All About Frogs for a Fun Friday

Hopping by with a Fun Friday card...............We're talking frogs now.  I mean, why not - right?  These cuties are from Art Impression.  Not sure why I love frogs but I do............and that brings us to the story about the first (AND LAST) time I went frog leg hunting.  Yes you heard that right.

Jim and I and another couple were sitting around talking about frogs (no idea why on that one at all!) one day and we (THEY) decided that we'd go get some frog legs and cook them up that night.  Of course the best time according to Jim to get the frogs was at night when they all came out to do their croaking or whatever they like to do.  We found a good pond behind some friends house and all four of us piled in a boat.  It's pitch dark and the guys are happily paddling along and all I can think about are the creepy crawly's out and about and probably getting in the boat with me - and my pants!  And snakes....YIKES!   But, I'm a good sport so never say a word.  So we're peacefully paddling along ....and then KA-BOOM!  The entire boat shakes, the guys start paddling like mad and all I see is this big "A" bull frog sinking.......Uck!  They got to it before it went under and threw it in the boat.  Double Uck!  The "hunt"ended after we had about 15 frogs - lots of legs - in the boat with us..........  Don't even ask what my thought was on that!  They cooked them up that night and I just couldn't eat one. All I could think of was that poor bull frog croaking his little heart out and then the KA-BOOM!  I did end up trying frog legs a year or so later - from a restaurant - and they weren't too bad.  Sorta tasted like chicken???

Thank heavens these cute little guys won't end up on someones plate!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More (Clean and Simple).

Have a good weekend and stay safe and healthy - and SMILE!
Lynn

OMG, what a fun story!! I think when we were younger we all did stupid stuff like that at night LOL I've never been able to bring myself to trying frogs legs, but you are braver than I am obviously! Years ago my mom, sister and her b/f all went to a nice restaurant and he ordered frogs legs. I could barely touch my dinner after seeing them on his plate LOL Mind over matter I s'pose.
Anyhoo, this is a fun card and those frogs are so cute celebrating around that cake! Fun stuff :) BTW, congrats on your win over on Darnell's blog! Woo hoo Ribbit and all that stuff :) Have a great weekend!

Somehow I missed that we were talking about frogs! But this card sure does them justice. What a fun celebration with them. You can see they are having a wonderful time celebrating a birthday. I love that you were brave enough to go hunt them, then stay in the boat with them all around. I wonder why we try so many different kinds of meat when everything tastes like chicken!

Oh what a cute, cute card Lynn! I love that image and it's colored beautifully! Being in a boat when it's pitch dark outside sounds more frightening than trying frog legs! LOL! I watch too many scary movies!

Oh Lynn, I can just see you in the boat with a giant bull frog..lol..I could not have eaten it either, not like that, but in resaurant I would give it a bash..it's like my Mother making me spaghetti sandwhiches they just weren't the same as the tea rooms we went too..exactly the same but not.. I love your cute frogs, I love frogs too and they are having such a hoppy time celebrating..have a good Easter weekend and stay safe..

Ooooh, no, Lynn, poor little (and big) froggies! I just love frogs (don't know why either) and even collected them for a while. Had them all over the house and I wasn't even an elderly woman at that point (we forgive them for their foibles), so I don't know what I was thinking! But what I DO know for sure is that I love this image and your coloring is divine! Take care, stay safe, and Happy Easter!! Hugs, Darnell

Love the card, Lynn, and love the story, too! Frogs aren't my favorite things either but on cards, I think they're darling. :-D Your story does remind me of one of the funniest cartoons I've ever seen showing a frog in a wheelchair, blanket covering him from the waist down, madly rolling himself away from the back door of a restaurant that had a sign advertising a special on frog legs. The shape of the blanket made it clear that there were no legs under it and the frog had money in his fist! I wish I could show it to you instead of just describing it. lol

Looks like these frogs have kept their legs intact, LOL! What a fun story and a fun card to go with it! Or is it the other way around??? Happy Easter, Lynn!

Well that certainly made me smile - i didn't even know people actually ate frogs legs, wouldn't think there was much meat on them, certainly not on british frogs anyway.
LOVE your card, so bright, fun and vibrant, ideal to brighten the day. Stay Safe. Emmax

What a story! I don't think I could eat frog legs. The same with crawfish. Love your card though. Those frogs are so adorable, not meant for a dinner table.

OMGoodness, Lynn, what a funny story! Something tells me that some alcohol might have been consumed that night haha. Your group was very adventurous! Such a fun memory! I have nver tried frogs' legs and I hope I never do! I do, however, love your fun card! There's something so cute about frogs - especially these partying frogs - I love them!

What a totally fun card - love the images! Cute. The story is super fun too. What an adventure - sounds like something my hubby would do (but I wouldn't have gotten in the boat - lol - you are a much better sport than I am). Hugz
