Froggie Fun Friday and Something Weird

I really debated whether to put this on here or not, but then figured - what the heck!  After all, it's Fun Friday so just had to share this little guy.  Doesn't it make you want to break out into that Creedence Clearwater Revival song "Jerimiah Was a Bullfrog"!  Um.....Creedence may be a little redneck-ish for some (and too old for others), but if you ever heard the song you'd get my drift here.  All he needs is a bottle of wine sitting beside him (as in the song).  In fact, when I was posting this I was singing it at the same time and Jim hollered in here wanting to know if I'd dipped into the wine bottle again or something!  Yes, my singing is that bad!

Using some leftover pieces that were sitting on my desk......Kraft card stock, some unknown patterned paper, sentiment, twine, stitched circle, and of course the star of the show - little frog from Penny Black.  On the patterned paper I used a Whimsy border die for the 'stitching'.

Since I used some snippets, I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.  It's a fun challenge.

Now, not everyone has one of these.  In fact, I'd venture to guess that no one has one!  About 30 years ago I was rushing out of the house to drop the kids at school and head to work.  I raised up the garage door (not like I did the week before and tried to drive through it) and this 'thing' was sitting there!  Yikes!  I reached down and picked it up and it was as stiff as a board.  I showed it to the kids who thought it was the most interesting thing ever and so I decided to take it to work with me.  It was the hit of the day!  Since it was around Christmas, one of the ladies was working on some type of felt project and whipped up a Santa hat for it.  I've never given the little guy a name but he's kinda like Elf on a Shelf and gets pulled out every year at Christmas to watch over the decorations.  I think he's mummified - or something.  Weird!  He really needs a name........any ideas?

Thanks for stopping by........have a great weekend and remember to SMILE!
Lynn

OMG?! I think your mummified frog is fascinating, Lynn! And in that position, too! I can only imagine what the conditions must have been for that to happen. I think you should call him "Whatthe?" because of the look on his face and his stance. Card? Oh, yes, and I love it! You truly are the Queen of CAS, my friend! Happy Holiday Hugs! Darnell (PS Creedence is my favorite band of all time and I want to thank you for the happy ear worm!)

I hope you are gearing up for a HOPPY Holiday! (couldn't resist!) :)

Your card and your friend seem to be from the same family. LOL Jerimiah was won of my favorite songs back then. I can here it now while I'm writing this to you. Thanks for a nice memory today. The whole card is darling with the nice swatch of plain type paper and your signature piece of twine. You make twine look better than anyone else I know. Mine never looks exciting. What is your secret? It must be love added in there. Now on to your little friend. I can't think of a name right now, but he does know how to wear a hat. I'll say that much for him. Have a wonderful weekend.

LOVE your card Lynn - and that frog on the card cracks me up, what a happy chappy!

On the other hand, that little guy in the Santa hat is just a teensy tad spooky - a bit like Kermit having been through the microwave or something cos he's all dessicated and dried out!

A name? Not to be confused with Frodo in the Hobbit, I think Frogo - pronounced sorta like Frow-go. Best I can do I'm afraid - must hop onto the next entry to comment :)

I don't know about that frog, but maybe a "Herman"? LOL!! "Happy Herman"?

OMGoodness the card is absolutely sensational! And yes, of course, now I'll be singing Jeremiah myself! I think you should go all out and name your modified friend Jeremiah and give him his own guitar!

I love your cute frog card- and I am always amazed about how easy you make CAS look- cause it is not! Oh that felt hat is awesome, and the frog- well, you could name him Claus- claus he always comes out at Christmas! Thanks for always putting a smile on my face : )

What a fun, hilarious card!! The frog on the card is hilarious strumming on his uke and I love the plaid strip. I think it was Three Dog Night who originally sang Joy to the World, so I'd name your fossilized frog "Tripdoggie." Hahaha Thanks for the chuckles - this is truly a fun card :)

Okay... that is an interesting little mummified creature! How about Freddie? His hat looks great on him and at least he's festive. He kind of creeps me out though! On the other hand, your card is lovely and I see you're using plaid so you are right on trend! The frog on the card is much cuter than Freddie!

Your card is too darn' cute so why in the name of heaven would you not wanna share it with us. Well, that mummified frog has an amazing tale to it. I would not dare to touch it let alone keep it. I like his hat more than him. Lol.

Love that song and, OMG, that frog is amazing! Maybe he got zapped by a flying saucer! It's amazing that he's still intact! The Santa hat is so perfect. A one of a kind decoration for sure! Have a great weekend!

OMG! You are so funny Lynn!! I like your "Frog on the Shelf" and the story behind it! Your card is adorable but it reminds me of a childhood song I used to listen to "Froggy went a Courtin'"! Love that plaid paper!!

OK, let's see if I can stop laughing long enough to leave a comment, Lynn. I'm trying this on a laptop with which I'm totally unfamiliar but we have an internet connection for the moment in the restaurant where we're having breakfast. I love the card and the Jeremiah song is stuck in my head! That frog mummy is too odd and delightful. Love his Santa hat! I think he's a Jeremiah, for sure. :-D

Ok, Now you have me singing that song too. (And going back memory lane...they played that song at one my class reunions over and over again...good thing I like that song. And that I did have a good time at the reunion or I would probably never want to hear the song again...smile...

Now to stop rambling ...Like your cute frog card!

First I love your card, the plaid is sooo perfect with Mr Frog! I have never seen a mummified frog, sooo interesting! His little Christmas hat makes me laugh, much better than elf on the shelf. Creedence Clearwater Revival,,,now that takes me down memory lane for sure and Of course his name should be Jeremiah. Your posts always make me smily Lynn :)

Oh Lynn this is a classic 'you' - love the humour and the simplicity of your card. As for the frog, I have never seen one like that...I love Darnell's suggested name of whatthe!!

I LIKE your Credence Frog! He's perfect on kraft, and I know someone who lives here, that would love this one! (basement bathroom has his frog stuff). Now the mummified one, would not be to my liking, as he looks way too real. But he looks just dandy in his Santa hat.. I like the 'cute kind', not the real kind! We had those things in Florida, and they loved to hang around the front door, and hop inside any chance they got. Ugh! Lucky I had 2 folks that didn't mind catching & ejecting them. Good work and we like Credence here at our house, and know that exact song. DD loved it as a kid. TFS
