This is a big time CASE from a card I saw recently in an online card class. My attempt (for what it's worth) and explanation will follow in a bit.
First of all though.......it's time once again for the Scrapy Land Challenge! Our theme is Anything Goes! Come on over and join the fun and see all the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team! All you have to do to enter is to be sure and use one of the brands of dies that the Scrapy Land store carries. The winner will receive a great prize too.
Now, on to my CASE of a card. This is so not me and just sorta got blobbed up a little but the idea was pretty cool. I used watercolor paper and stamped an image with Gesso and then water colored over the image. My problem happened when I used more of an outline image instead of a solid one so it really got washed out looking. The thought was there though! After that I die cut the Memory Box Leaping Deer and then added the white embossed sentiment to a strip of black card stock. The enamel dots were then added. Like I said, the idea was good anyway.
That's it for today and thanks so much for stopping by.......Be sure and check out Scrapy Land Challenges now.

I know it is not you, but it is very pretty. I love the shades of colors you went with and the sentiment really stands out on the black nicely. Your little brads make a nice final touch. Enjoy your day.
Ohhhhhhh! Lynn, I love this card - the background is amazing in it's glorious colors and textures! Just beautiful! hugs, de
I think your card is absolutely gorgeous! I love the watercolor background with the white deer and then the white embossing on the black strip! Just gorgeous!!
Wonderful card Lynn, love the color combo you used and the twine around the reindeer's neck is just the right touch!
I love this! I haven't heard about stamping with gesso before, but now I definitely want to try it. I think I'm going to have to CASE you.
I really like the muted background image, Lynn. I totally understand when you try to use a concept and you are just not sure if it made it. That was my glassine shaker the other day. Keep smiling, and I hope your temps have warmed, cause ours sure have not. :)
Lynn, your card is gorgeous! I think it turned out to be fabulous, despite what you think about it! So creative looking - I love it!
Beautiful! I think I may case this one...(Of course, mine won't be as pretty as yours!) I really like the design. Very nice!

I love this effect, Lynn and it is worth a lot. The colour scheme is very gentle and the die cut matches so nicely with the general elegance of the card.

Lynn, I think this turned out so stunning!! I love playing with watercolor and I can see the image, but I love the subtle effect it has!! BEAUTIFUL!! :)
Gorgeous color choices, Lynn! Whether it's you or not, it's fantastic. Love the deer and the birthday sentiment.
Read through your post & saw all that you thought was not great on this card, and must disagree with you - big time! It is just WON-derful. Your w/colors are very subtle and a good combination of the color palette too. Like the shadow look of the stamping in the blue corner...and that leaping deer with his twine harness is perfect against the spots of color. You say this is 'not me', but you've done an extremely super look on this one Miz Lynn. A great CASE and your own twist on it, is just marvelous! TFS & Hugs
I love how the watercoloring makes such a magical looking sky and I like the outlined diamond pattern! It's fun to do something different sometimes, don't you think?
It may not have been what you hoped for, Lynn, but it certainly is gorgeous! I love the earthy arty feel of the water colors themselves and the reindeer is the perfect choice for these colors. I think it has a strong masculine appeal! Hugs, Darnell
Even though it's not you, this card is still wonderful. I love the watercolor shades that you chose. Love that beautiful deer die and great sentiment to go with it. Have a wonderful day!

Gawd, I love your explanations about your creativity. Somehow I think we are cut from the same mold... and would have a blast crafting together.
Despite what you say are mishaps, I love this card. It's different and very artsy and creative.
Such a gorgeous card! I love the contrast of the stark white deer against against the messy and colorful background!
This is just fabulous! LOVE!!!
For sure, I like this card and the watercolored background. Super colors! I must say I get older and older....don't think I get much wiser, though. Hope I do. :-)
