The nice part about living in the country is that you don't have any traffic and you get to see all kinds of wildlife. The downside of the country is, first and foremost - no craft stores nearby...and also no restaurants or fast food joints. So,,,,,,,here's the conversation that came about the other night......
Jim - What's for dinner?
Lynn - I don't know.
Jim - (blank stare....) well?
Lynn - (I must have been in one of my moods....) Look, I'm tired of thinking of what to cook, cooking it, and then having to clean it up, so, we're having nothing or whatever you can find. I mean, come on, do I look like Paula Deen!!
Jim - (HUGE SMILE on his face) Great!!!
I left the room for a minute and when I returned, THIS was sitting on the table!!!
Lynn - What in the devil is THAT?
Jim - (Still a huge smile on his face) Vienna Sausage and that's what I'm having along with some crackers!
Lynn - Um...great combo and so healthy. I don't think I'll share any of that with you though! That's just nasty looking!
Can you believe this!! I mean, I've been cooking for years - and the man is lovin' Vienna Sausage!!! Yikes! And the way he plopped it on that plate! I thought I was going to pee right in my pants I was laughing so hard! (One side note here - Jim and I actually share in the cooking, cleaning it up, and all that - just didn't want anyone to think I was the maid here!)
So, anyway (if you're still with me after all this gibberish), I made a card for him so when he decides to have such a scrumptious meal in the future I'll give him this little card to go along with it.
I'll enter this is the challenge at Daring Cardmakers (theme Kitchenalia)
Thanks for stopping by.....and hope this puts a smile on your face!
Lynn

You and Jim are TOO funny! I gotta hand it to Jim on this gourmet meal......he actually had those sausages standing perfectly on the plate! ROFL Oh My Gawd, this is hysterical! Thanks for helping me spew my coffee through my nose this morning! I enjoyed that!! LOL
haha..funny. I use to eat Vienna Sausage's :)
Love the card, great colors and love the paper piecing of his outfit.
Oh, you just made my morning, Lynn! What a fab story!! Love the card and, personally, I think the picture of the Vienna Sausage should be on the inside of the card, suitably matted & framed. :-D Love the paper piecing on the Chef's jacket.
Oh my goodness, this cracked me up! THose sausages look kind of scary though...but it sounds like he enjoyed them. Haha! Love your little chef card with his stylish paper pieced coat. Too cute! Happy Friday! :)
Ha-ha, how priceless! Best conversation about meals I've heard to date. The card is perfect for the upcoming conversation and I love, love the image. Your paper piecing is perfect too.
I am still waiting for Erma Bombeck type book, want to be first in line when you publish. You have the best humor and must be a joy to have around :) This was too funny, to be a fly on your wall, wait probably not a good idea....:) Your card is awesome, love the paper piecing and it so fits with your story. Have a great weekend, get out the shorts and flip flops, upper 70's up here.
I knew what they were right away! (don't like them though, but my dad did and ate them with crackers too).
Your coloring on this card is fabulous and I love the paper piecing too. So, so cute!
You made me laugh there, Lynn! First he gives more importance to the dog (wants him in the frame) and then he thinks these sausages make a swell meal!!! Lol...
The card is as funny as your post. Love your sense of humour.
Hugs,
Monica
You crack me up! I don't think I have ever had Vienna sausage and if I did it didn't leave a great impression! The card is perfect and love the sentiment!! Well, I hope you have a Bon Appetit tonight sweetie! Hugz xoxxo
Lol Lynn, I like the way you have paper pieced the out fit with paper that looks like that plate, enjoy your meal, lol.

Oh my goodness Lynn... You really had me falling out my chair with this one. Just love your sense of humour and hubby's too... hahaha Card is a great one! byeeee... hugs Sharon
And what a pretty yellow patterned plate he chose to put those sausages on! He's got the food display idea going on here. Too bad he didn't add a little garnish. LOL! I laughed so hard ready your account and then seeing that picture of his meal idea! LOVE the card you made for "next time!" :)
What a fab card Lynn! Isn't it funny about food - I eat very healthily as a general rule but sometimes the idea of cream cheese and crackers followed by Ben and Jerry's could get me going too! (Not Vienna Sausage though!)
LOL! When I saw the first picture, I just knew you would have a wonderful story for us! Makes you wonder why you spend all that time cooking! My DH often works nights and my DDs and I have been known to eat cereal for dinner, but Vienna sausages...not on a dare!
Your card is perfect for this story and I love the elegant platter of food and his spiffy jacket!
OMGosh too funny Lynn!! Fantastic picture of the sausages!
I love your card and the paper piecing is awesome! Have a great weekend!

