NOT a Christmas Card!

YIKES!!!!!  It's NOT a Christmas card!  What's the world coming to anyway!

Nope, no Christmas card here - just a birthday card I sent to a very dear friend the other day.  The image is from Taylored Expressions and the hat from Tim Holtz.  Very simple card but hey, that's what I do.

I had this exact expression on my face the other day.  My daughter keeps giving me things to do (whether I want to or not) and had asked me to redo a wreath for her school.  The sucker was HUGE and the tackiest looking thing I'd ever seen in my life.  Honest!  So, I set up a table and stuck it up there and worked my magic.  (THAT'S a joke since there is no magic at all in my fingers when it comes to things like that.  I'm not a florist or wreath maker or whatever and don't pretend to be either).    Anyway, I had to run to the local craft store to get some things to go on the wreath and this is where "the look" comes in .  First of all I had to park about a half mile away just to get to the store.  This isn't good.  Got in there and if there was one person there were 4,000!  No reason that I could see other than it's close to Christmas.  So, Lynn put the smile on her face and braved the crowd.  Got the stuff I needed and after standing in the checkout line for an hour, came home.  It's no wonder people shop online anymore.  My Christmas spirit left as soon as I saw that wall of people in the store!   But......the good news is that I did finish the wreath and it was passable ok!

Thanks for stopping by...................and SMILE!
Lynn

OMG, this is wonderful and looks just like that baby picture that was on TV this morning. She had the very same look! So do a lot of the shoppers in the stores! Your friend will laugh when she opens this. I love the plaid.

Nothing like a bear with a little attitude! You made me snort out my nose, ugh. It has been so busy around here. Jim is keeping me hopping. I can not imagine tomorrow at the mall. Not a place I go but the GS is coming and has not seen Santa yet. Say a prayer for this old bird! Blogging has just not been happening here. Wonderful card, Lynn.

This is what that reminds me of.

I was waiting for a photo of the wreath after all that haha! We prefer online shopping here, but we live in a rural area and there's not much selection. I do venture out to Dollarama and although it's very busy, the lines move quickly. Yay you for getting it done! Your birthday card is cute too! Love your sense of humour!

OMG, this is so cute and funny! I love cards like this - I guess my snarky sense of humor shows more than ever these days! I cannot imagine your craft store visit, but I'm glad you got it done regardless. It's madness out there I tell ya, pure madness!! I'm smiling, don't worry, cuz I'm home .......far away from the maddening crowds! :)

Blimey Lynn not sure id have stuck an hour in any queue - you must have a very popular craft store - can only get about 4 people tops in ours:-) Well done on tackling the wreath, im sure you made it look better than when it was first bought. LOVE your card, so made me smile as he looks just like my brother! lol Hugs Emmaxx

Oh, Lynn, that expression on his face is priceless! Love the sentiment. I admire you for braving the crowds. I absolutely refuse to enter a store of any kind from mid-November through the day after the New Year. When my daughter has 'assigned' projects for me, if supplies are needed, I let her go fight the crowds. lol Bless you for being a gentler, kinder mom. Hugs.
