've used the pre-colored version today. The set also comes in the line version you can color yourself AND that cute cowhide looking paper AND sentiments. A win win situation! Be sure and check out Deedee's Digis for not only this set but so many more as well. Plus, there's our monthly progressive challenge going on and you can read all about it there.
I actually printed out the big mama twice and popped her up to give some dimension. The sky was sponged in and sun added. Like I said, the black and white patterned paper came with this set of digis but then I added some red and white gingham check paper as well. A bit of twine and it's done.

You're Pawsome
Just a quick birthday card to share today.........
This will be going to one of the granddaughters who loves Rambo and Sassy (bless her heart). Of course they're pretty easy to love though. The dog and cat stamps and dies are from Simon Says Stamp and I also used the Stitched Hillside Borders die from LF and a balloon die from Paper Smooches.
I'll be taking this little Rambo and Sassy over to Pixie's Crafty Workshop for her snippets challenge. Um.....I think they're going to be joining a bruiser of a guard dog over there! Pretty scary but just know that Rambo and Sassy will fit right in!! Check out what I'm talking about HERE. LOL!

Sharing a Carrot
It's a mouse - and a rabbit! Nothing better than sharing a carrot with friends I guess. Rambo (our doxie) and I usually share one too. Never knew a dog would like carrots. Anyway..........
I used the House Mouse stamp called Carrot Friends - colored in Copics and then popped up and mounted on a stitched die. Two pieces of different patterned paper were added and then the ribbon. I have so much patterned paper and never seem to use it enough, but sure know how to collect it - just like everyone else I suppose.
I'd like to enter this in the challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge (Friends).
Thanks for stopping by.........and have a great weekend!

Bouquet Splat
Scrapy Land Challenge is up again and we have a fun theme for you this time. SPLAT - Use spray mists, paint, inks, etc.....plus one of the brands from the Scrapy Land store too of course. Be sure and enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize from the store. Also, check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.
I used a Memory Box die called Blushing Bouquet that can be found in the Scrapy Land store. It's a fairly large die - at least for me - and pretty well takes up the entire card. The die was cut twice with one of the cuts being on the polka dot paper like the edging. A pearl was added to the center of each flower and the sentiment (from Stampin' Up) was embossed on vellum with Liquid Platinum.
The SPLATS! I've watched all the videos, etc. on how to do that bit of putting the ink of a paintbrush and then tapping it to make the cute little splats. Not going to happen with me though because I run out of patience way too quick! I did pretty good on them for a while on this and then figured it was taking too long so instead of tapping I THUMPED! Now the splat looks like a splatter. I guess splats and splatters are pretty much the same though so there you are! Oh, I used Peacock Feathers distress ink mixed with water for the splats/splatters.
Thanks for stopping by.........and be sure and check out Scrapy Land Challenges.

Work It
Time again for another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown! This week we're being sponsored by Sassy Studio and our theme is to Use Metal! Thanks to Sassy Studio for providing the images for the DT to use on this challenge.
This is definitely one sassy lady and she's all decked out to do some work. Jim would probably like it if I dressed like that when I was helping him do things too! She's colored in Copics and I used some Tim Holtz star dies. The background paper is from Stampin' Up and also the large brad at the top. A small star brad was added to the smaller stars.
This will be my last post for Tuesday Throwdown. I've enjoyed being on the DT so much. All the ladies on the team are just super and I'll miss them - but still will be stopping by their blogs of course. Thanks to Tuesday Throwdown!

It's Officially Over
Valentine's Day is officially over with so that can only mean one thing - Spring is on the way! This will be me in another couple of months and in the mean time there's tilling to be done and getting the garden all ready for planting. We've down-sized so much in the last few years on our planting but it's still always a big job. We used to plant between 50 and 75 tomato plants. This year we say we're only going to plant maybe 24. A week goes by, and we say 12. Another week goes by, and it becomes 6. By the time all the plants are in the ground, it's already back up to about 18 or 24! Keeps me busy I guess but sure is a lot of work.
This is an image from Sassy Cheryl and is such a cutie. I used some "hello sunshine" paper that came in a Simon Says Stamp kit and also some scraps that were on my desk. The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers.

