Clean and Simple Challenge #81

This card is for the Clean and Simple Challenge #81. You know, sometimes the simplest things can really turn into a chore! This sketch looked so simple!! I worked on this card ALL DAY LONG. I finally got everything like I wanted it and looked down and had smeared blue ink all across the bottom! So, back to the drawing board....Anyway, here's the end result.

I used two SU sets - Just Beachy (for the fish) and Pony Party (for the little birthday hat). The sentiment is computer generated, cut out, and then a little sponging around the edges. The "waves" were done using the scallop edge punch.

Small Size Panic

Well, I'm in a small size panic right now! The site that I left in my last post said I got the little cowgirl free digital image from HERE (meaning denizaworld.blogspot.com). However, when I went to that site to make SURE, I can't find that image......SO.....I'm in the process of looking for it! I WILL post the correct site as soon as I find it! Yikes! So frustrating....I need a better way of labeling my digital images. I thought I had this one right, but guess I didn't.

YEEHAW!!!!!

I am NOT a distressing type card maker at all! But, for the StampsRUs Challenge blog the instructions were to distress! So, here's my attempt at this. Usually when I try to distress something it either looks like I needed a new blade in my paper cutter or a mouse has been chewing away at my paper....I may try to post another one (distressed) before the end of the month. At the StampsRUs challenge blog you have a whole month (YES!) to post your entry.

The image I used is a digital freebie that you can find HERE. A cute little cowgirl....and yes, like the sentiment says, there's a little cowboy in all of us! The paper I used was all from CTMH-Dutch Blue, Sunflower, White, and DP. I also used (from CTMH) the Chocolate Distressing ink and some Dutch Blue ink. The sentiment is from CTMH Yehaw. I used various markers and Prismacolor pencils to color the image, jute twine, and a little glitter on the fringe on her blouse.

Note: You may have to "click" on this to see the distressing better - however, BEWARE, if you do. This little babe's lips are just wild. They remind me on my great aunt....as she got older she always wanted to wear lipstick but just never really hit her lips and it was usually all over her face. Now this isn't that bad, but the lips did get an extra dose of red it seems!!!

Life is So Good!

Well, I didn't go in my craft room (at all) yesterday or the day before...feeling a little better now and not like my brain has fried completely. I guess I just needed to "get away' for a day or two.

This is a very clean and simple card but thought it came out cute and it will be mailed to my sister and brother in law next month.

The image is from the stamp set Life is So Good (CTMH) and the sentiment from Well Scripted by SU. Paper and ink used were Lovely Lilac, Pixie Pink, and YoYo Yellow. The stems and leaves were stamped in Clover Meadow from CTMH. I also used lilac gingham ribbon.

Congrats!

I needed a really quick "congrats" card today and literally threw this one together.......(I know, it looks like it was "thrown together" too!) I think my brain is fried or something. I just can not for the life of me come up with anything I like. I mean, I made a card yesterday and in my mind it was just gorgeous. However, after I completed it, I threw it in the trash - and didn't really want to even do that in case someone accidentally saw it there! How bad is that!! SO, tomorrow I think I'll stay completely out of the craft room and see if my brain starts clicking in again.

I used Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, White and Tea Party DP (SU) on this card. The sentiment is from Gracious Greetings (CTMH). I added the paper flowers with brads and it was done.

Quick and Easy

I started looking the other day and have determined that there are HUNDREDS of challenges out here in "blogger-land"! I've never seen so many! Some of the sketch challenges are really good though so I keep a notebook of them to refer back to ever so often.

As I've said before, usually by the time I can come up with an idea for one of the challenges, it's "history". This sketch challenge is from Sweet Sunday and I really liked it so decided to play along for this week -and actually had an idea on what I was going to do!!! SHOCK!

The cardstock I used is Really Rust, Very Vanilla, (from SU) and Sunflower (from CTMH) - and used ink in the same colors - plus Kiwi Kiss. The stamp set is Pocket Silhouettes from SU. Tools used were the Word Window Punch, Button, Twine, AND this gorgeous ribbon from Wal-Mart (of all places). Isn't it just so pretty? In fact, I bought two spools of it when I saw it. This was really quick and easy to put together. I think I'll leave off the sentiment if I make another one like it though.