Lynn, Jack and Jim have the same taste in foods, I see. Jack would find nothing wrong with that meal. Jack and I are like you and Jim, share in all the kitchen duties and cooking. Anyway I love your card. the paper piecing is perfect and I love the faux stitching. I look forward to you little stories as much as I look forward to your cards. thanks for being so upbeat and fun loving. You are a nice bright spot in my day as well as a lot of other people's day, I'm sure. Enjoy your weekend.
Talk soon.
Loved your story which made me laugh. Great card too.
LOLOLOL... Oh Lynn! this is Hysterical! So glad I put my coffee cup down before I got to this post.. 8-) or I would have done what Miss Carol did.. my coffee would have been out my nose.. LOL 8-) Yeah, I'm with you.. vienna sausage not my thing either, and not very appetizing looking..lol But I do LOVE your Darling Chef card! Just Fabulous and perfect for the next time you DH decides on Vienna sausages for dinner.. lol

Very cute card, love the paper piecing!
Entertaining post and great inspiration for your fun card!
That was hysterical! I know exactly what you mean about having to think up what's for dinner each night as well as cook it and clean up. Add a finicky 10 yo to the picture and it gets downright frustrating sometimes. lol
Loved the card! It will be perfect for the next time he goes foraging for canned meat for dinner. :)
no idea what Vienna sausage is but hope Jim enjoyed it? super card best wishes Lesley x
The card is very apt! LOL. Very cute.
How funny, Lynn!! I would have to pass on the meal, but your card is a delight!!
I love your stories, as well as this card. :)
ROFL Lynn! We share our cleaning and cooking too! Well I should say Rick does the cooking LOL.
Fabulous card and love the sentiment.

Rofl!!! Hilarious! Your vcrs will go well with my chef boyardee!!! Lol loved your card! And it matches Jims plate :)
Oh my gosh Lynn - I have this same conversation with my husband almost every day - glad to know I am not alone!
Cracked me up when I saw the pic of the Vienna Sausage - it looks like canned dog food - and there would be NO WAY I would eat it - ick!
Do love your card - so fun!
Oh Great Scott! What a so-funny story! Surely hubby will get a kick out of that card next time! LOL

My heavens I had to read to see what was sitting on the plate - too funny!! I really like your card - the paper piecing is perfect and the faux stitching sets it all off really well!
A very funny story! Love your card - chef is one of my favorite SU stamps!
Hats of to Jim. He obviously knows that presentation is everything! Your card mirrors the meal perfectly! Fun story. Fun card.
Hi Lynn!!
Really love that stamp (I have a wine themed kitchen it would go perfectly in), and the paper piecing really ties it all together.
Your story had me LOLing. You guys are too much!
Gorgeous card Lynn, it did make me smile! Thanks for sharing with us at The Daring Cardmakers this week!
I so laughed at your post! :) I too live in the country (highlands) and often despair at what to cook, and nothing is quick to rustle up at all! No fast food or pubs nearby for us too. :)
That sausage looks disgusterous! LOL!!
Great card and I love the paper piecing.

Bwahaahaahaahaa!!!! Vienna sausage is the last thing I would grab for a quick meal!!!! You two sound like us, however, my DH gets out the popcorn...LOL!!!! Your card is adorable and just perfect for your hubby!!!
Erm, I think I prefer the contents on the second plate of food here. Fabby card, loving the gingham. xx

Fun story! I love the paper-pieced chef. Too cute.
LOL I do not think we have ever had those in our house....yuck- they look delicious! Bet your hubby loved his dinner hahahahaha... I love your great card- I love the gingham you added.
At least Jim didn't pull out kippers. It's amazing what a guy will eat. (My apologies to all those kipper lovers.) I love the card and it certainly is appropriate!
What a funny post and a super card. I'm smiling big!!!