Lucky Stars
I masked off the square and used a star stencil with transparent embossing paste. I then sponged in some Stampin' Up Brilliant Blue, added the sentiment from Lawn Fawn, and then a little wooden heart. Sounds easy enough - then WHY did it take me four hours to do it!!!!!
This is another entry in the sketch challenge that Leslie has going on at The Crooked Stamper. It's her first challenge and I wanted to show her my support. I do love a sketch challenge and am looking forward to the future ones from her too.
I'd also like to enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets). Not too many snippets on here except for the sentiment banner and some white strip snippets on the side to break up the blue border a little.
Thanks for stopping by.........and have a great weekend.

Daisy Picking Valentine
I'm breaking tradition here and using blue and yellow on my Valentine card instead of all the reds and pinks. I've seen so many Valentine cards the last couple of weeks and am MORE than ready to move on to spring or summer - or even fall! I'm almost to the point of wanting to put away all that red and pink stuff and not even looking at again until next Valentine's Day!
Anyway, this image came by way of From the Heart stamps with their progressive challenge. I played along last month with another cute image so received this one for free this month and will be playing along again! They have some really cute images there.
I used to love picking daisies and then pull off the petals. I ALWAYS had to cheat!!! I mean, who wants to end up with the "he loves me not" business anyway!

Critters
I used some "older than dirt" patterned paper from Stampin' Up to paper piece little dino - and also for the background. Some clouds were sponged in and I used Critters from the Past stamp set and dies from Lawn Fawn. Clean and simple but fun.
I'd like to enter this in a couple of challenges. First of all, Leslie, over the The Crooked Stamper has started a Sketch Challenge - this is her very first one too - and I have to say I LOVE that sketch! In fact, I loved it so much my mind went totally blank when trying to make a card for it. Anyway, I finally decided on what I was going to do. Here's her sketch:
I'd also like to enter this in the Clean and Simple Lawnscaping Challenge. They always have great challenges.
Thanks for stopping by.............and hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Scrapy Heart
Time again for another Scrapy Land Challenge and our theme this time is Anything Goes. Head on over to the blog and see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT. Enter for your change to win a wonderful prize from the Scrapy Land store! Be sure and use one of the brands that can be found at Scrapy Land on your entry.
I did some of that watercoloring stuff on part behind the heart using Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Fired Brick, and Seedless Preserves. I smashed all the ink on a craft sheet, squirted on some water, and then smushed the card stock in it. The heart die is from Impression Obsession and can be found in the Scrapy Land store. The sentiment is an old one that I inked up with Momento Rosebud. A line of pearls were added.
Thanks for stopping by........and be sure and check out the Scrapy Land Challenge!

Monster Mashing
So, anyway........as I was saying..........It's Tuesday Throwdown Challenge time again and our theme for this week is Monster Mash. Yep, we need to see all the little monsters you have hiding in your craft room! Eeek! Our sponsor is MyGrafico who provided all the images you'll see. Be sure and enter for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from our sponsor!
I colored this little dude in Copics and then made all his spots with a white gel pen.....sorta looks like maybe he has the measles or something! Three googly eyes added and then the sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp kit. I added a tiny blue heart by the sentiment - just because!
I'll take my little monster over to Pixie's Crafty Workshop for the snippets challenge this week!
Thanks for stopping by..........and be sure and check out the Tuesday Throwdown challenge!

Tiger Twins
This one was put in the mail almost as soon as I created it! It's from Deedee's Digis and it's the stamp of the month for the progressive challenge there! All you have to do is grab this for a reduced price (unless you got it free by playing along last month), play along this month, and then next month another free set will be sent to you. It's a win/win situation and Deedee's Digs are all fantastic!
This is a pre-colored image but it also comes in the line version you can color yourself plus another image of these little tigers that will have you giggling. The set also comes with oodles of sentiments!!! I used some black textured card stock and some snippets of Halloween paper! A bit of twine finished it off. Very clean and simple but I didn't think it needed much else since the image was so cute.
Thanks for stopping by......and check out Deedee's Digis and join in on our progressive challenge!
