Hanging Around

I started to title this post "Fried Brain" but thought Hanging Around sounded a little better today.  The reason it was going to be named Fried Brain is because I'm really thinking that's what's happened to my brain in all this heat!  I've just lost all my motivation to do anything....I don't want to create, cook, clean,, ( well, cooking and cleaning probably don't have anything to do with the heat) or ANYTHING.   If you don't live in Texas, you may have heard on the news about how hot and dry it is here this year.  Let me tell 'ya - it's not pretty AT ALL!  Yesterday we got up to 113 degrees!  Maybe by October I'll get some mojo back.  Until then I'll keep struggling along I guess.

I recently won some blog candy from Rebekka's blog (A Diamond in the Rough) and was just overwhelmed at all the goodies that were in that box!  One of the many stamp sets she sent was from Gina K called Seeds of Kindness.  I'd been eying this hanging basket of ivy image from that set after seeing a card in my Copic Coloring Guide.  So, due to having Fried Brain, decided to CASE that card.  This is almost a total CASE too.  I did sew around the main panel though.  I've never done straight stitching on a card and believe me...it's a  lot harder than it looks.  I  managed to get the seams somewhat straight but the top and bottom are at two different measurements.

Anyway, thank you again Rebekka for all the lovely things you sent.

Thanks for stopping by.........
Lynn

Love this card and the stitching is perfect, with a great color combo. Congrats on winning, I am sure you will put all the fun goodies to good use, once it cools down, it will cool down right....??? I thought I lost my mojo as well, but on Friday, I made 5 things :) well I didn't study, but will catch up this week, now that my mojo is asleep again.

Oh my gosh Lynne, I don't know how you can do much of anything with those sizzling temperatures! It must be just awful for you and everyone else living there!
I love the card you made, and the stitching looks perfect! You did a great job with everything in spite of the heat!
Thanks for the well wishes for me during the storm. We were very fortunate indeed!

Congratulations on winning goodies Lynn! That is a great stamp and you have made a lovely card with it! The sentiment is perfect! I know what you mean by Fried Brain - when I get too hot, I cannot think straight at all!

Having a fried brain is good for you. This is beautiful! You have the heat and no rain and we have had the wettest August here in PA and the hurricane didn't help. Sometimes, when I feel like you do, I just walk away from my studio for awhile and do something else, like read a book. I know your mojo will be back in full force soon but in the meantime, you seem to be doing just fine. ;-)

Lovely card, I can understand the "fried brain" and the cooking and cleaning part. :) 113 is insane, I don't know how you handle it. Fall will be here soon, hang in there. :)

I feel your pain with the straight stitching, but honestly, I think it looks great!!! Love the hanging plant!

I know what your talking about with the fried brain! I think my mojo went out the door along w/ my electricity! It's back now (electricity) but not my mojo!!

Will probably take a few more days off too!!!

Maria :)
