Shaking It Up

I shook it up and made a Santa shaker card!!!  Pretty much of a terrible story all the way around.  Before I get to that though, just wanted to say that this cute little Santa is from Paper Smooches!  CUTE set of stamps too and I love this Santa to pieces!

Stamped Mr. St. Nick, added the Liquid Applique, and cut him out.  For some unknown crazy reason I decided to make a shaker card with him!  NO problem - every one else can do it and so can I!  I'd never made one before but it just couldn't be hard.......right!  Got the acrylic stuff glued on the frame and then added the dimensionals.  Of course I added them to the wrong side - so started over!  Finally got it all put together again, added the sequins, and then made my card!  YEA!  I did it!!!  Picked the card up and shook it - it's so cute with those sequins floating around in there - and they all fell out on the desk!  Yep!!!  You don't even want to know some of the words that came out of my sweet little mouth!  LOL!   Where's the hole!  I couldn't find where they were coming out and in case you haven't noticed those dimensionals really stick - and aren't coming apart!  Ok, started over again!  Finally got it all finished and now the sequins float around perfect.......Way too much work for me though and don't know if I'll ever tackle a shaker card again!

I'm going to enter this in the Anything Goes challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks!

Thanks for stopping by.........and keep smiling!
Lynn

Oh, it is absolutely the best, Lynn. But, what a funny story....because it was you and not me. HAHA It was well worth your effort. I love your floating sequins and the adorable Santa. I think you should make several of these. :-)

Oh, no, Lynn! And I've really been working up the courage to try a shaker card - I may just wait a bit longer - and I'll have to watch some more You Tube videos LOL. No matter how much trouble you had, this turned out AMAZING! So sorry it was such a pain to make but the result is wonderful!

Perfect combination of elements AGAIN! I never think of sequins until I pop over here! You think of using them in the perfect context every time!

hahahhaa.... I love this story... it's so like what happens to me except one of those little shaker buggers might have landed in my eye and blinded me for the day! It's a great card Lynn and no way can you tell the grief it caused you.

I am so sorry for busting a gut laughing, lol! It does get easier with shaker cards BUT now & then the dreaded bleeping hole shows up :)
I love how it turned out!

Ha! That's why I've never tried a shaker card! I hate picking sequins up off the floor! The card sure is cute though and I think it was worth a few colorful phrases!

I'm in your camp...never made a shaker card. You made me laugh, as I'm thinking "Yeah, sounds just like what I'd do IF I tried this!" Your card is just delightful with this cute Santa, love the stitched die and your wonderful sequins...whether they shake properly or not. Still adorable! Good for you on trying & I bet you got it working right in the end! Hugs & TFS

Glad I stopped by to see you this morning so I could catch up a bit on your totally adorable cards Lynn. I love this Santa and your sequin snowflakes. Same thing happened to me a few years ago and I never did get it all right - that is why you never see me making them. I admire others that can successfully do them and yours is really precious. This shaker is adorable Lynn, but sorry it gave you such a hard time. I love that santa, he is just to cute, love the paper you used inside your shaker too and the little scene. They really are easy to make, you just need to tackle another one so you have it down pat. Of course I might feel the same way you do if I had a hard time like you did. I can just image the sweet words that came out of your sweet little mouth! Cause they would have proably came out of mine too. lol Hugs, Brenda
