Quick Post

And................She's back!  YAY!

Yes, I'm back now from all the travels.  My daughter and I took a mother/daughter trip at Christmas and went to the Grand Canyon.  We'd never seen it before other than flying over it so it was nice to see.  Everyone should probably see it at least once I guess.  I was so proud of her.......she didn't even act like she wanted to push me over the side of the canyon!  Amazing!

After leaving there the plan was to head to Vegas but due to the weather, we ended up in Phoenix.  They do have casinos there though too so............One pull on the slot machine there and she won $300.  Numerous pulls on the slot machine - and I basically donated money to the casino.   No trip would be complete without a little shopping so we also hit the outlet mall there.  She got to spend some of her winnings - and as usual, I just got to spend my hard earned money.

Got back home from that trip and did all the Christmas business with the grands - and then I took off to do the "I need to see my brother" trip down to south Texas.  All this was really nice but it's even nicer to be back home.

There's no way to catch up on all the commenting so I'm not even going to try.  I know I've missed so much though.  Slowly but surely I'll be back around.

I'll leave you with a super simple "git 'er done" card using a new image from Studio Katia and some tri-colored Spectrum Noir markers that were a very special gift from a sweet friend.  (I do like the markers too!  They seem to blend really easy).

Thanks for stopping by........
Lynn

Welcome back home from your adventures and travels! I can't stop laughing over your remark about your daughter not even thinking of trying to push you over the side of the Grand Canyon! ROFL You have the most wicked sense of humor :)
Love this simple note card too, and what a great gift of those markers from your friend! Have fun in the coming new year :)

I'm glad your'e back from your trip and it sounds like you got a lot done. How fun for your daughter winning right away. I hope you got some nice new things shopping. This is a "to the point" card and it is so cute. Sorry, I couldn't help it!

Cute nite card. I live in AZ and didn't realize that there were casinos in Phoenix. I am not really a casino person. I usually limit myself to ten dollars, and that goes really quickly. Then I'm done. Vegas is something amazing to see even without gambling. I freaked out at the Grand Canyon. I am afraid of heights. Every time my kids got near the edge, even though there was a low wall there, I freaked out.

Sounds like a good time, Lynn! It's nice to go, but even nicer to come home. Having new toys to come home to, makes it even more fun! A simple and very nice card!

Welcome back! I went to the Grand Canyon right around this time of year about 10 years ago . We went on a tour with a tour guide which made it better than looking at a bunch of rocks.

I love your card!

Hugs,
Chriss

Love this card, and I enjoyed the story even more :-) How old is your daughter? My one and only "child" is a soon to be 19 year old man. He's awesome though and we get along incredibly well. I could trust him not to threaten to push me in the Canyon too! I stood at the edge of the north side of the Grand Canyon for all of 10 mins. We had taken a crop duster sized plane ride for Vegas and everyone but the pilot got motion sickness on the plane because of bad air pockets that made us drop 20 feet in the sky repeatedly. Most of us opted to take the tour bus back, but sadly the last bus was leaving 10 mins after we arrived! Shortest Grand Canyon tour ever. Its on my bucket list to see... minus the "thought I was going to die" plane ride! You should post some pics of your Grand Canyon trip :-)

Sounds like you had a great vacation. I've never seen the Grand Canyon, but it's been my husband's dream to see it. I would probably just donate to the Casino too. smile. I have never had a big win of any kind. (But it might be that I rarely by lottery tickets.
PS Your card is cute!

Sounds like you have been very busy but it also sounds like you had fun! Haha, the same thing happens when I gamble so I don't bother. Your daughter was lucky though! Cute little cactus card!
