Froggy Valentine

Using another one of the panels I created with the alcohol inks.  This one reminded me of lily pads so what better to put on that other than a frog from Penny Black of course.

Are we getting tired of Valentine's Day cards yet?!  Only a couple more days so all will be good once again.

Bright Thanks

Very seldom will I try something new at all, but I recently saw a video using alcohol inks and Yupo paper and liked it.  Of course I didn't have any of the inks (or paper either for that matter) so splurged and got a bottle of  the blue, green, and yellow inks and a package of the Yupo.    Last of the big time spenders - right?

I figured those colors just have to look good together - maybe?  The jury is still out on the colors I picked mainly because the green and yellow turned into lime (minus the margarita!!).   It still came out looking pretty close to something or another.  (Like maybe splotches of blue, green and yellow)?   Since I was at a complete loss on what to do with this after it dried, I just die cut the piece with a rectangle die and then slapped a "thanks" die from Memory Box on it and layered it several times to make it kinda poof out a little.

Something different anyway.......

More Raccoons!

Another little raccoon from Hero Arts for you today.  Since it's another clean and simple card there really isn't too much you can say about it - so I just won't say anything.

I know I  haven't been around lately.  The computer bit the dust last week.  It wasn't pretty at all.   Surely this new one will last a little bit longer though.

Garbage

I think I probably took at least 10 photos of this card and no matter what I did, it wasn't coming out right.  The colors are all wonky and the whole thing looks totally screwy!  But.....it is what it is and I'm tired of trying to get a good picture of it.  In other words, I just gave up!

The little raccoon is from the Love Bandit set - Hero Arts.   Not only was is impossible to get a good photo of it but it took two days to finally come up with an idea on how to get that raccoon on a card and have it look right.  I saw the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches though and that seemed to make it all come together - so I'll enter it in their sketch challenge this week!

Thanks for stopping by.............and have a great weekend

Git 'Er Done Valentine

Yep, Valentine's Day is right around the corner so I figured I'd better hurry up and get a couple of cards made.  This really is a git 'er done card.   My brain was having a hard time kicking in that day.  It does that more days than not lately though it seems.

That cute little penguin and the sentiment are from Gerda Steiner Designs.   Gosh, there's not much else to say about this other than I added a piece of twine.  Done deal!

I assume penguins can be considered critters so I'll enter then in the 2  Crafty Critter Crazies challenge.

Joyous?

Better late than never, right?  This was one of the cards I sent out for Christmas last month.   I managed to get it posted to Instagram, but not over here.  Don't know if they're spreading joy or just waiting for a treat to come their way!

I did a little stenciling behind this cute group but it's hard to see.  I seem to either have a really heavy hand with that - or no hand at all.   The stamp is from Simon Says Stamp and then sentiment from Hero Arts.

The Slacker Is Back

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and yes.....Happy Valentine's Day too!  I'm back.....at least for today.

I saw the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge last week and really liked it so figured I'm give it a whirl.  I attempted a technique that Jennifer McGuire showed using alcohol inks and water for the background on this card.  I don't have any alcohol inks so used some Copic refills.  The hearts are from Stampin' Up.

What surprised me most of all was that I didn't turn my craft area into a pink, red, and blue room due to spilling the water everywhere.  I also didn't end up looking like a pink Smurf either which was a plus.

I'll enter this in the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by............and I'll hopefully be back soon.
